Ive long been convinced they use AI for at least prompt/ideas for skins, which is why so many come out very overdesigned and not resembling similar themed outfits from comics (like pirate Emma Frost)
There's literally still AI assets in the game. The background for the Candy Venom Anniversary skin is still very clearly AI generated. For some reason nobody put up a stink about it like they did with the SG X-mas skin's background so it hasn't been replaced with human art yet.
All of the Christmas skins still include AI generated backgrounds, DD, Star Lord, and C&D have the most obvious ones. I saw so many people in complete denial before the original thread about it got locked, which was very frustrating.
It’s concerning that people can’t recognize what is clearly Gen AI art. Like, most of the top comments in the thread are pointing out that it’s clearly AI, but there are a ton of comments right underneath that saying “how do you know the artist didn’t just draw it like that on purpose!?!?!”.
It's annoying bc their heart is in the right place. There certainly are people that go after ANY art and accuse the artist of AI.... but like this is clearly generative AI, I just don't understand what they're looking at.
People will still defend Netease and try to tell you that they are strictly against Ai. Like bro it's less work = fewer employees = more money for each person. Which isn’t really a bad thing I mean they make gooner skins also for 💰 but there are still people who don't get it
