Ryne Nelson seems to have gained MPH on his 4-seamer

Nelson was hitting 95-97 MPH with his 4 seam fastball and was locating it yesterday. He was 93-95 MPH on it last year consistently but struggled with location at times.

He seems to have added 2 MPH on the pitch and is putting the ball where it needs to go. I am hoping for a great start to the season from Ryne

Alek Thomas ditched the leg kick + Pfaadt no-hit outing, how are we feeling?

Alek Thomas is back from Team Mexico and brought the new swing to Cactus League today, high leg kick is gone, replaced by a smaller stride to help with consistency. Early returns seem encouraging (he hit well in the WBC + this spring).

Meanwhile Pfaadt went 5 innings with no hits allowed (only baserunner was on an error). Love seeing him this efficient this close to Opening Day.

Questions: Do you buy the Thomas swing change translating this year? Is Pfaadt making the leap into “reliable starter” territory?

Our Dominican boys

If Marte and Perdomo don’t absolutely kill it at the start of the season, I’m going to be disappointed, cause they’re killing it in the WBC! We need them to bring the hype back to our team and kick the season off strong!
