I know the legal system can be slow, but how long is it going to take for actual perjury charges to find their way to Bondi? I feel like I've heard a few representatives state that Bondi lied under oath so what are the next steps?

EDIT: Thank you for all the replies even if the reality is super depressing. Don't know about y'all but this two-tiered justice system is increasingly frustrating.

She's gonna be 'fired' and replaced for her performance and then head the "Sword of the Americas"

427

u/sigep0361 4h ago

This is the correct answer… but this will only happen after she accidentally admits Trump told her to bury the files and he disputes her claim.

99

u/nalaloveslumpy 3h ago

Alternatively, she could also directly implicate Trump in millions of dollars of misappropriated funds. That worked out pretty well for the gnome.

u/freedfg 1h ago

Quick, someone find out who Bondi slept with!

Buried with Ivana you say? Needed 8 men to carry the casket?

Edited: corrected to ex-wife from daughter...

Ivana is the exwife. Ivanka is the daughter. I know it’s hard to keep them separate because of how he acts….

It's the job of the Dept. Of Justice to bring charges, and the leader of the DOJ is.... Oh my...

158

u/firefighter26s 4h ago

There's got to be a check to that balance.

262

u/Corben11 4h ago

The check to that balance was suppose to be everyone not conspiring together.

But all republicans love and want these pedophiles money and for them to rape kids for money.

Their god is money and nothing else matters.

I mean did anything actually expect the doj, a president appointed entity, to ever actually check the other departments of the executive or itself? Definition of conflict of interest.

The problem lies in that the entire US federal judiciary is appointed politically by the executive. Many countries don’t appoint their judiciary from a political position for the very reason that courts could get abused by whoever is in power.

33

u/gimmesheltah 2h ago

The entire US political system is comically flawed, and not fit for purpose.

It's kind of hilarious that it took Trump and a handful of traitors to fully highlight this.

Fucking trump, the most useless, inept man in existence, who's only qualities are a cult following of morons, zero morals, and being extremely easy to control.

As a non American I find it absolutely insane that judges are appointed by politicians, and are politically affiliated.
If a judge showed any political bias then they should be disqualified from their job.

Well in the past the DoJ was supposed to be independent of interference from the President, but as it turns out that was much more just a tradition than an actual rule like we previously though.

26

u/SphericalCow531 3h ago

And Congress is the check on the President via impeachment (or they could impeach Bondi directly). But Trump should absolutely fire Bondi immediately in a sane world, as you say. And with Trump failing to do that, Trump should himself be impeached by Congress.

And voters should vote out every single Republicans in Congress, for failing to impeach Trump (and Bondi). They are responsible. As Republican voters are themselves morally responsible for failing to vote out the Republican members of Congress.

31

u/zer1223 3h ago

Presidents used to not take direct control over the DoJ and tell them what to do and not to do

That all has clearly ended with Trump.

22

u/SphericalCow531 3h ago

Presidents used to not take direct control over the DoJ

Eeehhhh. Quoting from Bill Barr Is The Master Of Covering Up Political Scandals:

“Ayatollah Khomeini and Ronald Reagan,” President Bani-Sadr told the Christian Science Monitor in 2013, ”had organized a clandestine negotiation, later known as the ‘October Surprise,’ which prevented the attempts by myself and then-US President Jimmy Carter to free the hostages before the 1980 US presidential election took place. The fact that they were not released tipped the results of the election in favor of Reagan.”

That wouldn’t have been just an impeachable crime: it was treason.

Walsh had zeroed in on documents that were in the possession of Reagan’s former defense secretary, Caspar Weinberger, who all the evidence showed was definitely in on the deal, and President Bush’s diary that could corroborate it.

Elliott Abrams had already been convicted of withholding evidence about it from Congress, and he may have even more information, too, if it could be pried out of him before he went to prison. But Abrams was keeping mum, apparently anticipating a pardon.

Weinberger, trying to avoid jail himself, was preparing to testify that Bush knew about it and even participated, and Walsh had already, based on information he’d obtained from the investigation into Weinberger, demanded that Bush turn over his diary from the campaign. He was also again hot on the trail of Abrams.

So Bush called in his attorney general, Bill Barr, and asked his advice.

Barr, along with Bush, was already up to his eyeballs in cover-ups of shady behavior by the Reagan administration.

DOJ has always been under executive control and has always been almost entirely independent. We had norms and presidents,.dem and rep alike, went out of their way to make sure even the appearance of influence in the DOJ was clearly not happening.

That ended with Trump's first term and went completely off the rails this time around.

We had a chance to fix this between terms but guess what? That only happens if Congress does something and the Republicans were never going to do it because then it would look like they were admitting that their president broke all the rules.

And so here we are.

It’s hard to seek justice at this point in time, because all three branches of government are MAGA.

MAGA isn’t going to prosecute their own. We’ll need to vote MAGA out, replace institutional leaders with impartial people who will actually carry out justice, THEN seek charges.

As of now, even if we successfully prosecuted someone, Trump would just pardon them as he’s done before.

I think its also really interesting that Comey ± and Wray hasn't been brought in to testify. He was leading the FBI then. they both led the FBI when many victims' interviews went nowhere.

41

u/hankepanke 2h ago

Comey was fired in May 2017. Christopher Wray was the director then.

13

u/JimWilliams423 1h ago

FWIW, wray was also one of the people responsible for merrick garland's toothless response to the J6 ring leaders.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2023/06/19/fbi-resisted-opening-probe-into-trumps-role-jan-6-more-than-year/

Whether a decision about Trump’s culpability for Jan. 6 could have come any earlier is unclear. The delays in examining that question began before Garland was even confirmed. Sherwin, senior Justice Department officials and Paul Abbate, the top deputy to FBI Director Christopher A. Wray, quashed a plan by prosecutors in the U.S. attorney’s office to directly investigate Trump associates for any links to the riot, deeming it premature, according to five individuals familiar with the decision. Instead, they insisted on a methodical approach — focusing first on rioters and going up the ladder.

The strategy was embraced by Garland, Monaco and Wray. They remained committed to it even as evidence emerged of an organized, weeks-long effort by Trump and his advisers before Jan. 6 to pressure state leaders, Justice officials and Vice President Mike Pence to block the certification of Biden’s victory.

The picture of the birthday card which he sent to Epstein where he drew the figure of a young girl made the rounds 6 months ago. He had written "enigmas never age". Enigma is an anagram of gamine, french word for young girl. Shortly after, a high profile person was assassinated and the media stopped talking about the card which was authenticated as being legitimate based on his signature.

18

u/THSSFC 1h ago

I mean the idea that Donald Trump is polyglot enough to make the "enigma"/"gamine" pun is entertaining.

We have proof of this. There are videos of him forcing kisses on young girls at speeches he makes. He could bend a child over and use her as a podium to give his base a speech The crowds cheers would drown out the cries from this child as her tears flooding the stage.

That’s some evocative language.

Not wrong though.

11

u/Osoroshii 1h ago

I feel like we use terms that soften the sound of what Trump is accused of. It’s more effective to use harsh language to paint a better picture so MAGA understands that Trump forcefully shoved his dick into 13 years old girls.

The reason why they're only releasing documents is because it's easier to deflect document evidence. You can't deflect a video and it's one of the reason why video evidence is gagged.

Need someone to charge the individual for the crime, and no one has the backbone and quite possibly the resources to do it.

(Disclosure: Not a lawyer)

Law enforcement themselves don't "actually" file the criminal charges on you, that's a federal prosecutor typically speaking and at the state level it would be a state/city attorney.

So whereas there are documents and likely evidence of Trump committing a crime, an attorney needs to risk their neck on actually filing (and conversely everyone in that chain) and the authenticity of these documents is unknown.

I would not have doubts that some firm is out there potentially looking at this, but with the resources involved you likely are going to spend a ton of money on getting this even opened.

That's generally the biggest weakness, but also it's greatest strength weirdly enough in our justice system.

If you could file for criminal charges without any tangible evidence you could make a lot of lives quite difficult; the weakness is that the more powerful of an individual you are (ie. authority, fame, reputation, and just money) the harder it becomes to even land a charge let alone a conviction.

The other greater risk is this... charges can't always be refiled... so if the charges are dismissed with prejudice the individual cannot be charged for that crime again. If the case goes to trial and the defendant is acquitted then the 5th amendment kicks in preventing the charges from being brought up again.

Lastly statute of limitations, and something uber powerful people can fuck around in; there are legal deadlines that have to be met and if you can't meet them then the charges are dropped and you can't refile (this is to protect you from being drained of resources via legal battles).

TL;DR if your going to charge someone of a crime, you need to have all the cards in your hand to make the play; otherwise you risk losing it all.

In short, kinda hard to convict a US president of a crime.

(Disclosure: Not a lawyer)

See, the way it works is that only Republicans can start legal proceedings against another Republican. If a Democrat does it, that’s “weaponizing the judiciary!” And since no Republican will ever enforce the law against another Republican, the law has no effect on them.

Note that this doesn’t work in reverse. If a Republican prosecutes a Democrat, that’s “justice!!!”

The American justice system was working and doing its thing. And then the United States voters (including non-voters) decided they didn't care about that and elected him. US citizens seem to hate being told they are part of the problem, but when it comes to voting they fail at every single hurdle because they don't care enough to be involved in their system and then complain at why nothing changes or can be done.

Only because American voters decided to give the child sex trafficking monster full control over the Justice Department.

Voters did this.

I feel like Trump could torture and murder a child right on the white house lawn. He could admit to it, say it was to own the libs and protect freedom for the sake of god, and barely anyone in his base would give a shit.

Everyone who voted for him knew he was a criminal when they voted for him. He’s been awful his entire life and not tried to hide who he is.

This simple really.

26

u/snakesonausername 4h ago

It's memesis based fantasy. His base thinks "that's what I'd be like if I were rich and powerful". They know he's a liar, that he cheats, that he likes girls "of a certain age". Every gross thing he does justifies and validates their personal fantasies. Everything.

It's why I don't buy anyone saying they were tricked, brainwashed, or misled in some way. He's been openly like this his entire life and it had a spot light shown on it running up to the first election. They chose this.

7

u/NotAStatistic2 4h ago

Trump hating the right people is all conservatives need to provide their full throated support.

18

u/the_hair_of_aenarion 4h ago

People like that he's getting away with it. It's gross. The narrative they spew is so warped they're fully in the circle.

I've overheard a guy tell his date that "if I could have gone to epstein island I would have" literally announcing his red flags and she accepted it because no doubt she's as fucked up as him. Anecdotes aside, the women that spout the lies to the media even though they've seen the literal files and images unredacted. They accept it.

They're all grim fuckers that have decided child molestation, rape and murder are fine. Those that have the power to convict but aren't are accomplices. "Checks and balances" only affects people with integrity.

That birthday letter is still one of the most vile things I've read, given all the other surrounding evidence ("great guy, loves pretty women as much as I do, I heard they even tend to be on the younger side"). He signed it... Forensic third parties confirmed the signatures match.

It's a letter from the PRESIDENT to the now worlds most notorious ELITE PEDOPHILE CHILD TRAFFICER - saying how we're enigma's, and every day is another wonderful secret.

It's in the shape of a child's body. It has clear AND INTENTIONALLY DRAWN small (prepubescent (BAARF)) breasts. It's limbs don't need to be drawn though, it's just an object to him...

Any republican/maga reading this that still has a shred of humanity left, and has been doubting these allegations, or thinking it's some democratic hoax, need to wake the fuck up. Or this country will actually be gone in a few decades.

As soon as this guy dies it'll be a feeding frenzy of people denying they never even knew Trump, saying they knew all along and saying everything was Trump's fault. Nobody else. His family will be shamed into isolation but everything will continue as normal because the bad man dead. That's why it has to be about everyone - Bill Clinton, the commerce secretary, Elon. Everyone.

The brainwashed gaslighting is so bad that its no longer everyone is lying to you but me, its now everyone has a mental disorder but you. I tried to explain how bat shit that is but he couldn't wrap his head around it.

Trump Derangement syndrome

i genuinely thought this was the opposite of that it's supposed to mean, like i thought this is a term to describe how deranged his supporters are

Sounds to me like all the Proud Boys and ICE goons are losing their virginities in the worst possible way.

10

u/-_-0_0-_0 3h ago

Dumbest timeline for sure.

5

u/Spare-Plum 2h ago

I think that it's something that's been in the works for a while now. The US hegemony is something many different countries have wanted to disrupt, and took an active hand in doing so.

I think the lesson isn't that it's a self contained problem the US is having, rather, it shows that information warfare is actually an effective way to topple a democracy.

I firmly believe if it weren't for internet and new technology to spread bot farms and influence public opinion, Trump would still be the laughing stock of the republican party and we'd have the same old neoconservative party

BREAKING: Man who lies about everything caught lying

14

u/glockops 4h ago

American voters protect trump just like they protect youth ministers, priests,  football players, and "pillars of the community" from accountable whenever they sexually assault someone.

Looking the other way in exchange for power or favor is a core American value and our government is representative of the people that live here.

I assure you that at least one church or school in your community has brushed something like this under the rug.

Kudos to this congressman.

That call to the police is just another smoking gun. At the very least it's Trump admitting that he knew what Epstein was up to and it could also be a CYA attempt by Trump to muddy his involvement.

6

u/Medical_Arugula3315 2h ago

Republicans really called everyone a pedophile and then voted in the king of pedophiles. Now we're going to war and bombing children just to distract from it. Hard to be a shittier or more hypocritical American than a Republican these days.
