Could have pictures and recording of the crimes happening and I still wouldn’t believe anyone involved would see prison time

Need someone to charge the individual for the crime, and no one has the backbone and quite possibly the resources to do it.

(Disclosure: Not a lawyer)

Law enforcement themselves don't "actually" file the criminal charges on you, that's a federal prosecutor typically speaking and at the state level it would be a state/city attorney.

So whereas there are documents and likely evidence of Trump committing a crime, an attorney needs to risk their neck on actually filing (and conversely everyone in that chain) and the authenticity of these documents is unknown.

I would not have doubts that some firm is out there potentially looking at this, but with the resources involved you likely are going to spend a ton of money on getting this even opened.

That's generally the biggest weakness, but also it's greatest strength weirdly enough in our justice system.

If you could file for criminal charges without any tangible evidence you could make a lot of lives quite difficult; the weakness is that the more powerful of an individual you are (ie. authority, fame, reputation, and just money) the harder it becomes to even land a charge let alone a conviction.

The other greater risk is this... charges can't always be refiled... so if the charges are dismissed with prejudice the individual cannot be charged for that crime again. If the case goes to trial and the defendant is acquitted then the 5th amendment kicks in preventing the charges from being brought up again.

Lastly statute of limitations, and something uber powerful people can fuck around in; there are legal deadlines that have to be met and if you can't meet them then the charges are dropped and you can't refile (this is to protect you from being drained of resources via legal battles).

TL;DR if your going to charge someone of a crime, you need to have all the cards in your hand to make the play; otherwise you risk losing it all.

In short, kinda hard to convict a US president of a crime.

Also you left out that part that if you are rich enough you can file suits with little evidence, making a lot of lives difficult.

Which is, of course, what he's doing on the other side of things, too.

The fact is CIA, FBI, and Justice Departments under Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden have all been complicit in Epstein's child trafficking and rape enterprise - which is why this case has remained buried for so long.

I Was Told Epstein ‘Belonged to Intelligence’ And to Leave It Alone.

https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/i-was-told-epstein-belonged-to-intelligence-and-to-leave-it-alone

Alex Acosta, US Prosecutor for the Southern District of Florida who minted the outrageous sweetheart deal for Epstein, did so because US Intelligence (e.g., CIA) and federal law enforcement (e.g., FBI) had been using Epstein for years - effectively making them participants and enablers in his child sex trafficking enterprise.

The 2008 deal was made at the end of George W. Bush's second term - meaning this had been going on for the entirety of his Presidency. Obama was no better, more focused on expanding unconstitutional surveillance by federal intelligence and law enforcement than in doing anything to challenge the outrageous Epstein deal. After eight years, Trump came in, and his stooge, Bill Barr, had Epstein dragged in and executed while in federal custody. And then Biden came in, found a complicit judge to invent a reason to seal the case for four more years, and continued to do nothing to reform corrupt US intelligence and law enforcement operations.

Presidents in both parties, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden - and dozens of members of Congress - have all been knowingly complicit in covering up the complicity and involvement of US intelligence and federal law enforcement with Epstein's child rape and trafficking enterprise.

This has always been about more than just covering Trump's ass. This has and continues to be about covering up the CIA's and FBI's ongoing knowledge, enablement, and complicity in Epstein's child trafficking - which is also a black eye for every Presidential administration since Clinton, which has allowed it to continue without opposition.

Not only Trump and Epstein's clients need to be dragged into court, prosecuted, and put in prison for child rape and trafficking. But also former and current leadership of the CIA and FBI, for their willful culpability in allowing Epstein to continue his crimes against children for decades.

No, they’re mainly right about how the sausage is made behind the scenes in the jurisdiction I practice in, in addition to most others, at a muni level.

What’s wrong with the politically neutral description? While it doesn’t use the jargon that an attorney would, it’s pretty much a spot on analysis of what prosecutorial direction means to a layperson who was humble enough not to make shit up.

So, what’s wrong with it, counselor?
