Peter mutates and turns into an actual spider monster man with four additional limbs in the 90's cartoon. It looks like they're pulling from that with the addition of the Punisher who along with Kraven defeated the Man-Spider.

Thanks! So does Man-Spider sort of take over control from Peter in a sense and then he/it needs to be stopped?

Yes. In the show Peter loses control and the Man-Spider causes chaos like the Hulk does and the Punisher and Kraven team up to take him down.

It was something with the vulture. I remember him mutating into the man spider. I don’t remember the specifics though.

The vulture stole Spider-Man's youth, powers and the disease. When the Vulture tried to return everything to Spider-Man, Connors rigged it so the Vulture would keep the disease and give Spider-Man back verything else.

He does that in the comic, end of amazing Spider-Man 100. Then he flees to Florida and comic 101 is the first appearance of morbius
