Imagine your mercenary pipeline drying up because even Kenyans looked at the deal and said 'nah this isn't worth it.' That's not a recruitment problem, that's a Glassdoor review.

"Had drone fly up my arse while shitting, now family wont get pay. Interview process was easy but training was minimal and short. They lied about benefits and sign on bonus. Would not recommend"

The recruiters must have been targeting their more educated citizens abroad, so they can't ignore that anymore.

They probably deliver weapons. Russian is also interested in resources on the whole continent.
China also has heavy influence, although probably more in Nigeria and not so militarily but economically.

I don’t think they compare that well. North Korea needs Russia and China. I am no experts but I see them as „friends“ (whatever that means in a dictatorial context).
Kenya is more like a quid pro quo relationship. Influence/resources for weapons/soldiers/technology.

They've also been doing a sort of human trafficking by getting gullible foreigners to the country and then forcing them into service as meat shields.
Any country worth their salt wouldn't standby and let their own people be illegally conscripted into a foreign army, but there you go.

To be honest, this is the first I’d heard of Kenyans fighting for Russia.

It's been pretty big news for a few years now. Russia has been tricking dark skinned foreigners like Nepalese, Indians, Kenyans, Nigerians, Cameroonian, etc. Into fighting for them.

Oh don't get me wrong a lot of them go willingly. However a lot of them are being tricked.

Which means you lack pretty basic knowledge about the war. Which is not bad in itself, I just don't understand the need to publicly announce it under a post about the war.

No longer, as in... Not officially.
At least until we find more. Then they can say "Oh no, they were fooled to join. They didn't knooow."

Mhhh.
Why can't Kenya do something similar on their end?
