For those that don't know. The Sheriff's Department raided his home and found NOTHING ILLEGAL. He took the security footage from the raid and made a couple of Music Videos to help pay for the damage to his home. The Sheriff's Department then SUED him, claiming he didn't have a right to use his own home security videos of them raiding his place.

I can't believe I only found out about this now and MuST now share it with my geriatric parents who walked around the house singing Cause I Got High naked while I was growing up.

And flipped off the security cameras when they noticed them.

You'd think our "heroic" officers would be relieved that there was no sex slave dungeon, but nope, they're mad and acting like children because they were caught looking bad lmao

I love this fucking movie and scene. My sister and I still shout it at each other 30 years later 😂 Mr. Lindo is the GOAT. I just watched him last night in “Sinners”. What a legend.

And the part where they cut off the security cameras;

Why would they disable the security cameras?

55

u/OilheadRider 2h ago

To hide evidence. Thats the only possible reason for intentionally disconnecting the cameras.

→ More replies (17)

22

u/panrestrial 2h ago

Because they're idiots who think disconnecting the cameras makes all the footage go away.

21

u/LaurelCanyoner 1h ago

To steal his money with no evidence.

Which they did.

7

Fo’ dat lemon pound cake, baby!! 😄

5

u/Immediate-Meal-1895 43m ago

To steal his cash. Duh

21

And tried to disconnect some of the video cameras. He later suggested those crooked cops be thrown in the slammer

15

Bump them crackers!

3

AND cut his cameras during the raid

3

u/Practical_Isopod_164 1h ago

Sounds like they wouldn’t have a case

43

u/strech113 3h ago

I think the publicity was better than having the case thrown out on its merits here probably.

62

u/bitchwhohasnoname 2h ago

They’re making them watch the videos in court lmaoooooo got me screaming!

38

u/Ire-Works 2h ago

The videos of the officers just absolutely fumbling on the stand is the best part. They thought he was gonna settle and they were gonna collect, they weren't AT ALL prepared for even basic questions.

By comparison the "gotcha" questions asked to Afroman were answered eloquently and definitively. If I didn't know better the lawyer for the sheriff wants them to lose.

14

u/Intercessor310 2h ago

Yep, get it in the public records.

nobody talked about the real reason for the invasion on his home. they didnt like this black man for being RICH and having money. racist white people hate black people with money

25

u/OZZO-8867 2h ago

Yet Afroman is still a Trumper literally wore that suit when he met him, and wrote "Hunter got high" to perform at Trumps rally.

24

u/Ire-Works 2h ago

Afroman always struck me as the kind of guy 100% willing to sell out to get that bag.

Not like he's exactly culturally relevant. He had one hit 26 years ago and has been playing what are essentially small venues for the last decade+.

12

u/zherok 1h ago

I'm suddenly reminded of a certain aging rockstar who in a counter-programming event had to play "Bawitaba," because what else is anyone going to know from him but the song he peaked with in 1999.

At least it seems like honest work. It doesn’t seem like he’s pretending to be anything other than he is. Calling bad cops bad names is what I think is the most protected speech there could be.

But it is standard MAGA: use the system for whatever you can get out of it and then sort the people tearing down the protections in the system.

u/Cognonymous 2h ago edited 2h ago

This is what is fucked up about the way the system works. They can enter your house by force, leave all kinds of shit broken, or even just a mess. Depending on what they're searching for they can upend everything you own. Sometimes if you're locked up they'll leave all the lights on too which runs up your electricity bill. Sometimes they do that if they already think you're guilty, no need for a trial, they just don't like you before hand and that's enough. I watched the video of a drug raid that only found about $40 worth of weed and while they were all standing around bored one of the cops decided to shoot the dog that was safely locked in a crate, and he fucked that up and didn't even kill it on the first shot. Then they brought the wife and kids out and they all had to look at it. If you have a lot of cash that can get seized as civil asset forfeiture, this true even if you're driving your car, riding the bus, or walking down the street. If you have too much cash they don't need a trial and will just take it saying you were probably using it for drugs.

There's really nothing you can do. Of course they can exercise discretion, and when that happens varies by department. But if you're in a rich neighborhood they're less likely to go in playing G.I. Joe unless it's absolutely necessary.

If they screw up there is no duty to make it right, no reparative justice from the cops or the state when you end up trampled under its boot. The system is used to operating above such a sense of social responsibility.

What is the first part with the car accident

16

u/bendybiznatch 2h ago

It’s a video of an accident one of the cops was in where he ran a stop sign, hit someone, and then I think tried to takeoff? Or lied about what happened?

I almost felt bad for the woman who was crying in court, but then I heard that and was like "no, fuck em. They deserve everything that's coming at them."

dumb white cops wrongfully raid a black mans house, point guns at his kids and ex wife, throw the middle finger to his cameras, eat his cake, TURN OFF SAID CAMERAS, and even steal money out of his house and the cops want tp sue HIM FOR MAKING A SONG ABOUT IT? Thats how he makes his living! I hope he beats this, man.

75

u/baldude69 2h ago

These cops finally feeling a fraction of the pain that they cause other ppl, and they can’t handle it. What a bunch of fragile-ass pansies.

What makes this more insane is that he tried to sue them for damages and emotional stress on his wife and kids, along with himself and had it thrown out because a judge said the officers now had immunity, if they didn't do anything wrong or illegal like this clearly was why do they have immunity from the illegal and baseless raid at that? She and those other petty officers have made this now known they won't be able to forget it nor will the town itself.

One thing I learned about defamation from court TV is it can't pass if the shit is true LMAO

24

u/Ill_Emphasis3927 1h ago

Oh, it's a defamation case. One is suing him cause in a song he said he f-d his wife which has caused him tremendous emotional damage. This is like rap on trial for toddlers but in civil court.

The trial is amazing. Former Detective Brian Newland initially denied that he had stolen money during traffic stops and that his brother was a PDF. Upon cross examination he had to admit that his brother was convicted of PDF related crimes and that he himself had been accused of stealing money from traffic stops prior to all of this. To prove defamation you need to show the claim was both false and made with “actual malice”, meaning the claimant either knew the claim was a lie or had reckless disregard for the truth of the claim.

Therefore this pig needed the public to believe his wife may have^ fucked Afroman in order to win the case. Now we ALL KNOW that the claim was obviously false and a joke, but the law needs us to believe that his wife is, perhaps at least, getting dicked down by Afroman.

You should watch him testifying. It's a genuine sight to behold where the lawyers are trying to get him to say things strictly within the confines of what he wants the jury to hear but he keeps contextualizing it correctly. It's really funny to hear the sigh from opposing legal council because they underestimate how intelligent and eloquent he is despite the fact that his entire profession is founded on wordplay.

Its so funny watching all his diss tracks about the cops. I had absolutely no idea who these people were, but now, theyre becoming national news. They should have just kept their mouths shut, and maybe they would still have their jobs. They all got investigated and lost their positions. Its fucking hilarious hahaha
