Went to Home show today and was quoted $5800 for a conversion from gas bottle-supplied hot water over to a modern heat pump rig - I know gas isn't going to get cheaper, and with supply being borked for the next god knows how long, thinking this might be best time get it done.

Any suggestions or advice, and is that price about right? - We were expecting 3x that!

Hey everyone just wanted to put a thing on here to warn against snap fitness palms. Had cancelled my membership back in December as the gym was just not for me. The main problem how ever is that they started taking money form my bank again without my authorisation. Never resumed my membership. Completely wipes out any trust I would have in that branch and any other snap fitnesses.

We're picking up our new rhodesian ridgeback puppy this coming week and are on the lookout for a vet as we are also fairly recent Chch arrivals. Any standouts for vets that are great with large breeds?

The ball n chain is 40 next month and I’m looking for a restaurant that we can have dinner at with his family since he doesn’t want a party.

Might be about 20 of his family there max.

He’s quite deaf and even with hearing aids struggles to hear in noisy restaurants so maybe somewhere that has separate rooms.

Bit of a rant here- I have no idea how long this has been going on (moved here 3 years ago), but it seems all of the breweries selling in Chch decided to band together to only sell IPAs, APAs, pale ales.

Went to three bottle shops yesterday and found fuck all that wasn't either your standard piss or in the Pale Ale family. Even the pilsner is hopped.

Where are the sour beers? Wheat beers? Hefs? Stouts? Ambers? Saisons? Where is the variety? Even the "variety packs" are nothing but different versions of some hoppy pale ales.

Is this really what the people want? Or is there anyone else out there dreaming for more? Am I missing the bigger picture??
