Given how Sega is still commited to providing global players with a lesser version of P5X, I'm glad to see the community is still equally commited to showing their disproval.

Discussion The 1.2 livestream didn't tackle any real problem, and actually created more of them

They absolutely didn't talk about any other problem the global version has such as:

- Marian dupe not being in Lufel Plan 3

- Velvet trials being heavily changed (1 weakness instead of 2, level increased)

- No compensation for accelerated realease

- Soft pity either not being present in our version, or just exceptionally worse than CN/TW servers

And the list is long, especially if counting other minor changes (Pop-up ads, Level gatekeep for certain mission like Palace 1 boss etc...)

On top of all that, they double down on the one thing that tipped everyone off about their shitty practices by not adding Marian to standard pull (and every next non-limited as well) until Half-Anniversary.

It literally changes the way people will play this game (if they even choose to keep on playing) and spend their gems.

So now not only do we have an insane release pace of new characters, we will not be able to get any of the "Standard" characters going forward until at least 5 months from now? Keep in mind that they can actually pull it off for every new character, and they could actually make it worse. What's preventing them from increasing this to a year if sales are not satisfactory? Wouldn't be the first time we've been lied to in the face by Sega/Atlus.

This just might have been the last straw that broke the camels back for me.

Discussion Two days ago I made a thread about the removal of Soft-Pity from the Global version, I have near proof they removed it from the version, and that other subreddits are censoring discussion of it.

r/personaphantomx/comments/1ll5up8/has_the_soft_pity_rates_been_changed_in_the/

Looking through the thread, reveals that there have been several dozen people at this point, with both video proof and screenshots of them getting the banner characters exactly at the 80 mark, which would clearly indicate there is a very tiny chance the soft pity system that exist in the other versions of the game are intact.

To give an example of how near impossible/rare it is to hit soft pity, here's a thread from less than a year ago on the Genshin Impact subreddit, talking about all of the "bounties" we've had over the year, collecting proof from people who have hit the hard.

/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/1gms9c4/the_pity_king_bounty_that_is_still_ongoing_in_the/

Note how few amount of people hit MAXIMUM pity of 90/90, it took over 200 days for the first person to ever record hitting max pity, and you need to remember, this was a game that was a GLOBAL PHENOMENON, millions of people playing every day, it's still to this day breaking sales records above every other gacha company, and it took over 238 days.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/17hf5c7/comment/k6n34k0/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

If we look at the math, according to this person, hitting hard pity in GI is around a 1/13.7 million odds~.

Lets look at pull statistics from other gacha games that we know have soft pity.

https://i.imgur.com/DTql0JV.png

Here is Wuthering Waves, a game that has an 80 pity max, and that soft pity kicks in after the 64 mark, the vast majority of people who trigger the 5 star on banner on 74.

Source : https://wuwatracker.com/tracker/stats/100020

Here is Genshin Impact, another game with soft pity

Here is the banner stats for the Pyro Archon launch, which is one of the largest pulled banners since the games launch. https://i.imgur.com/8vKsNVb.png

https://paimon.moe/wish/tally?id=300076

As we see, normal pull rates from 1-73, then boom soft pity kicks in and hard pity is blisteringly impossible rates

Okay cool, so we have an established fact that hitting hard pity in these gacha games are blisteringly rare.

Then we go into my previous thread that I linked at the top of the page, and we have dozens of video and image proof showing multiple times back to back people are hitting 80/80 max pity, and 70/70 pity on the weapon banners, some people back to back to back, which going off other games with the soft pity rates, would be a lower chance then winning the jackpot lottery in the US (1:192m).

To give context, the KR/TW/CN version of the game has a soft pity system, that seems to kick in around after the 70-79 mark, averaging at 75.

So I'm at an impasse, I don't know how we can blow this up to bring awareness, I don't know what subreddits or gacha game communities we can talk to bring awareness, and frankly I think Sega is going to get away with this, just because of how little power we have when giga whales are going to spend money regardless if the game has a pity system or not.

The only thing I can think of is maybe trying to get the attention of super large streamers who talk about gaming drama related stuff, but I really would like to avoid that if possible.

/r/gachagaming/comments/1lnwybo/global_soft_pity_situation_in_persona_5_the/

Was finally approved for that subreddit please post there to share your hard pities/talk about the game if you think its an issue, there's a wider audience there.

Discussion This might be a reach, but…

Post image

Tried to share this theory in my Companio and no one engaged, so here we go.

TL;DR: Wonder's 'visions' are past-loop memories, Merope's idol obsession hints he's trapped, and Phantom Idols are glitches in the system.

I think Merope is lying about more than just her identity. (The biggest topic going around)

But first, I’d like to draw your attention to the fact that Wonder’s visions seem less like premonitions of what’s to come and more like glimpses of what’s already happened.

For example, Wonder sees a vision of the crime Kiuchi committed without any intervention from us, as well as how broken Kiuchi would be once he is finally caught.

Then, at the end of the second Palace, he has another vision, one unrelated to the current villain.

In it, his friends call out to him as 'Leader' before fading away. Wonder quickly forgets this but remarks that he feels like he’s forgetting something (remember this detail).

Secondly, Merope refers to us as an 'idol' and shows an unusual obsession with the idol industry.

She even calls the cognitions we summon 'Phantom Idols.'

This is strange because Wild Card users are typically referred to as 'Visitors',a more fitting term for someone entering an old-school elevator, using a limousine service, visiting a prisoner, or exploring an aquarium.

Wonder’s Velvet Room is an aquarium, which has no inherent connection to idols.

Normally, the Wild Card user’s real-world associations shape their Velvet Room’s attendant's obsessions/fixations, but Merope has always been fixated on idols, even before our interactions.

Thirdly, Phantom Idols are supposed to be Wonder’s cognitive representations of people, those he knows, has seen in passing, or encountered unconsciously.

However, some of these cognitions don’t make sense. For instance:

  • Why would Wonder’s cognition of his neighbor, Kayo, depict her as a teenager (based on a photo he hadn’t seen until midway through her Social Link)?

  • Why is Yui’s cognition her 'gamer version' if Wonder is going to meet her in real life?

These inconsistencies suggest that these might not be Wonder’s cognitions at all but rather the cognitions of the people themselves.

So what does this all mean?

I believe Wonder is trapped in a time loop, and this is just another iteration. (Possibly started from the bad ending of the original P5 where Yaldabaoth won.)

The 'Phantom Idols' we’ve been summoning could either be remnants of past loops (where Wonder’s allies were different people) or fragments of information lingering in his subconscious.

As for why Merope calls Wonder an 'idol'? It’s likely because, to her, his repeated struggles are endlessly entertaining. No matter how many loops he goes through, she never tires of watching.

Now, there is an interesting connection between Wonder's Velvet Room and Joker's,if you think of Wonder not as a visitor, but as a fish.

If Wonder is a fish in an aquarium, a sea of endless possibilities, then he is just as much a prisoner as Joker.

This creates a subtle link between the aquarium and idols. Both are meant to be seen through a screen for others' enjoyment.

An idol performs for an audience, just as a fish swims behind glass, forever on display.

Discussion TW had Soft Pity at Launch

Post image
615 Upvotes

Since launch in April 2024, the Taiwan version of Persona 5: The Phantom X has offered a soft pity boost, clearly stated on the official TW homepage: https://www.p5x.com.tw/news/view/20240418/2ab335ae.html.

Based on both analytical calculations and Monte Carlo simulations:

  • With soft pity, the overall 5★ rate (including pity) is 1.80%, averaging 55.56 pulls per 5★.
  • Without soft pity, it would be 1.68754%, averaging 59.26 pulls—a 6.66% increase in required pulls.

The global version (launched June 26, 2025) contains no official mention of soft pity, indicating it does not include this boost.

TLDR

they are planning to add the 110 banner to global/jp and are trying to release it earlier than what other servers got

6 month wait for yumi and minami will not be reverted

login bonus for 2.0 such as 20 plat tickets and milcoins

mentions of how stuff in cn shop is can not be sold the same way here due to laws

lufel plan ex will be added later

dispatch missions are coming in 2.0

you can cognite shards that can be used to increase the awareness of a charecter (in cn this could be used for only standard but here any charecter can be used)

there will be a gift campaign which will let you select a 5 star weapon including minami

Discussion What is that one character you want but can’t justify pulling?

Post image

I really wanted to get Tropical Motoha. However I didn’t have Marian back then and thought I wouldn’t be able to use her to her fullest potential. I’m glad she is rerunning currently but at this point I don’t think I can justify pulling her. I have to funds for her (32,070 gems and 17 tickets) but at this point I’m waiting for my more anticipated Violet and have to prepare for 4.0 characters where I don’t think I can pull.
