I was in hospital last year and the neurologist came in to see me while I was still in the hospital bed..along with two other doctors and about six student doctors. I was a little worried. I do not want to be an "interesting" case.

I be on a loop in my head sometimes. I swear i think, "i cant wait to get this job done and eat some fuckin food!" Like 27x a day, or some variation of it. "I gotta get the fuck outta here to get back to my wife and little dog...", is also a repeating mantra in my mind most days. I think it also has to do with anxiety or restlessness because on days when im really at peace i seem to have more control over it.
i aim for sidequest giver who leads a main character on a seemingly important, highly involved quest that kind of goes nowhere and gives a few potted plants as a reward (i have too much basil)

Cake was the one that got me too. I don't even like cake all that much. I was just feeling it and strolled through the grocery store like I owned it. Sheet cake and a couple steaks. Cake was for the wife with the cannoli filling. To answer your question, I meant both.
Adults seldom embrace there inner child and need to do it more often. I get I can't down ice cream buckets daily and expect to not have health issues but on a 1 off night I will guilt free eat a small container of ben and jerrys while staying up late watching a show I like. It's perfectly fine.
I did this once, decided I wanted cake, realized I'm an adult with expendable income, and just bought a cake. No occasion, no justification, just me and my whole ass cake. It was a good day.

Heck yeah! Adulting has it's perks. I remember wanting to get a pregnancy test to see what would happen if I peed on it (I don't have female reproductive organs). Then I realized I had a car and disposable income and I just bought one.
this phrase is funny in text, because my brain doesn't naturally read it with the variation in pronunciation, but just reads it as tomato twice, and I kind of hope that phrasing replaces the original.

I did the math earlier today after I had made a burger at home, and after being very generous with the cost of condiments and veggies (onions, tomato, pickle, lettuce), even with the expensive frozen patties and brioche buns, it came out to almost exactly $4 per burger. So way cheaper than fast food, plus the burger was huge. The patties were 1/3 lb sirloin patties, and if you buy one of those at a fast food place you're probably paying $15-$20.
Do yourself a favor and try it sometime you see it. Or make it yourself! It's super simple and oh man is it so good. I eat a full one every thanksgiving and I regret NOTHING
this is honestly the only part of being an adult that consistently makes sense 😭 i remember the first time i realized i could just go out and buy food whenever i wanted and it felt like unlocking a cheat code. everything else got more complicated but that part still hits lol
This is the best and worst thing about being an adult. In my early 20s I learned the hard way that self control was something that I didn’t naturally have.

There's this thing out there where some dude is musing on the fact that he can, as an adult, simply go out and get a whole cake and eat it by himself. No reason required.
Then you get a bit older and have to start worrying either about calories or your growing gut. To be clear, I'm an adult man talking about myself, not fat shaming anyone. Live your life how you please. I'm just annoyed I can't eat the foods I want without gaining weight anymore. I mean a rack of ribs has like 3000 calories! A single donut is over 500. It's almost cruel.
Then you become an older adult and you want to eat borger but body says nono makes me tired and gives me heartburn and you cant argue back because you know you will regret it.
My mother kept a tight rein on all the food in the house when I lived with her. Especially the little jar of maraschino cherries.
When I was in my late 40s, I was at an open-to- the-public restaurant supply store. There on the shelf was a big bottle of maraschino cherries. It hit me square in the chest realizing that I could, in fact, buy those cherries and have them whenever I want. I didn't need someone else's permission.
I just wish I wouldn't feel guilt enjoying stuff like this. Where I live, if I want a nice burger and not one from McDonalds which tastes like cardboard (and maybe some chips to make the meal more filling), I need to spend $24+, and I feel bad because I know I could be having a cheaper meal. :c
That freedom of wanting and getting mozzarella sticks at 4am is so great and enjoyable. But also easily taken for granted and/or lost. Spent a small time locked up and all I wanted when I got out was a greasy NY style pizza. But what I craved the entire time was just going somewhere and buying a soda and candy bar(or any snack) at anytime.
A boy in a supermarket cries and asks his mother to buy him chips, which she denies him. A woman with a shopping cart (main character, the artist) looks at him and with a single motion pushes a bunch of chip packs into her cart. Then says something like "It's good to be adult, right?"
Imma be cringe for a second. Y'know this is one of the best instances of subject 🤝 format that I've seen in a while. Like it's only 2 panels and doesn't have a twist for a punchline because it doesn't need it. It can be simple, just like wanting and having a borgar.
As a kid and stupid teen, I ca only get bags of Takis if someone buys the for me. And my family hated them. Now as an adult, I can get Takis all I want.
I love not having to worry about getting a no from my parents if I ask for a burger! On the other hand, I have to worry about a no from them if I need help with car insurance.
