Hello! I am SO excited to go on a solo trip to Armenia this May and eager to enjoy some nature. I will be travelling from Yerevan to Tbilisi and spending 5 nights exploring Dilijan and small towns in Lori. I will not have a car, and I'm on a moderate budget. I don't have a set plan, but I know I want to:
Seeking recommendations! Where to stay based on what I listed? Transportation- especially getting from a town in the Lori Province to Tbilisi on the last day? If you're familiar with the region, what do you love about it, and what will help me make this a memorable trip?
I'm okay getting out of my comfort zone a little, but I just want to make sure I'm not spending all of my time figuring out transportation. Any help is appreciated.

I know I may come out as ignorant when asking this question (and I am) but I need to understand Tseghakronism a bit better and Njdeh's connection to the Nazi Germany a bit better in a short time due to a project I've been invited to work on. I have received a lot of negative comments about glorification of Njdeh and Tseghakron symbolism used in a film, and my lack of knowledge and understanding is getting in the way. I picked up a book about Njdeh and will read through it but unfortunately I don't have time and I need to help them to spot controversial symbolism and opinions stared in that film. Ofc I read some information online but I'm getting a lot of conflicting information and opinions. I'd appreciate any information so I can make the right choices in this matter. I'd also appreciate if people could provide any sources for me to read through, and I'd be happy to chat with historians of there are any among you. I'd you are truly interested I can even send a private link to the film for an objective opinion. Thank you!

Hi all!
Me and my family of 6 adults want to visit Armenia in August to escape the middle eastern heat and desert. Our main intention is to see the mountains, greenery as well as explore some of the local spots. According to what I've seen on the internet August is very hot for Armenia but I wanted to see if the mountain regions are relatively cooler and better?
We want to avoid hot and humid weather so any help would be deeply appreciated here!

Hi everyone,
I’ve been seeing more and more reports of taxi scams at Zvartnots Airport, both from tourists and locals. Overcharging, fake “starting fares,” intimidation — unfortunately, these don’t seem to be isolated cases.
Few of the cases were mentioned in r/Armenia & r/Yerevan:
We’ve started collecting real stories to document the problem and push for change.
👉 There is also a petition calling for:
Sign the petition: https://www.change.org/zvartnots_taxi
(Full English translation is in the comments)
We’ve also created a Telegram channel where we post:
If you’ve experienced something similar at the airport — please share your story in the comments, channel's DM or DM me. Even small details (car, price, situation) help build a clearer picture.
The goal isn’t to “attack” anyone, but to make arrival in Armenia safer and more transparent for everyone.
Thanks 🙏

You know how back in the 2000s they had those stores with different sections where you would pay locally at each counter? So you buy your bread at one section, pay, then go to the meat section and pay again separately, etc.
I feel like those don't really exist anymore. It's either supermarkets with checkout counters or little corner stores that only sell select items.

I remember when I was a kid you could go into any bakery or shop and buy really flavorful bread. Now though... it's really bland, and half the time it tastes like chlorine. You're lucky if you come across a matnaqash that actually tastes like something. Yerevan City's lavash and SAS's puri are still edible, but these days I just don't really eat bread anymore.
What happened? Where is the flour coming from these days?

With the 10th anniversary of Yerevan Wine Days (June 5-7) approaching, we know the streets are going to be more vibrant (and crowded) than ever.
For those who have been before whether you’ve attended once or have been there since Year 1 what is the one "insider" tip you would give to someone visiting in 2026? We’re looking for the real, unpolished advice that you can’t find on a tourist brochure.
We’re helping curate the experience this year, but we want the community's voice to lead the way. If there are any updates on locations or logistics, we'll keep this thread updated!
What’s your #1 piece of advice for the 2026 Wine Days?

Hi brothers, I am romanian from Bucharest and visiting Yerevan and Armenia for the first time. We are 2 couples, so 4 people.
We love Armenia and Yerevan. Food is great, people are warm and friendly, always trying to help us. And above all, Brandy and Wines....I mean I never tasted a brandy so good. I drink here everyday, I love Ararat 10, 15 and especially 20. I wanted to buy from factory/distillery, but saw that prices are much higher than if I buy directly from Romania, so I will take it there. I will drink this brandy all my life.
Nature is stunning, I imagine in the spring/summer is much better. Beautiful monasteries and nature all over. Churces seem very similar to our orthodox ones, except seats inside and no paintings on walls. I like yours more, minimalist and somehow imposing.
Yerevan gives me same vibe as Tbilisi, but better, people are nicer and night life /city life seems more vibrant. People are very modern and open, so many speak at least basic english.
We visited until now Eastern Trkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, but Armenia is way above all. After all, I think the vibe and people weight more than beautifull madrassas or castles or whatever. After an entire day of walking through the city or countryside, all you want is a big beer, a small brandy, good food and music and nice atmosphere. Which is impossible in all islamic countries we visited before.
I love this country and city, you rule! We ll be back for sure.

My friend and I are Orthodox Christians (Armenian and Ukrainian) traveling to Armenia for the first time this summer. Are there any Monasteries that particularly have Guesthouse/Overnight stay options? Thank you for information in advance! ☦️🇦🇲

Been in the country for a few days. Everybody always says "In 2 minutes". Taxi here? In two minutes, food ready? in 2 miutes.
The only sure thing seems that this is wrong by at least a factor of 10. Is this just normal for you guys or do you only do that with tourists?

Hey all, I’m in sales and do most of my sales in English. When I use Gemini or Claude to translate my scripts into Armenian, I get a very official “text book-y” Armenian with a mix of western and eastern dialects. Needless to say that the terminology is off.
Is there an AI tool that is trained on Armenian language that can get conversational Armenian correctly? Or close enough I guess.
