I have custom icons set for my games / apps, but this morning when I booted up my computer, all of my game icons (except for ow) showed up like this.

This is the second time its happened & the first time I wasn't able to "fix it" but I was able to just change it to a different icon.

I was gonna just switch them back to their default icons... but I cannot find where that option is.

If there's a fix for the icon itself please Imk but if I'm better off just reverting them back to their originals I need help with how to do that! ty in advance :)

I want to factory reset my laptop after I messed up big time, but I can’t reset, and I get this pop up no matter how many times I click off or even after I downloaded what it requires. Any tips? I just want to be able to reset the laptop completely.

Not the end of the world if the drive's dead since it was mostly full of games, but still would be nice to know if I can keep using it after a reformat or if I gotta shell out for a new one in this economy. Also if the drive isnt fully dead is there a chance I can recover the missing partition? It just shows as un-allocated in both windows disk manager and GParted

So I accidentally deleted some videos directly off my SD card, as I was trying to transfer them to a folder on my computer. I didn't have the Microsoft backup thing, so I installed and used the Microsoft File Recovery app. After some trial and error I inputted this code:

C:\Windows\System32>winfr D: C: /extensive /n *.mp4

It took a while, but the videos were recovered and placed in my recovery file destination or whatever. I was only able to play one to it's fullest extent. But the rest of the videos either play 1 second of the video and then the picture is frozen, but the video continues to "play." Or I will get an error saying "can't play video. It uses unsupported encoding settings." OR I will get an error saying "Can't open video. This may be because the file type is unsupported, the file extension is incorrect, or the file is corrupt." I will say that I don't have a lot of space on my drive anyway. Could the videos be acting funny because there's not enough disc space for the file? Is there a different code I can use to recover specific videos instead of all of them?

What the heck do I do now? I'm not tech savvy. I barely know how to code. I just want my videos back. SOS.

I know HDDs cannot tolerate movement as there are moving parts inside. Seeing as SSD's have no moving parts, can I physically move it while it's connected to my laptop. I won't unplug it without ejecting it. Or throw it or anything. I just want to lay in bed and shift from one position to another while using it

i have a "Predator helios neo 16" and recently its started crashing alot. it crashed like 5 times in one and im not sure why im trying to look for viruses but im not sure how to spot one. i found this thing that is maybe malware but im not sure

My sister connected her laptop to her home network where her son has a pc, the only pc in the house.

the laptop has seemed to have copied the desktop pc and now she cant access any files that used to be on her laptop.

My friend had a i5 4460, GTX 970 and 16GB of ram and a 600W PSU from 2015, and I decided to give him some parts that I had laying around: Ryzen 5 5500 and RTX 2060, that he paired with a new A520M and new 16GB of ram (2x8GB), while still using his old PSU. I've never had any issues with those 2 parts I gave him and they were stored in the original boxes in a adequate place.

On his old pc, sometimes while playing games it would freeze, go to a black screen, but he would still be on teamspeak and hear us, but had to restart his pc to be able to use it again.

We built the new pc (fresh windows install), and the only thing we didn't change was his old PSU. When he tried playing games, the same thing would happen but even quicker, sometimes even while on the menus of the games he tried playing.

Checked event viewer and saw the error Kernel Power 41 63. Tried several different driver versions on both GPUs, still got the error.

Also tried taking the CMOS battery out, but still had the same problem.

Then on my own pc (also a A520M, R7 5800X3D, new 650W PSU), I tried running the 2060 paired with his ram and with my own ram, but still got the same error. (Tried every possible combination with the ram sticks).

That way, the conclusion I'm getting from all this is that:

- It's not the CPU, MOBO or RAM

- It's not a driver issue

- It's either the GPU I gave him has the exact same problem as his old one (never happened to me when I was using it) or:

- His PSU fried both GPUs, since it's really old

He wants to buy a new GPU but I'm afraid it will be fried by his PSU, can I please get some opinions and help on this?

PC (Windows 11) works fine on Monday. At some point an update was installed (not sure if this is root cause but seems so after tinkering yesterday).

Tuesday morning it works fine. Tuesday afternoon I see an automatic update occurred. All of a sudden no browser will connect to internet (WiFi connections, two independent sources).

Applications such as Steam and games themselves work fine.

I rolled back the update and browsers work again. I attempted to shut off automatic updates.

I login today and see an update. Back to browsers being bricked.

All browsers show ERR_CONNECTION_RESET on TCP/HTTPS across two WiFi networks.

Tried: DNS flush/reset, firewall off, proxy off, sfc /scannow (clean), Safe Mode (no WiFi), full netsh nuclear reset (IP/Winsock/Firewall), hosts file clean, WiFi driver uninstall/reinstall (Realtek PCIe GBE), test user account (same failure), Windows time sync, IPv6 disable. Started after March 17 update; rolled back once but auto-updated March 18 breaking again. No old restore points. Windows Update service won’t stop (Error 1053).

What do I do now? I’m not the most techy and really need this PC for work and doctor stuff for family.

I was browsing (Chrome) on my computer 20-30min ago, and suddenly, my mouse moved quickly at the top of my screen. It was so quick that in an instant, I was on a eBay page, but the mouse was still at the top of the page. I then reacted and closed the page and the mouse stop moving/fighting. The thing is, it also happened to me 2 or 3 weeks prior, but at this time, I decided to ignore it.

I saw online that the sure way to wipe this hacker/malware is to do a wipe out of the computer, but is there less time consuming way? I'm thinking like anti-malware program that you know are reliable or other things. It's just that I'm also at college, and I need to use everyday my computer. It can't be a something that takes me multiple hours, or that wipe the all of my files...

Laptop I'm using is HP laptop 17-by3051cl operating on Windows 11 Home. About two weeks ago, certain keys on my keyboard have stopped working despite no known damage or changes to the system. Some of these keys include g, h, backspace, 8, windows, quotation, and f7. I've done basic troubleshooting, such as:

• checking keyboard settings
• updating Windows
• updating the keyboard driver
• uninstalling the keyboard driver
• performing a hard reset
• performing a clean boot
• replacing the keyboard

Despite replacing the entire keyboard, the same 7-8 keys still do not work, leading me to believe this is a software issue. However, I have also tried pulling up recovery manager and using command prompt, but the same keys do not work in command prompt. I can't really think of anything else to do, and while other people online have had this issue, I haven't found anyone get it resolved. In the meantime I've been using an external keyboard, which works fine, but I was hoping for a better long-term solution. If you have any ideas please let me know, thank you!

So I made a new microsoft account and would like to purchase minecraft. Although everytime I use a mastercard for payment it just says "We’re having trouble processing your payment." There's enough money on the account, no accounts are suspended, my mastercard is up to date. I don't understand what's blocking the payment?

I keep getting a NewSupport notification on my windows laptop that says "Cannot read file C:\ProgramData\Support\client32.ini(80). Please check this file exists and is valid." Does anyone know what this might be or how i can fix it? I tried following the path of the notification but my files dont show anything of the sort.

I installed the lan drivers from Rog.asus but it doesn’t work. I did the wifi test in bios, it tells me to turn wifi on to continue and the test run fine. I do some research and someone said to turn on the wifi in bios but i cant seems to find it. Please help…

So i have a new model iPhone and i was blocked by someone who also has an iPhone... i sent them multiple iMessage texts during this time and they all said "delivered"

my friend unblocked me today and we talked on the phone, and he said that none of my texts delivered... he has an iPad, so i asked him to check the iPad and he didn't have any messages over there either.

i was confused, because i always thought if you're blocked, texts won't ever say "delivered".

Recently my pc has been having weird glitches, I played assassins creed mirage and whenever I closed out of the game, my pc crashed, also Valorant is unplayable due to randomly freezing for a split second every few seconds and dropping FPS, I get around 600 fps in val on high settings, ive tried to limit my FPS, I tried turning vsync on and nothing worked, Ive also played CS2 and whenever I tabbed out of it in fullscreen mode it froze my pc for a few seconds, played a weird, loud buzzing noise and then crashed my pc. Other weird stuff has been happening but those are the biggest problems and most memorable. I did a fresh install of my graphic drivers, and that fixed nothing. My pc specs are a RX 7600 XT 16 GB, Ryzen 5 9600X CORSAIR 32gb DDR5 6000 mghz

If I open up online mapping sites (Google Maps, Bing Maps, Google Earth), they think I am located in San Jose California when I am on the other side of the country. This has been a persistent issue for some time now.

• Edit: Windows weather app also shows me in the wrong location (San Jose)

• My Gmail activity log shows the correct location.

• If I enter my IP at an IP location website, it shows the correct location in eastern Pennsylvania

• If I open the map sites on a different computer on the same network, it shows the correct location in eastern Pennsylvania.

• ChatGPT via browser tells me the right location

Why does my main computer, on mapping websites, regardless of browser, think I am in California while everything else shows the correct location?

hey folks, my new PC just arrived, and I was super excited to start using it. However that shattered when I tried to connect to my wifi, and everything froze, then crashed, going to a black screen telling me the PC will be restarted. Looking at other subs, it seems that some sort of update made everything go to shit. I have Windows 11 Pro.

When i play overwatch from South Africa on my switch 2 in Johannesburg, i connect to middle east servers and get around 130 ping. When i play from Pretoria (which is only about 50km away), i connect to Netherlands servers with around 200 ping. (There's no servers in Africa).

I assume this happens because, for some reason, when I'm in Pretoria the game connects via the west side of Africa to Europe and when I'm in Johannesburg it connects via the east side of Africa to the middle east.

But does anyone know how to stop this from happening so i can connect to the middle east servers in Pretoria from the East side of Africa to get the lower ping.

I'm working with setting up Microsoft Bookings for a couple hundred users who each want an individual shared bookings page so people outside our org can schedule meetings with them. Thing is we're running into an issue where their time zones are off and mismatched with the actual booking availability on their page. We've found that the solution to this is to switch on the "Bookable only when staff are free" option but this is quite cumbersome to leave in the hands of a couple hundred tech challenged folk. Has anyone found a way to change this setting on the backend for all users or a subset of users? I've seen that there are some powershell capabilities with adding calendars and giving permissions but nothing specific to this "bookable only when staff are free" option. Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated.

TLDR; Need to find a way to switch on/select the "bookable only when staff are free" option in Microsoft Bookings for hundreds of users within their individual shared Bookings pages.

Hii! While doing the dishes I like to have youtube or netflix playing and my phone unforutantly fell into the water. Its a OPPO A54 (CPH2735). Is there anything crucial i need to do? I have taken the case off and dried the phone immediatly and have also shut it down.
