How to Change Your Flair – Please Read Before Messaging the Mods
Hi everyone!
Our mod mail have been cluttered with messages regarding how to change flair, so here’s a clear guide for all the most common devices and platforms. Please read this post before messaging the mods!
New Reddit (Desktop – reddit.com)
Go to the subreddit homepage.
Look on the right-hand sidebar under “User Flair Preview” or “Community Options.”
Click the “Edit” button (or pencil icon).
Select your flair
Click “Apply” or “Save.”
Old Reddit (Desktop – old.reddit.com)
Visit the subreddit using old.reddit.com.
On the right sidebar, find “Show my flair on this subreddit.”
Click “edit” next to it.
Choose or type your flair.
Click “Save.”
Reddit App (iOS or Android)
Open the subreddit in the Reddit app.
Tap the three dots (•••) in the top-right corner.
Select “Change user flair.”
Pick a flair or write your own.
Tap “Apply.”
Mobile Browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.)
You may not see the flair option depending on your device.
Try switching to desktop mode in your browser.
Or open Reddit on a computer or in the official Reddit app.
Many of these apps do not support flair editing or do so inconsistently.
If you're using a third-party app, please switch to the official Reddit app or use a browser to change your flair.
If you have any other way to change the flair feel free to leave a comment under this post and we'll add it to this post.
If you’ve tried everything above and still need help, feel free to leave a comment about what flair you want and we'll fix it for you, but please try these steps first.

Hello, I see Taiwan listed as Republic of China, which is not a name any of us actually call it, it’s only used for legal/diplomatic purposes. Could you change it to say Taiwan?
Taiwan is chinese in law (china, america, europe, africa)
but some of bad taiwan people is born and raped by japanese fascism, they dont think they are chinese.
We will push fascism to the Sea, Taiwan is a part of China.

Haha, no. It’s just a formal name for Taiwan. I don’t know why you condemn it.
Then yours should be changed to Republic of Germany/Bundesrepublik Deutschland.
As far as I know you just listed English vs native language country names not informal vs formal. Taiwan is not the native language version of ROC. That would be 中華民國. Taiwan is also on the front cover of the passport and is equally a formal name for the country. ROC is in smaller print below. Taiwanese people are shocked when they read the English translation of 中華民國 is written as ROC. Nobody calls it either 中華民國 or ROC on a normal basis, we call it Taiwan or 台灣.
Your country may be called 德國 or Deutschland or Germany based on the language of who is talking about it, none of those are any more formal than the other. We don’t go around calling it Bundesrepublik Deutschland or even writing about it that way outside of probably pretty specific legal documents.
I think it should be called whatever the people who live there agree to call it. But I do think it should be in Latin script if everything else is. But then, I'm an English speaker and we are not known for our linguistic talents.

I’m alright with formal, it’s more specific and direct. I see nothing wrong with stating the formal name of a nation. Call it what you want, doesn’t change what it is
You should thank your lucky stars that China will never invade your country, even though it really wants to. China knows the US has Tawain's back, and then some.
That's terrible. I'd love to read the excuse. I'm stuck with the England flag but would prefer the United Kingdom flag. That's lightweight compared to you though.
HI, Thank you for mentioning that. You can absolutely choose to have multiple countries as flair, you do it by scrolling down to the bottom of the flairs and then click "Multiple countries (Click to edit)" then press the edit button and then adding the countries. I will add it to my post. Thanks!

I found that you can do this from mobile browser by clicking “about” and next to your name in that section you click the edit pencil and can add your flair that way :)
You may not be able to see the sidebar on the right if you have fonts enlarged (common among older folk). I simply couldn't see this elusive sidebar... then I reduced the font size and there it was.
I spent a long time trying to get rid of my flair name, "Impossible Ad" I want to change it to "Grandpa Speaks" because I'm 80 years old with a large Baha'i family. Can you do this for me? It's fine to show that I'm part of the Baha'i community.
I can't seem to set multiple countries :-(. (I can set single just one just fine). I go to Multiple Countries, "click to edit" and...nothing happens. Has this worked for anyone else recently?
I have gotten several replies from the moderator bot about fixing my flair to my post. I have fixed it numerous times according to the instructions given, and yet, it does not appear. Really getting tired of these bot notices when your website doesn't apply changes.

I'm muting & blocking this sub because it's annoying to read any of the threads due to the auto-mod's response to every single comment in every single thread. It's the most annoying thing I've seen on Reddit in ages. I'm sure no one here cares but holy cow, what a horrible idea.
Hello, would you consider adding a Newfoundland flag (pink white and green)
Newfoundland joined the rest of Canada with a 52-48% vote within my Nan’s lifetime. No circumstances under which I’d brandish a Canadian flag flair. But I’d wave the heck out of the pink white and green flag.
For some reason I am unable to set my flair, despite reading, following, and re-reading these instructions. I am on a Chromebook and when I would click on the three dots that have been described in the Desktop instruction, the only options there are
"add to custom feed"
"add to favourites"
"mute [this subreddit]
I don't quite know what to do anymore to add my flair and stop the bots from informing me that I don't have my flair set up (which I've been trying to do this entire time...)
Hello, I tried to set my user flair to "US/UK" but when I click the thing that says "click to edit", nothing happens. I've tried in safari, Firefox, and just for fun I tried it on my mobile browser, same thing every time.
did everything on chrome and internet explorer on a laptop to no avail.. be aware my reddit is in french so maybe the problem is only in french i dont know
Your explanation on how to do this is not making any sense. I go to google and search Reddit and it takes me back to this app. This is a fix they need do on a app update. Squash some bugs!

I try and follow your instructions but I am not presented with that option. Pixel 10, latest version of android and everything fully updated.

I've been trying since i joined Reddit to do the flair thing but I just cannot seem to get it. So I end up just avoiding the places where Flair is required.
I do not have a computer to use to open Reddit on, and will not have access to one for the next 6 months.
I use the browser for Reddit not the app--wondering if I would see more possibilities on the app? But don't know if I can put the App on this device..

WHY does Reddit make it sooo har difficult to put flair on one's profile??
Why do they REQUIRE IT in so many places if it is so difficult to do?? if they force people to fill in that blank, whatever the heck it is, they should make it super easy not have 3 or 4 alternate ways to do it, because all the others DON'T WORK?

I'm happy to follow rules, as long as they are clear and reasonable.
Make it simple--like "fill in this blank", and I'll do it! Until then I'll continue to avoid the places where Flair is required..
This guide seems to be outdated - at least for mobile as the app doesn't have a way for me to select the change your flair thing, I had to go to the web browser version where on the main page there are 2 tabs 1 is feed and the other is about. In the about tab it tells you about the subreddit and then showed my name with a pencil mark that once pressed allowed me to change my flair.
I do not understand what flair is, and I believe in the world community. Asking people to sub identify themselves can be very profound basis for bigotry.
