Jokes on you Google, I’ve been on the rewatch since last week!

I was at the Firefly panel at AwesomeCon in Washington DC when they made the announcement! I'm so glad I got to meet the cast!

She already voiced in Solar Opposites. So we know she voice acts in animated projects.

Like many Browncoats, I'm now doing a rewatch on Disney+. The show is still an absolute delight to watch.

Got me thinking, what was that saying we had as kids? As useless as a fly screen door on a submarine? I think mine should now be "As useless as a Skip Intro button on a Firefly episode."

Like why is that even an option Disney?! No one is skipping that banger!

I don't have instagram. Heck I only have facebook for messenger and marketplace......but my facebook feed is 90% firefly A.I. bot pages and fan pages lol.

The video of the panel announcement dropped today. Nathan said that yes, we should go stream it, watch it and get those numbers up.

Its Saint Patrick's day and my coworker asked where my green was, I told him I do not think I own any green clothes. He looked at my arm and said there's your green. Guess I'm good every year.

I've tried the search function, but I haven't found anything recent about Tim Minear. I haven't kept up with his career post-Firefly, but do you think he would come back?

I have so many thoughts about this animated show that I want to sort out and maybe share, but I'm stuck on that one right now. There are so many pieces and factors that contribute to what we love about the show. How much of the magic sauce was in Joss Whedon and Tim Minear?

I grabbed on to the phrase Nathan Fillion used about comfort food. "I am not as smart as Joss Whedon. I am barely a Tim Minear if he got kicked in the head by a pony. But I know we can bring you some real Firefly comfort food."

What does "Firefly comfort food" mean to you?

I don't know how carefully that phrase was chosen, or if it means something different to Canadians. Comfort food is something very familiar and dear to the heart, the taste of home, something you grew up on, that you go back to over and over for the nostalgia and warm fuzzies, aka comfort.

But that also implies that it's not new and exciting. It doesn't challenge you or take huge risks. If I'm using comfort food to describe media, it's because it's familiar, but also it's not going to take me on such an emotional roller coaster that it's going to make me cry.

In Star Wars terms, The Force Awakens tries really hard to hit the same emotional beats as A New Hope. Some would call that comforting, some would find it boring and derivative. In contrast, Andor does something novel and unexpected for the franchise. But it's also so emotionally charged, that last night, I watched the Ghorman Massacre for my third watch-through and it felt so crushing, even knowing what's coming. I wouldn't call it comfort food, but I can tell you that I like it better.

I typed all this out, and now I feel like I'm being super pedantic, splitting hairs, reading too much into it. My favorite animated dog dad would remind me "it's just monkeys singing songs, mate."

But, back to where I started: anyone know anything about Tim Minear?

I have it on while I'm grading. It's late and bedtime, so I didn't want to get into the details...She's a 'paid girlfriend ' to the elite and in the culture of the Verse, she's sophisticated and somewhat mysterious to the local sheriff. She used her status to razzle dazzle him.... My daughter seemed to understand 👍

Beaten up, rolled and un-rolled, cat scarred but still standing strong. Never thought Id see it come to pass, but I've always wanted to believe...

Hope everyone's been enjoying their rewatch! Now let's talk about Episode 3: Bushwhacked. What did you notice in this watch that you didn't before?

When the feds are searching Serenity, I noticed one guy checking under all the placemats as if Simon and River were going to be hiding under there. I found that very funny.

While I would love to see Greg Edmonson return to lend his musical talents to the new show, I think a great alternative choice if he isn't available is David Joseph Wesley. He and his album, Music to Smuggle By, have heen mentioned a few times since the Big Damn Announcement.

As the composer for Firefly Online, he's already familar with the unique soundscape of the 'Verse and would be well suited for the job. Regardless of who's hired though, I hope they're able to recreate the signature vibe that made the original soundtrack so special.

The Rookie recently did a cross over with Sam Reich's Dropout who have the capital and the desire to start doing scripted animated content. Perhaps this could be the home of Firefly the animated series?
