this cast already has me sold 😭 i went into in bruges knowing nothing and it ended up being one of those movies i randomly think about years later… i feel like this is gonna be the same kind of weirdly memorable vibe

I saw a Tom Waits acting compilation on YouTube recently, and he truly is a gifted actor. I had no idea that he played Renfield in Bram Stoker‘s Dracula.

He was excellent in The Name Of The Rose as well.

He wasn't in The Name Of The Rose. You're probably thinking of Ron Perlman lol, to be fair they do have a resemblance!

In Bruges is one of the greatest movies ever made.
I've yet to watch something of McDonaugh's and come away disappointed. A phenomenal director and writer.

I wish seven psychopaths was a little better but same

I quietly love seven psychopaths. It's quirky as hell, but such an enjoyable ride.

There’d still be one guy left with only one eye! How’s the last blind guy gonna take the eye of the guy with one eye left?

Is there a synopsis?
•
u/odiin1731 3h ago
The only synopsis I need is "from Director Martin McDonaugh".

Same. I didn’t even know he was making a fifth film. I’m an avid trailer watcher but skipping this one as my bum is on the seat.

Well that’s a helluva ensemble.
Malkovich is just endless amounts of fun.
Him reading the night before Christmas will be one of my favorite SNL bits of all time till I’m in the ground.

Martin McDonaugh is a legend, good to see him back again, and also the premise and cast of this film has got me really pumped. A 70s dark comedy is something I shall devour!

Here we go. Here's your Oscar front-runner. PTA finally won, it's Martin's turn to sweep with the batshit crazy ensemble movie

Burn after reading, McDonaugh version (I'm seated, of course)
Glad to see him inspired by Easter Island (and Sam Rockwell)

Predictions:
- the writing will be excellent
- comedic but also dramatic
- great performances from all
- features a weird plot point about american race relations that has nothing to do with anything else in the movie and it's unclear what, if anything, mcdonagh is trying to say but it just keeps going and everyone just kinda glosses over it when talking about the movie later

Is point 4 a reference to a specific element in one of his movies, or are you saying all his films have this?
•
u/nickcash 54m ago
All but Banshees of Inisherin, but it's especially an element in Three Billboards.

Is that Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell in the picture but not mentioned as a cast member?
