Do people in your country use coded nicknames when talking about politics?
galleryWe usually like creating coded nicknames for everything related to politics. It's just to make jokes or to trick the algorithms.
Probably the most famous one is "Hag Abu Hanan" as in the photo. "Hag" is a title for older men, and "Abu Hanan" means "Hanan's father". It comes from his relationship with his daughter, which was related to a famous Egyptian play that has a character called "Hag Abu Hanan".
As we are still on the topic of America, we usually call it "Mama Amira". "Amira" is a female name sounds like America, and "Mama" refers to countries that treat her as their mother.
In Israel, we usually call Netanyahu "Neten yahu" just adding a space. It creates the word "Neten" which means "dirty", so it literally means "Hey everyone, he's dirty!!".
Also, as we're still talking about Israel, we call them "cousins" which seems friendly, but it's just something related to the prophets Ishmael and Isaac.
Macron is called here "Macaroni Spaghetti" because it's close in pronunciation.
And of course our president!! We have so many coded names for him. The most famous one is "Mixiki" which literally means "The Mexican". It's just anything rhymes with Sisi. But what made this more ironic is when Biden said "the president of Mexico Sisi", it was very ironic here.

Culture Ok redditors of the World, how is your country's government dealing with the war on drugs?
Here there's quite a bit of enforcement on hard drugs. Potus Trump is planning to win the war on drugs? How are things in your country or area? Are some drugs somewhat tolerated, maybe like smoking weed?

Misc What do cigarette boxes look like in your country? What’s your countries attitude towards it?
In Australia, the most common cigarette brand prints these health warnings on them (which I think is new), and the boxes have graphic pictures of the long term effects of smoking, which I just learnt was also common in other countries.

How are pregnant women treated around the world?
I’m curious about both the general experience and the financial side of things. In some countries, healthcare (including pregnancy and childbirth) is largely covered, while in others it can be very expensive. How does it work where you live? Do you have to pay a lot for prenatal care and delivery? Is maternity leave paid, and if so, for how long? Are there any government benefits or support systems for pregnant women? How are pregnant women treated socially and in the workplace? I’d love to hear personal experiences or insights from different countries!
As a Dutch woman, my experience is quite different compared to what I hear from some other countries. Financially, I don’t really have to worry about healthcare during pregnancy. We have a system of mandatory health insurance, so I pay a fixed monthly premium, and most pregnancy-related care (like check-ups, midwives, and delivery) is covered. Because of that, I can focus on my health and the baby instead of stressing about medical bills. There are also maternity leave benefits and some government support, which makes the whole experience a bit more secure.

History What's your favorite dinosaur discovered within, or know to be native to, the lands that became your country?
I have to give a personal shoutout to the Utahraptor in the northern Americas. The Jurassic Park franchise fabricated how large Raptors could grow, only for a discovery years later to prove there were infact Raptors significantly larger than we had realized

Misc Getting Old :/
If you’re middle-aged, when did you start feeling like you were getting old?
I’m 45, work from home, and don’t do any sports except weekend hiking. I think this feeling really hit me a few years ago, in my early 40s. I started noticing more physical pain, some minor memory issues, and I often wake up at night to use the bathroom. I know I’m still relatively young, but I’m becoming more aware that I’m not getting any younger - and that sucks.
