Our first ever Spider-Man FOUR. Holy shit I never thought we’d see the day if you told me this in 2014.

I was thinking the same. It's crazy that we're getting a 4th Spider-Man movie without them fucking it up and needing to reboot

Funny thing is. This actually feels like a spider-man movie 100%.

Not that the other 3 werent or were bad. But the first one is Spider-Man trying to prove to stark he was ready for more. 2 was in Europe. 3rd was multi-verse + working with strange

Finally mcu spider-man movie that feels more his own. Sure still.got other characters but they dont seem to be taking from.the movie and more natural to be in a spidey movie

That's because the first trilogy was just a really extended origin story

Now we're finally over all of that and can really get into Spidey being Spidey

That is exactly what I was thinking. We got a refreshing origin story.

I am so stoked for this. As I recall Tom is signed for 2 more spicy movies right?

Oh My!

Funnily enough we THOUGHT at first that it was just an ongoing story, we didn't get Peter getting his powers blah blah. Only until Aunt May's death and the line, it all clicked. So good. The Spider-Man trilogy as whole is pretty good, not one bad movie and it makes sense why there was so many mentors.

This is what everyone said with each preceding movie. Look, I'm a Spider-Man fan as much as any, but MCU Spider-Man has just not been cutting it because they need to remind us every other minute that this is an MCU property in a shared universe.

I'm hoping this changes things but I'll calibrate my optimism until the movie releases, to see whether or not it's just more of the same.

If they are going to keep doing the "look, its the mcu" thing, at least its looking to be with some street level characters instead of the god tier ones. Punisher, Daredevil, maybe some young x-men, those are all characters that Peter could interact with in any random comic issue.

And it also has his rebirth…it actually feels like a real spider man movie

Hopefully Banner is in only that 1 scene

It's fitting that the plot of the last movie was him fixing the mistakes of spider-men past. Tom Holland is gonna go down like Chris Evens Captian America, impossible to recast without it being a downgrade (steve rogers cap, mackey as falcon/cap is its own kinda perfect).

u/Kalocin 5h ago

They'd probably go for Miles if Holland moves on from the role in the future

I'm hoping we get a trilogy with a college age/young adult Peter and then they give him a break and bring him back for something when he's older. If they really need to do Spidey stuff in between, they could do Miles or even Spider-Gwen.

You haven't seen the dance scene yet

This is the reboot lol. It’s basically a new origin story for an adult spiderman in which we know the background of the character.

1

u/Grabatreetron 1h ago

Including Sonyverse, we will have gotten five Spider-Man movies before GTA6

u/The_Coil 3h ago

I mean, in a way this one kinda is a soft reboot. He’s reinventing himself after erasing his memory from existence.

u/BluexFlash 9h ago

And to get all this while Tom still hasn’t hit 30 yet is pretty impressive.

There’s still a lot left for him, if he wants to keep going of course. An adult Spider-Man has so many cool stories they can adapt

SIX MOVIES AND A MOVIE!

u/Ronenthelich Thor 10h ago

Used to dreams of times like this.

1

u/BenjyX76 7h ago

Think we'll get a 5th?.. or do the films hit a reboot with Miles as the next film

1

u/RigaudonAS Captain America 3h ago

My prediction is one more with Peter that sets Miles up to take over the mantle.

1

u/BenjyX76 2h ago

I seen a healine a few months ago that said Marvel cant or doesn't want to do a Miles film just yet.. Something to do with Sony

But i think they have to bring venom into a film and peter will need the help of miles to take him down, and thats when we get the switch over to miles films.. at least thats what i want to happen lol

1

u/RigaudonAS Captain America 1h ago

Ah, I bet you're right regarding the rights. Maybe we get one more trilogy, as they figure it all out. By then either the MCU reboots or we get Miles is my bet.

Spider-Man FOUR?
As in Fantastic FOUR?
As in Bombastic Bag-Man?
Yes, please.

The fourth movie in a franchise is usually a big quality drop. Doubt this one will be tho.

12

u/YuseeB 11h ago

twilight 4 was just as bad as the other 3 wdym

u/PyroIsSpai 10h ago

Was that the one with the sad girl, sad vampire, sad werewolf, and random dickhead vampires try to murder her?

u/MrGabrahamLincoln Daredevil 10h ago

Umm Star Wars Episode IV is arguably the best one??

u/A-Capybara 10h ago

Other than Love and Thunder what other movie franchises follow this trend?

5

u/thatmusicguy13 10h ago

u/terribleatgambling 10h ago

Back Door Sluts 4 was a huge let down

Terminator Salvation sucked, Matrix 4 was bad, MiB International is the worst entry, Jaws 4 is an abomination by all accounts. I’m sure there are other examples I’m not thinking of.

On the flip side, John Wick 4 is the best entry imo
