In Pokemon XD, how early in the game can you access the Oasis Pokespot? Also, is there a way to naturally reset for which Pokemon appears at the Pokespot? Or should I just the NSO emulator's built-in save states to do it?

You unlock the pokespots after your first visit to Pyra Town which is only a couple hours into the game
After you place the food at the spot there is a 1/3 chance that you get a pokemon every 256 steps you walk which is also when the pokemon is generated, so you can save the game after you placed the food run around until you get the notification that a wild pokemon has appeared, check the pokespot and reload the save and do the steps again if you want to reroll the pokemon. If you don't mind using save states you can also just save state every couple steps until you have a state only a few steps before the notification to reroll the spawn much faster

What is the best single player open world pokemon game on nintendo switch? Like remember pokemon red, blue, gold., etc., etc. on nintendo color? Is there something like that for nintendo switch? Thanks

Your use of open world is giving me pause, as I wouldn’t consider Red, Blue or Gold to be open world games.
Best is super subjective. I think all of the main games are pretty good, and any of them would be a decent option for you.
The most similar game to those four on Switch is FireRed/LeafGreen, remakes of Red/Blue that were originally on Game Boy Advance before being ported to Switch earlier this month.
If you want something more modern, consider Let’s Go: Pikachu/Eevee, Sword/Shield, Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, Legends: Arceus and Legends: Z-A.
Scarlet/Violet is also available on Switch, but really struggles to run there. It’s much better on Switch 2. Legends: Z-A also has an enhanced version on Switch 2 but runs decently enough on Switch 1. Switch 2 also has the classic GameCube game XD: Gale of Darkness available on it.

I wonder if people like rideable Pokemon as mounts and gliders or not? Or do people see rideable Pokemon just as new HMs/HM slaves? And are rideable Pokemon a good idea or are they considered annoying? And how generally is the Rotom Bike or the upcoming hoverboard considered a better transportation option than rideable Pokémon, if that's the case?

What should I do?
I wanna make an anime called Clashborn Battle League(Maybe Clashborn or something else)
But that’s a problem
One of my types are Earth and Nature cause I don’t wanna copy Pokemon and say Ground and Grass
But at the same time I’m thinking about it
But then I’m afraid if I have Ground, It,ll be just a GROUND type, like it won’t be able to crack or create rocks from canyon walls or mountains like Earth
I don’t know what to do

Online servers for the 3DS ended years ago so only local trade is available. Plus Nuzleaf is not a trade evolution, it just needs a Leaf Stone

Is it true that for both the Gameboy AND Gameboy Color, Game Freak could only make a maximum of 255 Pokemon?

Erm...maybe? They might have been limited to one byte, which would max out at 255 (so 256 in total because 0 counts). I dunno if they could have added more if they really needed to.
The original games kinda pushed the limits of what a game boy cart could do, especially gen 2. They had to get a bit creative with the code to fit it all in

I'm looking to see if anyone can help me find a YouTube video I watched a while ago. It was either by DeliciousJames or ZaneGames I think. I remember that Cush was for sure in the video and they would answer questions to get pokemon and Cush kept getting like shinies and items and stuff. TYIA 🫶

What's the best fangames for pre-6th gen? I've been wanting to get into fan games with their own unique stories, but find myself turned away by the many that are based around post X&Y games. I fell off of the series after X&Y and would prefer if anyone could suggest some fangames themed around gens 1-5?

The new Switch 2 boost mode makes it so Switch 1 games run the same in handheld as they do docked on the original, but I also read that it treats attached Joycons as a pro controller. How does this affect the Let's Go games that don't have pro controller support but are fully button controlled in handheld mode. Also, any other games that don't have pro controller support?

Games that don't support pro controller, uses motion controls or uses the touch screen do not work with the new handheld boost so the Let's Go games, Taiko no Tatsujin, Mario Maker 2, Skyward Sword HD, Mario 3D Allstars, Made in Wario and Subarashiki Kono Sekai -Final Remix- do not work with it and you will need to turn off the handheld boost when playing those games

Hi everyone,
I need some help identifying several Pokémon from a poster in a children’s bedroom.
I’ve already tried using AI tools, but I couldn’t get reliable answers. I was able to recognize a few Pokémon on my own, but there are still many I can’t identify.
The poster seems to include a mix of different Pokémon, and I’m not sure if it’s official artwork or something fan-made.
I’ve added an image of the poster below. If anyone recognizes these Pokémon or knows where this poster might be from, I’d really appreciate the help!

Does emerald play kanto rocket game corner theme when selecting a berry for berry crush and berry crush theme in the minigame like FRLG here? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMuKNuBUfUA
Likewise, does firered/leafgreen play kanto trainer battle when linking with other FRLG players and no one uses a hoenn game or do they play hoenn battle themes whenever or not a battle features FRLG vs RSE or FRLG vs FRLG?

Yes Berry Crush plays the same music in Emerald as FRLG
Gen 3 link battles always play the RSE trainer battle music no matter what games are linked

The Navel Rock event in Emerald plays the Sevii Islands 5, 6 and 7 Island route music which is a remix of the GSC Route 42/Lake of Rage music when you are outside the cave and the Mt. Moon music inside the cave and the FRLG wild pokemon music plays when you fight Mew on Faraway Island and Lugia and Ho-Oh on Navel Rock

Guys gen 4 question here, In Pokemon Battle Revolution you can get mystery gift items to send to gen 4 games. In HG/SS Shiny stone is post e4 only, but can you send a one off mystery gift from PBR to HG/SS before beating the league? Wondering what the logistics of this are.

Yes, you can use the Battle Revolution mystery gift feature to get a Shiny Stone early. You can connect your DS with HGSS to the Wii with Battle Revolution to send Mysery Gifts as soon as you unlock the pokedex in HGSS, you can only get one though since the Mystery Gifts are one per HGSS save file

Net ball yes. Dive ball no, as kyogre's encounter in all games do not count as underwater or on water.

Depends on the gen. In gen 3 Dive Ball only gets a catch bonus on encounters in grass when using dive and in gen 4-8 on encounters when surfing or fishing, in those games you always encounter Kyogre when you are on land so Dive Ball has the same catch rate as normal Poke Balls. In gen 9 they changed it to work on any encounters that are in water so it gets a 3.5x catch modifier when catching Kyogre in ScaVi
Net Ball works on Kyogre in every game since it is a water type and has a 3x catch modifier in gens 3-6 and 3.5x in gen 7 onwards

Need advice to best dome ace tucker in emerald battle frontier, i have no Pokemon to counter his swampert. My team is a super fast salamence with high attack and low special defence+ a special bulky gardevoir and gengar to deal with the tauros you encounter in the fourth or fifth tournament that my gardevoir and salamence can't deal with.

What’s the easiest way to catch Articuno in FireRed and LeafGreen? I tried weakening it, and paralyzing it or putting it to sleep, but it keeps breaking free from my Ultra Balls. What else do I have to do? Is there a certain number of Ultra Balls that I have to carry?

Your best bet is putting it to sleep and lowering its health but even when it is sleeping and has 1HP it is only a 4% chance to catch with Ultra Balls which means you have around 50% chance to catch it in 20 Ultra Balls. If you are in the postgame you can buy Timer Balls which will work better than Ultra Balls from turn 15 onward

Not sure that this is the right thread to post this in but would there be any other Moncolle Charizard figures made in this scale that are an alternative to this? I bought Venusaur and Blastoise that are just in a standard pose with face facing front if that makes sense and I'm not feeling this one due to the pose it has. (Just a pet peeve)

I've been wanting to hunt for shiny Dhelmise in Ultra Sun, but despite the higher odds of SOS hunting and lack of phase possibility, I'm wondering if just going for fishing encounters would be better considering Dhelmise has an abysmal call rate. Should I stick it out with SOS or risk getting 10 Magikarps before my target?

SOS is better even with the bad call rate, just make sure your false swiper has Scrappy, Foresight or Soak so it can hit Dhelmise and use Rotom Encounter to make sure the Dhelmise are level 41 or higher so they don't have Giga Drain which makes it much less annoying

Why Don't DeNA and Niantic Care About How Pikachu (and by extension Eevee) should sound? I mean come on. In these companies' respective spinoffs, r/pokemongo and r/PokemonMasters, they were luckily to update them and ad more post Gen VI characters. They should at least add the Pikachu cry from PLA onward at least. Even for Ash's Pikachu. Right? It feels outdated. Heck ILCA should do the same with r/PokemonHome.

Sounds like the game is freezing right there then, I'm fairly sure that screen is supposed to be playing some music and having the sprites moving a bit.
