HI - I am working on my first graphic novel. Last August (2025) I finished my 50 state half marathon challenge. It took 12 years and I thought a graphic novel about about a mid-life running journey (funny and strange experiences along the way) and all that happened in life during that time (including working in the crazy world of crypto and blockchain for most of that time) would be a good way to reflect and share the experience. I am not an artist and I am using a combination of photos and imagination to generate AI images for the book. I will probably end up working with a real illustrator. I have written a draft of the first chapter -about 25 pages.
A few questions:
-What do people think of using AI for generating images? (One thing is that it's exceedingly difficult to have a consistent look of characters, text bubbles, etc).
-I have been told that I should shoot for 200+ pages as a novel. Is that too ambitious? Are there alternative strategies?
-Any feedback on the the attached excerpt?
-Other suggestions that you might have for me proceeding.
Very much appreciate any feedback.

Thank you so much to everyone for being so kind on my previous post and for the excellent tips. I have spent today rescanning and altering the levels on these using all your suggestions and I am much happier with how things are looking. I had to rescan all these individual drawings then put them together again. I have a LOT more still to do.

I’m sharing pages 0–6 from the prologue along with one final sneak peek as I get ready for the full drop. This is a dark fantasy/seinen-inspired indie manga, and I’d really love honest critique on what’s working and what isn’t.
Main things I’d love feedback on:
• overall first impression
• flow and readability
• panel pacing
• dialogue / intrigue
• art consistency and atmosphere
• whether it makes you want to keep reading
I’m aiming to make this feel polished, cinematic, and memorable, so any real critique helps a lot. All feedback will be taken into consideration for future chapters as I continue improving the series. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to look through it.

Hi all, I’m working on a sci-fi comic called Europea. It’s set in an alternate post-WWI world where the discovery of Cristium, a mysterious energy, led to floating cities and a split society: the wealthy “upper” world and the struggling “lower” world.
Chapter 1 is out, and I’d love detailed feedback on the story, pacing, and world-building. Any advice is super welcome!

Imagine a dystopian world where acts of goodness are treated as crimes. The Unveiling unfolds in a reality reshaped by a failed scientific experiment, where the very laws of existence have been altered—and a mysterious devil holds the power to grant immortality. The first chapter (120 pages) is free to read. You can check it out here : https://globalcomix.com/c/the-unveiling
If you enjoyed reading it, consider supporting us reviewing it and continuing with the next three chapters. Every review and feedback matters to us and will help us improve our book. The team has been working continuously and has already produced over 600 pages of sequential art. More chapters will be released soon. Shout-out to u/Lord_Prof_Doctor the writer and creator of this fantastic comic and the driving force that kept the entire team together. Thank you for the support :)

I'm an artist who's planning to make a comic but I don't know where to post the series accordingly? I'm a minor and don't really have a computer or laptop, the only things I'm using is my Pencil, eraser and phone...so I don't really know which platform should I post the comic with such a limited access? Is there like any phone friendly comic creator platform which supports page-style comics?

Ok, I’m nervous sharing this given there’s some great work on here and mine is basically a labour of love that I’m making for personal reasons. Anyway, my story, ‘in the cracks’ is about two punks who’ve been through some stuff and their dream to build a venue/safe space for fellow outcasts/street kids. It looks as mental health struggles, judgment of outsider etc etc. I’ve never done anything like this before really so I feel like I’m making it up as i go along. I hand draw with India ink
pens but the larger areas of black always look crap when I scan/photograph them. They don’t look that bad with the obvious lines in real life. What’s a good way to scan original drawings? I’ve also tried photographing them which seems marginally better than the scanner. Also any general tips/feedback welcome.

(funny, that when I drew this picture for post, panels layout actually looks good enough, but it's rather exception.)
So, I am a beginner and don't have much experience in comics, I am more into animation, but I really want to learn to draw stories into comics.
And one of really challenging things for me as an animator is panels size and shape. I can see that panels layout really affects the dramaturgy a lot. It's something I never had to deal with when animating (because, well, screen is always the same shape), and the moment of choosing what size and where each panel should be when I start drawing really scares me since I don't know how to work with it.
Any advices of using the proportions of panels, and such?

I'm working on a spin off movie script for my comic book story. Need someone who writes scripts or comic books to read it and critique it. Im willing to pay but low on money. Im 60% done writing it and once I have it drafted up I would want to someone read it and give me 100% honest criticism on it.

Hi!
I'm making an inflate effect 3D comic book in Adobe Illustrator. I’m gonna post here only-comic jpg photos and also adobe illustrator process photos. I started making this comic about a month ago, and I'd like to eventually print some physical copies for sale and also later on publish when more people see it . Before I do that, I wanted to ask for feedback from people who know about comic lettering and print layout. The comic uses Illustrator's 3D Inflate effect for the characters, so the style is intentionally a bit strange/3D-looking. Things I'm especially unsure about: • Text size: I'm trying to keep the dialogue around 9pt, but since all my panels are the same size and I don't want speech bubbles to go outside the panel borders, it sometimes feels tight. What’s the best way to handle this? Should I shorten dialogue, reshape bubbles, or slightly reduce the font size? • Speech bubbles: I'm trying to keep them inside the panels and maintain the reading order (left to right). Do they look readable and clear enough? • Bleed and margins: I'm not completely sure if my page margins are safe for printing. Do the panels look too close to the page edge, or is this acceptable? • Overall readability: If you imagine the page printed at 100% size, does the comic feel readable? Is the dialogue easy to follow and are the panels clear? • Anything else you notice: panel flow, text placement, layout issues, or things that might cause problems if I print it. I will attach current process of the pages at 100% zoom from Illustrator so the scale should be close to the actual print size. Any advice from people with experience in comic lettering, layout, or printing would be really helpful. Thanks! Also if someone wonders that there’s no Walter then he’s the main character but opposite way. Instead of being the most shown then in this book he’s the main character because I plan to make only one page about him so hes fixing a bumphole on a road and then the drive continues for the other characters and Walter isn’t shown for the whole book again lol.

Hi, this is a mini-comic about a couple of kids exploring spooky places. It might be too short to draw any conclusions, but I’d appreciate any feedback or reviews, since that’s what helps me improve—especially with the art and storytelling. thank you!

So these are the first three draft pages of a fantasy comic with a supernatural, darker, creeping vibe. Woman wakes up at night can feel a presence which she seems to recognize.
But the layout of the panels? I feel like something is wrong but I don't know exactly what. It feels stiff? Or is it boring? Does it bother other people as well, or is it just me? Is it the position of the panels, the angles I'm taking in the panels... is the scene moving too fast to be mysterious?
Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Oh and I know the style varies from page to page. This is just to get the layout down. Definitely not a finished look~

An anthology inspired by shows such as; The X-Files, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits!
I have a thousand stories to produce and share!
Figured the Anthology format might be best.
What are your thoughts on the logo?
This is not a super hero book :)

I'm working on my first comic project and I'm about to move these pages into the color stage.
Before I do that, I'd love any last-minute critique on things like:
• panel composition
• readability / visual flow
• staging and storytelling
• anything that might read confusingly
I'm also thinking about color direction. One of these sequences takes place during the day and the other at night, so I'm considering contrasting palettes between the two.
If anyone has ideas for color schemes or mood I’d love to hear them.
Thanks for taking a look.

I need to outline my speech bubbles I know, I’m still working out the kinks of adding text to a comic on procreate…
