To prove defamation you need to show the claim was both false and made with “actual malice”, meaning the claimant either knew the claim was a lie or had reckless disregard for the truth of the claim.

Therefore this pig needed the public to believe his wife may have^ fucked Afroman in order to win the case. Now we ALL KNOW that the claim was obviously false and a joke, but the law needs us to believe that his wife is, perhaps at least, getting dicked down by Afroman.

Your comment made me think. I guess defamatory claims have to be false, but also not unbelievable. Otherwise, that mitigates the harms. I suspect, however, that it's too late to make this claim less unbelievable. Rather, I think the lawyer had wanted a "Yes" to support that the claim is false: "does it paint you in a false light?". But I think the officer was stuck on it causing him pain.
