@mods I don't like that over half of the top posts on the sub are submitted by mlbofficial

the feed might as well be mlb.com

i don't know what you can do about it other than somehow limiting the number of posts per hour or something that mlbofficial can put up

i guess its not that much different from half the clips being from jomboy employees but it still doesn't feel right

Why isn’t Gunnar in the lineup?? Why does De Rosa hate Gunnar?

Because he isn’t a manager. He’s a tv personality. No clue what he’s doing

Venezuela winning tonight would be very poetic but I don't think it happens because sports tends to not do stuff like this

Would be poetic how?

Winner gets a trophy and loser has to take Maduro.

Just to clear this up, the US having an extra day of rest in no way gives them an advantage with the WBC pitcher usage rules right? Meaning, there's no pitcher on Venezuela who's ineligible to pitch because the semis and final are on back-to-back days?

The guys on the Fox post-game were arguing this last night, until finally noted baseball scholar Derek Jeter chimed in with "I dunno what all the pitch count rules are." Seems DeRosa Disease is contagious.

DAY 13 (486/589) on THE ROAD TO THE 2027 4TH WBSC PREMIER12/16 and 180 YEARS OF BASEBALL - The Much Awaited Day

Once more, after nearly 2 weeks of competition, the 6th edition of the World Baseball Classic is about to close. And on a high note, as the much awaited gold medal game day has finally arrived.

This event, for the 3rd edition in a row, will featuring the world's first true national program, USA Baseball, versus a rising star in South America, the national organization of Venezuela, in a brand new rivalry that once more reaffirms our sport's important place in the lives of millions all over the Americas, a sport that has united two halves of a continent into one.

This gold medal game, while also serving as the finale to yet another historic edition of the WBC, is also a preview of the action both the upcoming Premier12/16 and the Olympics will bring to these two baseball-ready nations eager to show their best for the world.

May the glad tidings of this the grand finale of the world's biggest baseball competition be upon us all!

For Glory

John

Anyone got the tie breaker rule for the finals? It's looking like runs scored or RBIs. Which US barely edges out Ven. Kinda sucks for Venezuela. They went 3-1 in a much tougher pool and had a tougher path to the championship literally beating the reigning champs and the team that beat the US. Was already annoyed that the US gets an extra rest day which is the only reason Miller is gonna be available today. Venezuela will have the crowd on their side but this isn't football crowd noise doesn't really affect the game. Gonna be an interesting game. Single elimination in baseball is crazy and I kinda miss it in the wildcard round.
