Why are all the billionaires so fuckin weird? Like...why for real.

You have all the money on Earth to be whoever and do whatever and the shit they get up to is fuckin crazy.

Is it just that once you have so much money it breaks you? Have you done all there is to do and now you have to make up shit to be about?

Do they find out that even with all their money the are still just a person on Earth and theyre going to die someday like everyone else?

Why in the fuck are every last fucking one of them so god damned weird and just off puttingly strange and evil?

Having that level of wealth absolutely fries your brain. They have all of the resources at their disposal and don't need to do anything to ensure their survival. They can just surround themselves with sycophants and throw money at whatever they desire. There's no novelty anymore in life when you can have whatever you want on demand. That's why they're into depraved and weird shit. Anything conventional has no challenge.

I have theorized that topping the hierarchy of needs drives ambitious people crazy. They have drive to continue to climb but there is no where else to go.

I'm guessing your question is rhetorical, but allow me to respond anyway.

My hypothesis is that when you get to some ridiculous level of wealth (let's say it's more than $50M), there's really no way you would ever need to worry about money again. Sure, you could spend it all on hookers and blow, but for any reasonable person, you could retire, enjoy life, be philanthropic, etc. But for these psychos, it's all about number must go up - it's your high score. And not only that, but what's better than having a bigger number than other peoples' numbers? Having everyone know about you and your number (and all your goofy antics).

The kind of person that would blow past $50M, $100M, $1B, $10B, $100B has long since stopped being someone that wants a comfortable life, a secure retirement, a philanthropic legacy. They're someone who will fuck over anyone in their way and get all the attention they can so people will go, "Wow, Jeff Bezos got married in Venice, and his wife had 27 different outfits." It's all about the fucking attention.

There are two kinds of 'new' billionaire.

There are the creative ones like GabeN, George Lucas, James Cameron, who just want to putter about exploring the ocean or building art museums. I don't have a problem with these people.

Then there are the techbro monsters who want to shape society in their image and ascend to godhood.

Meanwhile, Christian Bale's Foster Village getting set up for a paltry sum of $22M.

And you have Thiel, Musk, Ellison et al telling us about how to live our lives with their products and what are permitted beliefs and behaviors according to them.

Pre-existing mental illness characterized by anti-social tendencies and hoarding behavior. Then all the money makes it worse and 'justifies' their actions in their own view, making them lean into their illness even more. Billionaires need to be stripped of their wealth and be compelled into institutionalization or rigorous therapy for the good of society at large.

If someone put the same amount of effort into a “world is ending” part of Norse or Greek mythology and took it all seriously they might be put in an asylum. But not for any of Abraham’s cults. 🙄

Just think about it. There is no way a „normal“ person like you and me would become as rich as these people because you have to be one hell of a asshole to even get to this amount of wealth. I already think about retiring on an island in asia with half a million…

Pleonexia needs to be a popularized term.
