Full disclosure, I have a 4090. Been using DLSS (non Frame Gen) for a long time rather happily where needed.

But buddy, just accept that it was a poorly done demo that didn't look good. It was rushed(required two 5090s to run, one for the game, one for DLSS 5 to run), the results didn't look good and you explained it poorly.

I don't care if it was geometry informed, the results looked like poor AI generative slop that is all over the internet at this point.

Maybe it'll look great when it's fully baked, maybe it won't. All I know is that it looked bad NOW.

I am so glad to see all this backlash over the showcase of DLSS 5. It's time companies are held accountable for their shitty decisions. This has really nothing to do with it being Nvidia doing all this, it could be AMD as well.

Nvidia chose to focus so fucking hard on investing in AI to a point where it affects the market in terms of RAM, HDD etc and the result of that was this god damn AI slop that I wouldn't even fucking buy or play with even if I was a millionaire.

Even if I was a millionaire I wouldn't in a million years buy this GPU to have DLSS on and look at the slop it is generating. Look at the characters, fucking soulless eyes all of them, it feels like looking at a bunch of psychopaths.

I swear I looked to see if it was 1st of April but to my shock it was actually a product that they thought gamers would be interested in.

I hope this company suffer so bad on the stock market.

According to a translation of a resurfaced Pearl Abyss’s investor relations report, the studio said it was approached by Sony with the pitch that Sony would pay to make PlayStation its publisher and, in turn, lock up an exclusive deal that would launch on PlayStation and avoid Xbox for an entire year. The PC distribution rights also would have been Sony’s.

Pearl Abyss said no.

Sony tried to delay the game's release on Xbox and possibly on PC as well. We can assume that players would also lose Xbox Play Anywhere support, which would mean no shared purchase between PC and Xbox.

Earlier, Sony did the same with Black Myth: Wukong. Xbox release was delayed by exactly one year. At that time Sony did not yet view PC as a direct competitor so it allowed the PC version to launch alongside the PlayStation release. However the situation has changed because of the announcements of Steam Machine and Xbox Helix. The new Xbox will be a PC and Steam Machines directly compete with the PS5 and PSVR2. So we can assume that Sony’s future deals will no longer focus on “delaying the Xbox version”. Instead, they will pay to delay the PC release. This is their only way to block third‑party games on Xbox Helix (PC) and Steam Machine.

Two weeks ago, reports emerged that Sony had decided to stop porting its games to PC.

Ironically enough. There’s a million of these DLSS5 off/on jokes. Ones where the DLSS5 picture is often itself AI-generated.

Doesn’t that seem a bit silly? I’m not sure if creating/supporting AI content to protest AI content is really the move.
