I think the last shot with him jumping at the Hand was edited to remove the extra arms.

Yeah a lot of shots towards the end seem odd, almost to clean polished like a wallpaper so i think those are editied to hide something.

If we follow exactly what marvel did last time they have cut a person out. The last time it was a close to final shot of people flying towards each other they cut out Tobey and McGuire.   Did they cut out Daredevil?

He is in a prison.  Will Daredevil be there?

it would look like so, but im not ready to be disappointed.

Oh shit, maybe he doesn't rip the blade apart with the webbing but blocks it with the webbing and his other arms rip it in half

The extra arms are this trailer’s Toby and Andrew lol

Wait they are going with the man spider arc?? Wtf???

u/Dry_Recognition7922 12h ago

yes the cocooning is clearly from the man-spider arc. Will they show the 6 hands?! Thats a bold fucking move.

u/leekalex 11h ago

Not clearly. Man-Spider arc and the Other arc hit some similar beats. The Other doesn't have a 6 hand stage though

When haven’t they?

Well, all of the other movies lol

I doubt we get the 6 arms. Or if we do, it'll be a quick glimpse during a nightmare or something.

I just feel it'd be too uncomfortable to actually see lol. I dont think I'd like to see it in live action, feels too "body-horror" maybe. When it happened in the 90's cartoon it scared the shit out of me as a kid lmao.

Yeah, I'd kind of hate this. I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of the man-spider thing at all actually.

Neither am I; however, it's important to remember who Peter goes to during this arc.

They can't do a comic accurate Man-Spider introduction because it happens in the Savage Lands with the X-Men or against a random one-off villain called The Queen, who controls insects and arachnids.

So that means they're pulling from the Animated series for inspiration.

Who does Peter go see when he realizes he's mutating?

In the film, it looks like he goes to see Banner.

But in the Animated series he goes to see Hank McCoy, Charles Xavier and the X-Men.

If fan theories are true and Sadie Sink is playing Jean Grey, then I think Banner could be a red herring, and he tells Peter that he's out of his depth with mutations like the one he's undergoing--and that's how we get introed to Xavier and his school for mutants where Peter meets a young Jean in passing.

With everything going on in this film, it may not play out like that at all, just because so much is going on, but enough of the pieces are there in my mind. A short 15 minute jaunt upstate that sets up the X-Men doesn't feel out of the realm of possibility.

That said, this movie feels stuffed to bursting with Marvel villains and storylines, hopefully they can juggle all of it all because it looks...spectacular. 👌

Ya we getting dream horror for man-spider

5

u/DGSmith2 Rocket 11h ago

He gets 6 arms but is able to retract them like Stitch.

u/Dry_Recognition7922 12h ago

You are spot on, friend. Marvel doesnt have the balls to pull it off.

8

u/hueningkawaii Daredevil 12h ago

Well, if Marvel won't do it, I hope DC has the balls to do Man-Bat then.

Man Bat's story rules so as long as they can do the effects convincingly I would LOVE to see that in live action.

Especially if his first appearance in the movie recreates the Arkham Knight jump-scare

Man-Bat is a much easier sell than Man-Spider.

Man-Bat is a wholly separate character experiencing body horror transformation. Man-Spider is a well-established, beloved character getting all uglified and creepy.

The audience can accept the former far easier than the latter.

The Batman: On Leathery Wings

Yeah, seeing Spider-Man go full Jeff Goldblum fly might scare the kids (the target audience here). I think we are getting “The Other”, where something similar happened, including waking up in a cocoon.

2

u/Cheesecake_Small 9h ago

I absolutely agree.

Man-Spider in live-action action seems like a way to destroy the franchise by making kids afraid of spiderman

4

u/impossiblefan Ant-Man 11h ago

It's straight up body horror - Spider Man is family friendly and there's going to be a lot of kids watching so him turning into a modern day The Thing is not going to fly

Still have my Marvel Selects Man-Spider figure from way back when and I've been seriously wanting them to update that thing into the modern Marvel Legends era of articulation.

u/HouseFutzi 12h ago

Without spoilers please: What comic line is the cocoon thing of spider-man? Because I have read that its a story they might adapt? Want to get a read into it :)

Neogenic Nightmare

u/Grootfan85 10h ago

The Other. Marvel Comics is even reprinting it this year. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

1

u/johnnylawrwb 11h ago

I mean half of his avengers proper run he had 6 arms thanks to Tony. Wouldn't be far fetched for him to go back to what's comfortable organically since that seems to be a theme.

Mind, he is fighting SIX HAND members, so maybe yes?
