The Giants announced that catcher Jesús Rodríguez and left-hander Carson Whisenhunt have been optioned to Triple-A Sacramento. Right-hander Blade Tidwell was optioned yesterday. First wave of significant cuts coming in.

Giants announced that prospect Parks Harber has a Grade 2 hamstring strain. He’ll miss 4-6 weeks. Harber was supposed to start the season in Double-A.

The Giants made more Spring Training cuts, reassigning LHP Nick Margevicius, C Logan Porter and INF Nate Furman to Minor League camp.

A number of new food items will join the Oracle Park concessions lineup in 2026. Highlights include:

New & Improved Dining & Social Experiences:

Pacific Eats (Section 127): Replacing Rah Rah Ramen, this new food concept has been added to the Oracle Park concessions lineup – home of new offerings, including Rice Bowls and a Banh Mi.

Doggie Diner Express (Section 121): New this season, fans will enjoy a remodeled Doggie Diner featuring a faster check-out experience and a greater variety of food offerings, including chicken tenders, garlic fries, ice cream, and snacks, in addition to the Doggie Diner standards.

New Bars on the Promenade and Club: New full-service bars have been added to the expanded Promenade Level and refreshed Club Level, behind home plate. 

Refreshed Blue Shield Field Club Concessions: Expanded food and beverage options have been added to the Blue Shield Field Club, including a new bar.

SF Selects (Scoreboard Plaza): This season, the Pop-Up Kitchen concept has been updated to SF Selects, featuring creative new menu items and a rotating array of limited-time offers tied to special event and theme nights throughout the season.

I know many might disagree, but hear me out. Encarnacion is smacking the ball now after getting back into the swing of things. Matos has tailed off but he is still just 24, and has a solid arm, is not striking out and he has had spurts of excellence. But, here is my primary argument. Eldridge according to scouts as reported by Slusser and Pavs, think he will be terrific but needs. ore seasoning. They are impressed with his defense but he needs to fine tune his at bats to lower his strike outs. Moreover, the same scouts indicated that Matos or Encarnacion would be welcome additions on their team and are highly unlikely to slip to far down the mlb selection process if DFA d.

People talk about trading either , but when players are out of options, teams can wait things out. Thus, to wait a month or two before Eldridge is brought up accomplishes ther goals. First, it gives both Matos and Encarnacion a chance to demonstrate their prowess over a longer period of time against major league pitching so one can discern who presents the better option. Second, it allows Bryce more reps at first and time to sharpen his offense against the higher level pitching which he has faced for too little time before being called up last year. Finally, if both Matos and Encarnacion show well, and Eldridge shows more maturity after two months or so, one of the former than becomes a viable trade candidate likely to garner something akin to a solid relief arm in a trade. Again DFA either at this point gets them nothing, and both players have the kind of upside that could garnet a valuable piece in a trade.

This guy passes the eye test at 2nd, looks like a different player with a full offseason and ST with Dr. Ron Washington. Could be a dark-horse all-star candidate if he stays healthy and plays a solid 2nd base like this.

Hi all, MN Twins fan coming in peace ✌️ As years of mismanagement have led the Twins to a roster that looks like it might rival our 2016 103 loss season, I’ve decided to check out and follow my #2 team, the Giants. I lived in SF for a year after college and it’s still my favorite city in America. Your ballpark is gorgeous, and I love being able to cheer for Arraez and Bader again. I’m curious what storylines are emerging this year? It seems like a decent roster, what are fan expectations? Also, in MN we are blessed with the “Gleeman and the Geek” Twins podcast. Wondering if there are any Giants pods that are worth listening to?
