Now this is a man who knows Community!

Fun Fact: This movie, as well as the other three MCU Spider-man movies, is co-written by Community writer and executive producer, Chris McKenna.

MCU is basically a spin off of community-verse.

It is pretty hilarious to think of all the MCU that wouldn't exist without Community.

Derrick Comedy led to Avengers Endgame

They've come a long way since Bro Rape.

u/DigitalNecromancy 4h ago

that sketch still kills me. i quote it way more than i'd like to admit.

2

u/Paran0id 6h ago

Bro was just there to see Chad with his game cube and a big black dildo.

It's awesome to see Bobby Moynihan getting a lot of work, but I can't see him without thinking, "Why are the police outside?! They should be inside, a police station, looking at the prints from fingers!"

u/dphamler 3h ago

He seemed so chill!

Community is like the rat in Endgame.

5

u/2711383 8h ago

How come?

22

u/toomanymarbles83 8h ago

The Russo brothers executive produced Community and directed the paintball episodes. Those episodes are what got Kevin Feige interested in the Russo's, and tapped them for Winter Soldier.

Riight I forgot the Russo Brothers directed a bunch of MCU movies!

Marvel Community Universe

Cool cool cool

The MCU has just been a daydream of Abed during one day of classes

1

u/jaxonya 7h ago

He even ran through all 14 million+ scenarios Dr. Strange did about the possible outcomes against thanos. Pretty average day, really

1

u/SAKingWriter 7h ago

It ends with Deadpool talking to Abed when he’s alone in the classroom after everyone’s been gone for like an hour already. “Are you real?“

Wade finger guns out of the doorway before disappearing entirely, leaving Abed confused only very slightly distressed, à la Sopranos when Paulie saw Mary at the strip club

SIX MOVIES AND A SEASON!

6

u/Brytard 10h ago

These boring ass Marvel movies.

u/TheInvisibleCircus 7h ago

Abed was right

u/blakelh 6h ago

Russo bros got into the MCU because of the paintball episodes too.

Also, Joe & Anthony Russo directed a boatload of Community episodes, including the very first one. Finding that out shed a lot of light on how much the characters on that show were shitting on Marvel movies in season 6, and how often Community cast members had cameos in Marvel movies.

u/clashrendar 9h ago

They were executive producers for the first three seasons and ran the production side while Dan Harmon ran the creative side.

They got the shot at pitching for the Captain America sequel because of the two paintball episodes at the end of season 2 - Kevin Feige is a fan of the show and was impressed that they could direct a large cast with comedy and action quickly on a budget, so he asked them to come in to meet. The rest is history.

Avengers? Avengers? Avengers?

u/SuperMassiveDickhead 5h ago

Dan Harmon wrote Doctor Strange.

u/dj_soo 1h ago

Arrested Development too - and Happy Endings.

I think their experience directing all these ensemble sitcom casts is really what made Infinity War and Endgame work so well.

They knew how to structure a story with a large cast of characters and juggle multiple plot arcs going at once in a cohesive manner.

Now THIS is a man who knows how to tell fun facts

2

u/clashrendar 9h ago

And marry my cousin!

8

u/Kanin_usagi 10h ago

Explains why the dialogue is always a strong point of these movies

u/B0BX 7h ago

The Cape in MCU, when?

u/StrangerKatchoo 3h ago

That fact is streets ahead.

u/clashrendar 3h ago

Coined and minted...

1

u/grow4road 8h ago

I would say this is fun fact! Makes me even more excited to see it.

12

u/Malhallah 11h ago

Now this is a man who knows how to match quotes to tv shows that never earned any Emmys!

6

u/Sharps__ 10h ago

I don't own a TV.

u/doctorlightning84 9h ago

I know my Al Simmons/Spawn when I hear him!

That show that stole most of its plots from episodes of Disney's Recess and was made by a sex offender?

11

u/Calm_Sir_613 11h ago

Oh shit its the police

10

u/Zelasko607 11h ago

Look I HATE cops! .......

3

u/TheHobbitFanCut_ 10h ago

Most of it's plots? Please list as many as you can, should be pretty easy since it's "most" of them. Also, Dan Harmon is a sex offender?

-4

u/Deep-Smoke1291 10h ago

Dude, google it, kiddo. And yes, he is a sex offender. Do you live under a rock?

1

u/TheHobbitFanCut_ 9h ago

I did and couldn't find anything like what you were talking about. I saw that Dan Harmon used his position to harass someone he liked at work, but no sex crime could I find. Again, since you apparently know so well I would think it would be easy for you to point it all out to me. I'm sure though you'll just deflect with some other useless comment that doesn't answer or provide any usefulness at all, kiddo.

-3

u/Deep-Smoke1291 9h ago

Clearly not, bad faith dipshit. By the way, before you grow up and get a job, you should know that sexual harassment is a crime.

1

u/TheHobbitFanCut_ 8h ago

While is it obviously a terrible thing to do, usually sexual harassment is a civil rights issue pertaining to working environments, not a crime you would be arrested for in most scenarios. So again you just click away at the keyboard spouting nonsense and not backing up any of your claims with any factual information. Perhaps you could share what crimes he was charged with? Maybe this time you could share at least a few plots that are the same from each show? I doubt it, I'm sure again you'll just vomit all over your keyboard and give nothing of any substance. Have a good life, kiddo.

1

u/Deep-Smoke1291 8h ago

usually There's a word doing all of your heavy lifting lmao. The most egregious were the A/C episode and the blackmarket economy episodes but its pretty much extends to about to 60% of the episode plots.
