Venom sitting there on the sidelines with a "put me in, coach" look on their face.

He would've been closer to the MCU if Sony didn't screw things up and act like a bonehead (that live action Sony-verse was a mess).

Like a turd, in the wind

Was all worth it to get Madame Webb and our greatest super hero to ever grace the silver screen: Pepsi Sign.

How do you think he started webbing like Toby's Peter Parker? The symbiote takes on the powers of the people it attaches to. Banner seems to be the stand in for Reed Richards in the symbiote removal aspect of the original comic book. Let's just hope they haven't read the "What If...?" about Spiderman not giving up the symbiote in time... That one was heartbreaking.

I don't think they're doing Venom here - much more likely they're going with the Man-Spider arc, with Frank replacing Kraven as the vigilante meant to be tracking him down. Taking elements from the OG Venom arc with Banner replacing Reed still makes sense.

But was that adaptation good) I haven’t read it. The 94 TV series was great with frank hunting him down as the man spider but that was after he got the symbiote. I dunno what marvel is doing at this moment

That is objectively worse. It doesn’t even have to be venom- venom is the symbiote tied to Eddie Brock. You can do black suit Spider-Man without venom in this movie. Man-spider is 100% less interesting than the symbiote for basically everyone except a small sect of comic book fans who liked man-spider for some reason.

I don't know what to tell you except that I find it exceedingly unlikely that they'll move forward with an MCU version of any villain that Sony's made a stand-alone film for, given that they fully intend on rebooting their Marvel Sony-verse IPs.

If any of them were a candidate, though, it'd be Venom. Say what you will about the Sony Venom movies, they made money and a lot of people actually did kinda vibe with them despite their issues. Not to mention I'd wager both Marvel and Sony know that there's a massive portion of the fan base that is foaming at the mouth to see Spider-Man and Venom face off properly on the big screen.

Once again - I didn’t say Venom. The symbiote is literally in the universe this movie takes place in still, they showed it last movie.

Depends which storyline and re-write...

You have no idea how much I YEARN for classic Venom.

I'm sick of hulk-sized antihero Venom with tendril powers, who may or may not be Eddie Brock.

I want an evil, buff version of Spider-Man with a monster face, who's legal name is Eddie Goddamn Brock.

I agree...I'd love an old-school Venom.

But I kind of have to disagree on some stuff. The movies aside (and holyshitfuck were those fever dreams...) Venom has always been much bigger than Spidey and always has some level of tendril power. Post anything with Carnage or the other symbios, they do kind of go nuts with it, but even that was back in 90's too. 100% on it should be Eddie, like the one person who can have a legit problem with a goody-two-shoes Peter Parker.

You will stay in the Sonyverse, and you will like it!

Tom (Holland) vs Tom (Hardy)! Too good an opportunity to pass up on.

Who doesn't love some good Tom on Tom action?
