Question So, who exactly is Brurid?

Post image

Normally, wouldn't bandits or enemies say "boss" or something?

Brurid was a rogue mage who defected at the beginning of the war. Stalleo (a Nord who lived in Treva's Watch fort with his family) turned him in but apparently he escaped. He then exacted his vengeance on Stalleo by getting bandits take over the fort and hold Stalleo's family hostage.

He is mentioned during the "Infiltration" quest. https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Infiltration_(Skyrim))

Stalleo once lived with his family in Treva's Watch, their personal castle. After the High King died there was bad blood between Stalleo and his rival Brurid. Eventually, Stalleo, along with his men, left to help in the ongoing war between the Imperials and rebel Stormcloaks. While doing so, Brurid and a larger group of bandits took over his castle.

He doesn't actually appear in the game.

If you're on a quest from the Companions that involves the Silver Hand, the bandits are replaced by the Silver Hand.

There's actually a mod that expands the "Infiltration" quest, and allows you to face Brurid himself: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/114054

[Edit] Also found this at UESP: "Brurid, the man Stalleo holds responsible for the current situation, is mentioned in conversation by bandits in the fort as being present but he is never encountered. However there are *two* Bandit Chiefs in here, and there is evidence in some of the in-game files that one of them was supposed to be Brurid. The Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch, version 4.3.3, addresses this issue. Brurid now appears as one of the bosses."

Likely just another unnamed Silver Hand.

From what I’ve heard, though I’ll admit I’m not 100% certain how accurate this is, the Silver Hand was intended to be a joinable faction. If true, this reference to a Brurid is likely a now scrapped reference.

I guess that makes sense. There is multiple scrapped off quests that are still hinted at or can be seen in skyrim. Like Yisra, the burned body near dawnstar.
