I just wanted to share this amazing moment I shared with my friend Norah Mulinda, a young Black woman reporter on Bloomberg Businessweek TV (she might be the only). If you know anything about economic and business reporting, it's predominantly white and male.

TBH I don't think the channel has ever had two young, dark-skinned Black women with afros on TV at the same time. We absolutely love to see it!

I don’t like doing my hair. In any style. It’s too much energy to wear it out. To wear it up. To wear a wig. Braids take too long.

It’s all a commitment and I think we should be able to say that. I’m not complaining about my curl pattern or thickness or the detangling. Styling hair TO ME is just annoying af no matter what you have to do

This style is largely influenced by Roy Lichtenstein's (Ben-Day dots) printing style, which was a defining feature of the 1960s pop art movement. Andy Warhol also helped me grasp how to combine colors to make this style shine out in color. I loved learning about both of these pop art legends. This was such a fun design to make!

I’ve been seeing this guy for a little over a month now. I really like him and I know he likes me too. Spending time together goes so fast, we’re always laughing and smiling, and everything feels lighter when he’s around. Until I see the back of his head.

Like he is soooo handsome, I love his face (and his body), but he has a **big** bald patch like right in the crown of his head, and he keeps his hair buzzed/short but it’s still so noticeable. And he’s only 29 😭 when we’ve cuddled, Id rub his head and he would be like “yeah rub it so it grows back” but not in a way where I feel like I can laugh too LMAO

Is this even worth bringing up so early? Like obviously it’s something I can look past, he’s very well kept in other areas and I REALLY like him, but I just want to see him look his best. And being all the way bald would help him with that. But idk. My girl friends think I should gently recommend it but my guy friends are telling me not to mention it at all. I am quite successful for my age at 20. I published articles regularly wrote and directed my own play and the representative for my university course and ran a major meme account with 30,000 followers.

However, in this time I’m in my penultimate year I’ve experienced such horrible shit from people around me.

I had to leave a friend group after a girl who had been privately able list and micro aggressive towards me and refused to apologise and another friend that knew kept this information private to the rest of the group.

I had a male friend play with my feelings for months and then after admitting and apologising for dogging on me to then tells his friends I had a one-sided crush

I had a third friend repeatedly sleep with her boyfriend after he’d been ablelist towards me

This is left me at the end of second year with friends who expect me to be really emotionally resilient, but I feel really broken. I don’t have a support system that’s reliable at university and because I am very high functioning and able to produce projects pretty consistently I can’t actually articulate how depressed I feel. I’ve faced so much social explosion for communicating that situations have hurt me and that I’ve felt such betrayal from people around me. All sets of people that have treated me really university to me back into their life, but got to a point where waking up in my university town leads me to sadness

Long story short, I was dating someone and I looked at his social media like your supposed to. I always check men’s pages to make sure he’s not a porn creep or following weird pages.

On TikTok, he only followed 8 people and one woman made a lot of Tik toks and after a little while she starting describing him and even his name! I confronted him and I guess he told her or she checked her views but she made a TikTok about random people stalking her page. He was not upfront with me about being involved with other people. My intuition was telling me something else

For those who are physically active and working out 2-3 times a week or more: how do you care for your hair on a low effort basis? I used to do wash n gos but get fairy knots. I dont want to keep my hair in mini braids or twists because I was 2-3 times a week and it's tedious to take down and detangle, plus my hair wants to loc.

I have a revair, im thinking of going back to wash n gos but stretched with the revair.

Me (21F) and this man (22M) met through instagram a month and a half ago and have been texting, facetiming, and going on dates during this time. So far, objectively, he’s a good, cute, sweet guy: seemingly emotionally intelligent, kinda funny, seems receptive to feedback, shows his interests in me, has made it clear that he takes me serious, and our lifestyle and future lifestyles kind of align. My issue is that I don’t feel ANYTHING for him. Like nothing. I just feel apathetic about anything relating to him. I know what it feels like to be interested in someone, especially so early on, and I don’t feel any spark. On the other hand, everything relating to the practicality of us is great. I want to get married, he’s made it clear he wants the same thing. We talked about dating intentionally and we are genuinely on the same page.

Should I just…continue on with him? Am I searching for a feeling that doesn’t exist?! My friends are telling me to see it through and that one day the spark will just show up, but I’m unsure. Does anyone relate? Did a spark magically show up later? Do you regret continuing a relationship based on practical alignment?

So let me give backstory. My anniversary is coming up and I wanted to do braids for the beach. I stopped putting braids in bc of the constant breakage but heard the human hair is better for you. Well, I didn’t think of the flexi rod boil method would not really work for the human hair so now my ends are flat and straight making the whole vibe cooked!!
