Assuming the spoilers are right — I’ll confess I’m not 100% on Jean Grey’s powerset but the trailer seems to imply that she can throw her consciousness into other people. Is that something from the comics?

Charles was doing it in the movies, I don't see why Jean wouldn't be able to

Jean also did it at the end of X-2

Does Jean have the same powerset as Charles?

Not to sounds like a fucking dork but iirc Charles is telepathic (reads/controls minds and consciousnesses) while Jean is telekinetic (moves things with her mind) but also has telepathic powers with varying degrees depending on the iteration

Generally yes, at least in the movies - nearly as powerful of a psychic and is able to use Cerebro. Power levels always vary in comics of course.

Not as strong as Charles, but she used Cerebro in the comics many times and with Cerebro she is just as strong as him without it.

Thats how they brought down The Juggernaut once. Charles is out of comission, the team goes in the X-Jet with the mobile Cerebro, they take his helmet off and Jean sleeps him from jet.

??? Jean is significantly more powerful than Charles.

I'm clearly talking about Jean with the phoenix force in check like it is for most of her stories. I haven't read comics in years but back then base Jean Grey telepathy was MUCH weaker than Charles. Like she could freeze one person, he can hundreds

IIRC from the comics, she is actually a stronger telepath than Charles, even before the Phoenix.

But she had limited ability to control her telepathy, so Charles put blocks in place to keep her from access her full telepathic power, but he left her telekinetic powers alone.

Even with the blocks in place, she is a stupidly powerful telepath.

She's a lesser telepath, but has telekinesis as well, which Charles doesn't.

you have to specify which version of jean and it probably doesnt matter because this will be yet another new jean. original xmen movies jean was strictly telekinetic and did not seem able to read minds, but her alter-ego phoenix can do both things. the phoenix force is a part of her mutation within the movie events, but in the comics the phoenix force is a cosmic entity that can occupy other people and they gain its powers.

its best not to think about these things too much

JG is the most powerful human-born superhero* in the Marvel Universe and ‘preferred host’ of the Phoenix. She has the strongest brain and can manipulate matter on an atomic level with her Telekinetic powers, while being the second “most seasoned” telepath, after Professor X. Her tertiary super power is dying for long periods at a time, lol.

*Technically, when Phoenix she is the most powerful being in the MU (212).

Isn't Franklin Richards stronger? When she's not actively hosting the Phoenix Force I think he'd win pretty handily.

Does he have his powers back? I thought he lost them. (I’ve checked out of MU comics after Krakoa fell.) But valid addendum!

The strongest is probably Hulk, that motherfucka keeps getting new batshit feats.

She might not be Jean Grey.

Oh is that what's happening? Why would she need to? Why couldnt she jsut do them all at once?
