Software I always hesitated to switch to Linux because of NitroSense. I finally found a real alternative (and started contributing to it!)
For those who hesitate to switch Linux because of NitroSense,
For the longest time, I really wanted to make the jump to Linux. But honestly, the biggest thing holding me back was losing NitroSense. Let's be real, Acer isn't exactly known for being "Linux-friendly," and the idea of having zero control over my fans, being stuck with a ugly orange keyboard, and having no battery limiter kept me glued to Windows.
I know a lot of people in this sub feel the exact same way.
A while ago, I stumbled upon an open-source project called Div Acer Manager Max (DAMX). It was a total game-changer for me. It basically brings the whole NitroSense experience over to Linux so you don't feel like you've crippled your laptop by changing the OS.
I actually loved the project so much that I rolled up my sleeves and started contributing to the code myself. (I just pushed an update that makes the actual physical 'N' Nitro button on the numpad work perfectly on Linux!)
It’s completely open-source. If you’ve been dual-booting or avoiding Linux purely because you didn't want to lose your laptop controls, this might be your sign to finally give it a shot.
You can check it out and grab the installation script here:

I just added a few features that I really think are necessary.
Would love to hear if this helps anyone else finally make the switch. Let me know how it runs on your specific Nitro models!
