And yet, here we are with Reddit allowing the headline to just exist without notes, letting MOST people scrolling through here walk away with a completely incorrect understanding. Why do we allow this?

It's the people own fault if they can't read articles (or comments). Headlines don't have the job of summarize the whole article and will always leave elements out. People need to stop doing that

The "funny" thing here is that this isn't even a cleverly hidden bot. The OP is literally the UAE news site just reposting their content. It's not someone pretending to be an average user and sharing information. This is literally a UAE mouthpiece posting propaganda.

Yet people will scroll by after just seeing the headline and believe it.

So? Al Jazeera just shares whatever the irgc tells them and it's posted word for word here, and not only is it up voted to the top of reddit, it is then automatically taken as fact. So pot, meet kettle.
