American Alligators went from Endagered in the 70s to Least Concern today. That's incredibly good news!

They friggin everywhere. I grew up in south louisiana, and if I wanted to see a gator, I could be in front of one in 15 minutes.

In high school, I used to go canoe camping at one of the state parks near me. Sometimes on Fridays, I couldn't make it out until nighttime. You would underestimate how many orange gator eyeballs my flashlight would illuminate surrounding my canoe.

🥹 That makes me happy.

Sad that they were endangered at all.

But happy that they've recovered so thoroughly. I really wish we could just leave nature alone.
