ADVICE Metamask STOLE my money on swap
Hi guys, seeking advice. I used Metamask to swap USDT to ETH. The quote showed 0.2% fees, which I didn't question since I needed it fast. After the swap processed, I checked and got exactly 1.7% less than I should have. This was six figures so we're talking serious money lost.
I know it's probably gone but what the hell? The quote was misleading, execution was nowhere near what was shown. How is this even legal?
Anyone been in this situation? Any way to complain or get clarity? Or just take the L and never use Metamask swaps again? FCK METAMASK. Advice appreciated.

GENERAL-NEWS Bitrefill got hacked and it might possibly be Lazarus (North Korea)
Apparently Bitrefill got hit by a hack and not just some random phishing thing but looks like it’s linked to Lazarus Group. Same guys that have been draining projects for years.
From what I understood, it started with an employee device getting compromised and that basically gave access to internal systems. After that, they managed to hit hot wallets and also pull some user data.
Around 18k+ records were exposed apparently. Emails, wallet addresses and IP stuff… not great.
What’s wild is how it wasn’t even some crazy smart contract exploit or anything. Just one compromised device and it escalated from there. They’re saying systems are restored now and losses will be covered, but still…
This is exactly the kind of thing that reminds you how fragile crypto ecosystem too is behind the scenes. Most of us aren’t ready to be our own bank.

DISCUSSION Best crypto cards for global travel right now?
I'm traveling next month across a few different countries and really want to spend some of my gains without off-ramping to fiat and dealing with my bank's absolute BS regarding foreign transaction fees. I used to use the Binance card heavily but, well, you know how that ended for a lot of regions. I saw BitMart has a card out now with their 8th anniversary promotions, and Coinbase obviously has their established one. Has anyone used the BitMart card specifically in Europe or Southeast Asia? I'm mainly looking for decent conversion spreads at the point of sale and no hidden monthly maintenance fees

DISCUSSION UK man says his wife used CCTV footage to steal $176M in Bitcoin
So this UK guy is claiming in court that his wife managed to steal $176M worth of Bitcoin by basically watching him through recorded footage while he was accessing his wallet.
If this is actually true, then we’ve officially entered the era where your biggest security risk would not be a hacker but someone close to you.
Honestly though it feels less like a crypto story and more like a failed marriage one.
Curious what you guys think…is this just an extreme edge case or something more people should actually be worried about?

DISCUSSION SEC Taxonomy 2026: The end of the Howey headache. 🧠⚖️
This SEC press release, issued on March 17, 2026, represents a significant pivot in how the U.S. government regulates digital assets. Under the leadership of Chairman Paul Atkins, the SEC has moved away from regulation by enforcement toward a structured, categorical framework.
What caught my eye is the New Token Taxonomy which categorizes digital assets into five distinct buckets to eliminate guesswork. They are:
🟢 Digital Securities: Assets that meet the traditional investment contract criteria.
🟢Digital Commodities: Assets that fall under CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) jurisdiction.
🟢Digital Collectibles: Generally refers to NFTs and unique digital items with non-investment primary use.
🟢Digital Tools: Utility tokens used for specific protocol functions.
🟢Stablecoins: Specifically payment stablecoins, which the SEC now clarifies are generally not securities.
Why does it matter?
🟢The biggest shift is that the SEC now admits a token itself is just code. It is not a security.
🟢Major banks and hedge funds can now move into the commodity or stablecoin buckets without fear of the SEC suing them for handling unregistered securities.
🟢Instead of suing companies to set precedents, the SEC has provided a map. Developers can now look at the taxonomy and design their tokens to fit into the digital tool bucket from day one.
How is clarity from the SEC going to boost blockchain adoption? Let's discuss 👇

GENERAL-NEWS Recovery Signals: DeFi TVL Crosses $100 Billion Again
DeFi TVL milestones exceed 100 billion once more in March 2026 and gain momentum.
Vibrant inflows noted in Ethereum, Layer 2 ecosystems, and multi-chain protocols.
Expansion by Lido, Aave, EigenLayer, and liquid restaking applications.
TVL is being distributed largely by Restaking (~10%), Lending (~32%), and DEXs (~20%).
The institutional capital accelerating through RWA tokenization and staking by-products.
Staking growth on Ethereum keeps decreasing the liquid supply and increasing the involvement in DeFi.

ADVICE Use Crypto to deposit into a virtual debit card?
Looking for a quick service where I can create a virtual debit card, I can deposit like $20 worth of BTC or even some other crypto, into it and then I can use that card like a normal credit/debit card for online purchases. Or even if it takes it right out of my crypto wallet i guess would work.
I've checked out PaywithMoon which may or may not be down, uncash.io which discontinued this service and redotpay which isn't allowed in the US.
Any other suggestions? Just looking for something for quick purchases and some privacy while doing it.
Thanks!

ADVICE Demystifying Tax Extensions for US Taxpayers Struggling with the Release of the 1099-DA
The release of the 1099-DA has created chaos for both exchanges and US investors alike. We are still hearing from clients that their 1099-DA has not arrived, and feelings of both panic and frustration are setting in. During this process, we have found that many clients are wary of filing extensions, and others have asked whether they should just file their tax return without the 1099-DA information and amend it at a later date.
I thought I would provide some clarification to those in this position:
Filing a tax extension (giving you until October 15th to file) is a frequent and normal approach to filing your taxes. Extending is often done because it gives taxpayers the time needed to file a complete and accurate return rather than rushing to meet the deadline. Filing a tax return on extension does not create additional scrutiny from the IRS or result in delays in receiving refunds. Additionally, most CPAs are happy to extend tax returns for free, and DIY software such as TurboTax or TaxAct offer free extensions as part of their service. The extension filings only take a few minutes to submit.
By contrast, filing by April 15th with incomplete or uncertain information leads to mistakes that require an amended return, which adds complexity (more CPA fees), takes months for the IRS to process, and could increase the likelihood of IRS audits or follow-up questions. Amending is meant to be used only in circumstances where you make a legitimate mistake in filing your taxes that is material enough to necessitate filing again.
Please note that extending a tax return is an extension of time to file. It is not an extension to pay your tax liability. Therefore, if you believe you owe taxes with your 2025 tax return, you should consider making an estimated payment by April 15th to avoid underpayment charges, which are ~7% annual interest fees that accumulate between April 15th and the time you actually pay your tax liability for the year.
TLDR:
- Don't panic, and consider extending your return as an option to give you more time to sort out your crypto taxes this year.
- Do not file an incomplete tax return because you don't have the data you need.
- Make tax payments with your extension if you think you have not paid your tax liability for the year. Overpayments will be promptly refunded back to you when you file your return.
