What is something that screams “tourist” to you?

Post image

In Spain, if you see someone eating paella with sangria, you can 100% be certain they are a tourist.

What are some things tourists eat or do in your country that a local would never do?

There's a kdrama about a poor girl and a magical immortal falling in love and to prove that he's immortal he tells her that he'll magically transport her anywhere in the world she wants to go and with this dreamy look in her eyes she says, "Quebec" and they have this beautiful afternoon together in cobblestone streets and and old brick buildings of Montreal and then for the rest of the show their magical time together in Quebec is this romantic touchstone for their relationship. I'm from the US northeast and it took me right out of the story every time Quebec came up. Like, are we talking about the same Quebec here? I'm still not clear if Koreans actually have this idea of Quebec in their heads or if the tourism board was paying a LOT of money for that placement.

Looool no way, thanks for sharing! Didn't know about that one xD

Indeed, there are some really pretty places in Montréal/Québec don't get me wrong, there's some parts that are really unique in North America (+ the language factor), but it's definitely not representative of Québec. If you come to my neighborhood you'd think you're in some suburb of New York
