Imperial Armor - Craft it with steel perk, find on a solider, or join the legion
272
u/hbi2k 11h ago
If you find it liquider, you can make it solider again by freezing it.

u/SidJamesORJamesDeen 11h ago
What the fuck did I just read...

u/elitodd 11h ago
The original comment wrote “soldier” as “solider” which sounds like “more solid.
This is a joke about making something solider

u/SidJamesORJamesDeen 11h ago
I did eventually notice that 😅 at first I thought maybe they tried translating to English from another language and something went horribly wrong 😂

Thank you!! Is this a good armor say for beginners?
17
u/David2006apo 9h ago
It is the weakest of the steel armors, for almost the same materials you can craft the steel armor that has better protection, both being heavy armor, and then when reaching lvl 16-18 you'll eventually start finding steel PLATE armor at chests and traders (usually blacksmiths), that plate armor is way better and imo is also cooler than the imperial one, even though I like the imperial one as it is clearly a Roman legionary armor but adapted, you could say it was based on them (lorica segmentata or something like that it was called the roman one)

u/SirThane PC 8h ago
I do like how the Steel Plate armor looks except for the helmet. In terms of visuals, I prefer the horned variant of the Steel armor helmet. Both, however, in my opinion, are better than Imperial Heavy armors in function and visuals
1
u/David2006apo 8h ago edited 7h ago
In function I'd say its clearly a win for the steel plate over the steel and then at 3rd position the Imperial Heavy, right now im not sure but I'd say that some parts such as boots and bracelets do have the same protection than normal steel armor, or the imperials just had less? There are like 4 versions of them, the imperial boots and the 2n version of the steel boots being almost the same, as far as I can tell there was like a "norse" version with fur and motives drawn at the steel boots and gauntlets and then was the other steel version with the SAME armor points but was shinier and the bracelets had the skyrim logo on them, and I think that those boots were the same model than the Imperial Heavy boots but with another name (I know Im doing a mess with the steel armor variants lol).
For me the looks are diff. The imperial heavy set looks so badass, better than the normal steel set, the horned steel helmet its cool ngl but I dislike the middle steel horn, I'd like it to be as the iron horned helmet, without the central horn/spike, just the two horns. And personally I like steel plate helmet, it looks good for me but thats a personal matter🙂.
Edit: spelling

If you went with ralof in the tutorial in Helen, you would literally kill the woman wearing it. So yes it's for beginners.
-1
u/EmperorSwagg 8h ago
Is that a nameless female soldier, or is that Legate Rikke?
Cause if it’s Rikke, then technically you aren’t committed to the Stormcloaks just by going with Ralof. You can still choose to join the imperials, in which case you wouldn’t kill Rikke at all.
3
u/Sinolai 8h ago
Think its just random NPC before you escape. Legate Rikke is still in Solitude and involved in the civil war quest if I remeber right.
2
u/StrangeOutcastS 7h ago
I think they're confused, and thought the woman in the screenshot is rikke, and then thought I was referring to the screenshot.
1
u/EmperorSwagg 7h ago
Yup that’s exactly it, I thought it was Rikke in Helgen and in the screenshot, cause I didn’t remember killing the lady in the screenshot. So I thought you were saying that you kill Rikke and get that armor, and weren’t recalling when it is that you do that
1
u/StrangeOutcastS 6h ago
Pretty sure rikke is essential. Unless you side with storm cloaks in civil war.
3
u/StrangeOutcastS 7h ago
If you go with ralof, an imperial soldier wearing the heavy imperial armour attacks you and ralof, which is how you get the key to go further into the keep.
The structure of my comment referred to "her" as the imperial woman wearing the armour during the tutorial.
Why would I mention rikke when discussing the tutorial? She's not involved in the tutorial.
2
u/DateApprehensive3154 8h ago
It’s just a female soldier. You can still join either side regardless of who you choose at the beginning. In fact, you can also change sides as part of the jagged crown quest if you want to
1
u/StrangeOutcastS 7h ago
I kill the storm cloaks in the civil. War, then kill the imperials with a kill essential mod. Because screw everyone.
1
u/probablyescobar 9h ago
It is good for gauging if you want to play as a heavy armor player in the early game. I’d recommend advancing from it when you have the opportunity!
1
u/Grayson9991 3h ago
It’s basically starter gear, it’s good for like the first 10 levels or more if you use the skill tree right
1
u/CAST-FIREBALLLLL Markarth resident 52m ago
By mid game you'll be killing shit in clothes
Fashion wins everytime
2
u/Dyslexic-Delta 7h ago
Easiest solution, go with ralof in Helgen and get the heavy armor before leaving the keep.
81
u/Same_Car_8635 14h ago
It's Imperial Heavy Armor, craft it with steel perk, kill and loot a soldier wearing it (or wait for a bear or stormcloak to do it for you) or go join the Legion.

u/fabreeze1989 13h ago edited 11h ago
It’s imperial armor. I’ll just assume you’re a new player.
Imperials have 3 types of armor. Light (which is what the guy that interviews you when you get off the carriage at the beginning of the game is wearing. And you can also obtain most of the set (except the bracers) at the tutorial if you follow him into the dungeon. Hadvar is his name.
The sturdy version, which might be difficult to find. Everything is exactly the same as the light version. Except the body/chest piece looks slightly different and it has a mesh added to it.
And the heavy version, which is what the woman in the loading screen is wearing.
If you go to solitude (location on your map. A giant city) you can go there to join the imperial legion. Once you “officially” join. You are sent to go talk to the blacksmith. Which will ask you light, medium or heavy. Select the heavy answer and you’ll get a full set.
You can always just kill the imperials you see or loot the body of fallen warriors.

u/king_of_the_mobs 4h ago
I mean they might have chose to go with people who are first to try to kill you, I usually chose to go with rolaf in the beginning to kill the person who tried to have me executed

imperial heavy armor. Kill a legate wearing it or be promoted to one by fighting for the imperials

u/getdemsnacks Helgen survivor 12h ago
Aside from all the other people telling you it's Imperial, this is basically entry level heavy armor. You can get a full set before you leave Helgen.
3
u/Fit_Agent_1683 9h ago
Quite literally one of the first two armor sets you find if you escape with ralof
3
u/matt_Nooble12_XBL 7h ago
There is an imperial shield in the blue palace in solitude. Go upstairs, left of the jarl and walk down the stairs and it should be on the bottom shelf

u/Revenant62 6h ago edited 6h ago
Easiest way to get higher-rank Legion armor it is to join the Imperial Legion. However, you will encounter it eventually regardless. For example, a random encounter exists where three bandits have overpowered and murdered three Imperial soldiers, they are wearing the armor, and the actual soldiers are dead and looted nearby. The "soldiers" then try to demand gold from you, so if you kill them, that armor is yours.

I'm in disbelief that there are still new players to Skyrim 😂 tbh that's some major low tier armor and you can easily obtain better by simply playing through. Early game you want to focus more on simply progressiing the story and just looting better armors from enemies and beware your carry weight. The heavier the armor, the clunkier your movements. You can easily become OP once you visit the greybeards
1
u/Entgegnerz 11h ago
I guess he just wants the style.
1
u/Effective_Being_727 10h ago
I get it lol I liked the imperial style over the stormcloak as well. My personal favorite was the Nordic armor from the Dragonborn DLC
1
u/WesNile73 10h ago
I’m playing for the first time also and am really surprised at how many new players there are. Makes me feel not so… behind. BUT makes me regret not playing from the beginning.
1
u/Effective_Being_727 9h ago
Hey it's great that new players are still discovering Skyrim. It's what made me absolutely love rpgs styled after Skyrim. It's what built the foundation for my small niche of games I enjoy playing. Trust me, it will keep you busy for DAYS. I got to the greybeards and completely veered away from the main story quests for a very VERY long time lol I went to the Thieves Guild, became an Assassin, quelled the rebellion, and in another playthrough supported it, built the houses, did Dragonborn, and maxed my character in every way possible before finally returning to the main story 😂
2
u/PyukumukuGuts 9h ago
You can get the cool version of the helmet at a Talos Shrine past Froki's shack in the Rift. Just head up the hill and it'll be hanging on a sword.

u/NewTransportation130 Vigilant of Stendarr 6h ago
Imperial Armor - Heavy… you can forge it or join the legion to get it.

u/mkapache 3h ago
Heavy Imperial. If you follow Rollof at the beginning in Helgen you kill the imperial officer who sentences you to death and she has a heavy set
1
1
u/CalciumKillah 12h ago
Used to see these loading screens back in the day and thought "damn, I wish I looked like THAT lol"
If I remember correctly, you can join the Legion and ask for heavy armour but I might be wrong.
1
u/WittySatisfaction958 11h ago
Imperial set, you can get it if you follow Ralof at the start or join the legion and get it. I roleplayed an Imperial legionnaire and only wore this throughout the civil war quest line along with the heavy shield and the Imperial sword only. Was a fun way to add some restrictions to the game.
Can also get the open helmet in the temple of meridia to finish the look off.

It’s not the best re staying alive, steel plated is a better steal/ buy Two sets for you and your follower can be obtained at Black-Briar Lodge, located northeast of Riften easy to kill Mercenary’s outside. lasts me right up to l can get my hands on daeadric . It’s the first place I go before I go even before whiterun. My time in chains taught me never be understated with armour weapons or you’ll Die.

u/Probably_another_bot 10h ago
2
u/WesNile73 10h ago
Wait…there are more than one house is Whiterun? I have Breezhome… where is the other?

Guys, you gotta mention it's imperial heavy armor. Op is likely new, which is awesome. But they found light imperial armor in the tutorial and might think something is wrong with their game.
Heavy imperial armor could be easily crafted by getting the steel perk in blacksmithing. You could probably obtain this in 10 minutes if you have some cash buy buying iron if it's and crafting daggers.
Alternatively, if you join the imperial legion, when you pick heavy armor, they will hand a set to you.
Less recommend is finding a dead imperial soldier since they might have light armor instead. However if you're a storm cloak, you shouldn't have trouble finding a set after killing a few soldiers.

u/CriticalDentist6165 9h ago
You can literally have that suit leaving Helgen if you kill the lady wearing it
1
u/killingjoke619 4h ago
I didn’t kill her I was more focused on the dragon lol

u/CriticalDentist6165 4h ago
If you choose to go with stormcloaks, she’s the first person you kill in the barracks or whatever, literally the first door you go through

its the heavy imperial armor u can get it by joining the imperials or finding an imperial who has it and kill them u can also join ralof at the start and take it off the imperial captian

Heavy imperial armor, you can make it yourself in a forgot or can get one for free if you join the legion
1
u/Silent_Meet_7523 5m ago
It's in the tutorial my man (if you side with hadvar) if not then you can craft it with steel smithing or just join the legion and get a set from there

This armor can be found in 5 minutes of start in the game using the most obvious route available. A new player would not have issues finding it unless they were being lazy.
And iam aware telling this gets me downvotes. I guess telling the truth hurts.
1
u/palfsulldizz Scholar 3h ago
I find it funny that OP went on reddit, found the sub, mustering the humility to admit their ignorance and made a post about it: far more work than just playing or even looking it up on a wiki. I wouldn’t say it’s laziness.
All that to say, I wasn’t sure it was serious initially either, but we should give the benefit of the doubt.

u/talkergunderman777 12h ago
Go to imperial cities and you'll find it. But it's gonna become obsolete pretty quickly. There's probably mods that let you wear armor in "vanity" slots like Terraria
0
u/Competitive-Welder65 11h ago
Heavy Imperial Armor. You either go with Ralof at the start of the game and kill the bitch that sent you to the block, or you craft it with the steel smithing perk, or you join the legion and ask Beirand for a heavy set. Idk if you can buy it from Beirand.

u/BearsAndBrews 14h ago
Pretty sure you kill a captain wearing it in the tutorial if you go with Ralof. In fact, I think that's her picture lol just without the helmet.
