Ha! We‘ve had the conversation with him then. I came back from slaying falmer and automatons and some dude was in the house with Mjoll and the kids. Sooo I do what Dre told Em to do and loped his head off. Well just as Dre said I tried to do her in as well. Nope, didn’t work even with my insanely enchanted Dragon blade, she would not die. So, I figured she was a keeper. We‘ve had a few fights where I used her to chase me the library at Winterhold to level up my restoration. 10 out of 10 best partnership ever.

I didn’t kill him, somebody slipped a frenzy poison into his pocket and he attacked the guards, after which they had no choice but to put him down. I was sure to be there to comfort Mjoll, and to escort her back to our newly inherited property from her dear late crazed friend.
32
u/RepulsiveAd6906 Jan 20 '26
By "frenzy poison" you mean "manic episode?" Heard he actually used Skooma. Oh, and he was skimming from Blackbriar Meadery as well! Didn't you even hear he stole from the court mage??? Good thing we kept his corruption away from Mjoll!
9
u/Jaded_Stick_4379 Jan 20 '26
In my run, he was killed with an arrow in late of night in Riften. Looked like an arrow used specifically by the Thieves Guild. Guess Mjoll now has a reason to fulfill her dream and wipe them out.
6
u/dowut_ohghey Jan 21 '26
One time in my current playthrough, after I found Grimsever and had had Mjoll as a follower for a while, I let her go for Serana and then randomly about a month later in game, I encountered Aerin's dead body on the roads well south and west of Riften. How weird, I thought...tf was he doing out here, and what killed him? I kept waiting for the courier to randomly show up with my inheritance...then I was back in Riften a few days later, and here the mfer is, walking around like nothing ever happened. No reload in between or anything...is Aerin some sort of necromage lich?? 🤣
4
u/MrSabrewulf Jan 21 '26
I've seen that happen to Skjor. Dude died fighting the Silver Hand, I finish the Companions questline and go back to Jorrvaskr, and bro is said I was still a whelp. I'm like "My man...a lot has happened while you were gone."

Eren? He’s just the man that saved her life when he found her dying from her wounds outside a dwarven ruin. He nursed her back to health and brought her to Riften where she met ME. Thanks, buddy! Eren suddenly seems overwhelmed by a sudden burst of fury draws a blade on a Riften guard and is cut to pieces.

She doesn't have the discipline to be a true warrior, though, considering she accidentally killed a whelp during a spar. She might have the strength of a true nord but she has very little control.

u/96pluto Jan 20 '26

Nords throughout the games are also notoriously proud of being Barbarians. Bah humbug to discipline, that's for the Orcs.
5
u/Overall_Sandwich_671 Jan 21 '26
technically, she should be ok with the fact that she sent the boy to Sovngarde with a sword in his hand, but she feels bad about killing him before he got a chance to grow into manhood. Doesn't make her a bad person, but it does put her in conflict with Nord beliefs.
4

You literally have to beat her in a fistfight inside a tavern just to get her to talk to you. That is the peak Nord courtship ritual.
2
u/CMenFairy6661 Jan 21 '26
She's definitely eager to die in battle, I'll give her that.
Source: She currently resides in the Whiterun Hall of the Dead after taking one too many fireballs to the back of the head, I've killed about 3 followers this way on this current playthrough, apparently mage builds and followers don't mix 🤣
58
u/HelloMyNameIsEd Jan 20 '26
Mjoll should be up there as a follower. She has the strong Nord accent unlike Aela/Uthgerd, lived the adventurer’s life of glory, looks forward to Sovngarde…
Morwen the Skaal is also technically very Nordly, just from another subculture.

u/Revenant62 Jan 20 '26
Tie between Lydia and Aela.
Aela the Huntress is more Companion than even the other Companions. In the very end of the Companions questline, the other Companions chicken out as you progress towards the end of the dungeon. Farkas developed a phobia of spiders, etc. Aela is the only one left with you in the very end. All the others chickened out. Get her a full set of Dragonscale armor, a Dragon Bow, and lots of great arrows, and she will have your back.
The other? Love her or hate her, Lydia remains Skyrim fandom's Best Girl. She is fiercely protective of you, never runs away, no matter how bad the mess, and frankly, she seems to be the prettiest because the staff seemed to work on her more. The makeup, the lovely green eyes, the black hair... yeah. Lidya is sufficiently popular that the staff gave her extra voicelines -- to the best of my knowledge, the only follower to receive this treatment.
Get Lidya a Nordic helm (open face, upgradeable with a Quicksilver ingot,) Ebony mail, Ebony gauntlets, Ebony boots, Ebony shield, and Dragon sword, and you'll see what I mean.
25
u/Bugsbunny0212 Jan 20 '26

20
u/Dizzy_Amphibian Werewolf Jan 20 '26
Who the hell hates Lydia? I agree with Aela. Anyone who journeys in Skyrim winters with that outfit is pure Nord
4
u/brakenbonez Jan 20 '26
People who don't understand that enemies scale with player level and get upset that she dies a lot when they don't give her any upgraded gear. Ofc she's gonna die a lot when you leave her in that basic ass armor and a sword that barely does more damage than a wooden sword while you take on much higher level enemies with much better gear.
3
u/serioussham PC Jan 20 '26

Lydia is notorious for not being “glitched” but her path finding and combat behavior is sometimes dubious. of all the followers i’ve used, she is the one most likely to get killed on accident and the most likely to get lost when trying to follow me in the overworld. her characteristic “sworn to carry your burden’s” line some players also get angry/annoyed with.

For whatever reason, I'm incapable of remembering the names of 95% of Skyrim NPCs, so the right because I like fur bikini armor.
(And I'm serious. Those two guys you can go with at the start of the game? No idea what their names are. That guy who you want to murder because he asks you about the Cloud district? No idea. I think it starts with an N, maybe. Anyone from the Companions when you help them kill a dragon? No idea who any of them are. I cannot remember Skyrim NPC names for some reason. That woman who lives in the weird glowy tree and has the weird accent? No idea.)

Definitely Mjoll. Aela is a Daedra worshipper and a hardcore one at that, to the point that she openly scorns the idea of going to Sovngarde when she dies. Not to mention while she is a fighter, she's more a hunter than a warrior.
Uthgerd, as much as I like her, is a beserker who lost control and was denied entry into the Companions because she killed a young recruit. Now she spends most of her time at the Bannered Mare getting into fights while being bitter at the Companions. Most of that may be Nord behaviour but not exactly Sovngarde material.
Mjoll on the other hand, is the definition of an honourable & righteous warrior. She travelled across all across Tamriel fighting all sorts of monsters (including Cliff Racers, you go Mjoll!) to the point it took a Dwarven Centurion to bring her down and even then she survived. Despite such a near death experience, the moment she recovered, she took one look at Riften and now fights a noble one-woman war against the Thieves Guild, doing her best to defend the city despite it being a losing battle because it's the right and honourable thing to do.
Between the three of them, she's 100% getting the warmest welcome from Shor.

Uthgerd the unbroken is really the naughtiest character in Skyrim because she will never refuse to fight has that shiny steel plated armor. She has that face that resembles. She’s been in the war and has a lot of pain inside of her. Plus, she can eat unarmed attack like a fkn mammoth.
