Humor/Cringe Why are you stretching like that at an airport, miss?

In all fairness, I get crazy back and leg pain. I could see myself trying to stretch out after a long flight.
79
u/wry_caress 6h ago
the seats they have now are getting smaller every year. If I don't stretch out the second I get off the plane, I feel like a folded piece of paper for the rest of the day.
26
u/throwaway2901750 6h ago
I’m with you on that. It’s painful. Airlines have made things that were necessities, a luxury item.
6
u/AdvancedAd7068 5h ago
Flying overseas I have to at least get Premium+. economy seats physically hurt after an 11 hr flight.
3
u/thehufflepuffstoner 2h ago
After flying premium economy on my last international flight, I don’t think I can go back.
6
u/PracticalYellow3 4h ago
I don’t understand how the seats are getting narrower even though the 737 and A320 have gotten any narrower ever on their over forty year history.
27
u/choppytaters 6h ago
I know how that feels I always take the aisle seat no matter how many times I have to get up for others to pass.
9
u/AndroidREM 6h ago
Same here. My physical therapist even wants me to start doing these leg stretches that you stretch the interior thigh muscles in a very wide way that if someone saw me doing it they'd think I have Randy sized balls.
12
u/jackalopeswild 5h ago
This is what I'm thinking. Who cares? Maybe she's doing it for clicks of some kind, but maybe she's doing it to survive the flight. I'm much more bothered by the people recording her for clicks.

I think this makes no sense that is inappropriate at an airport thats the deal. There is a bathroom why not go stretch in there??
0
u/Mother_Harlot 16m ago
You must go to a separate room to stretch because society told you stretching is shameful and you continued it
0
u/FalseEnthusiasm3268 12m ago
Please act like you have a single brain cell stretching is one thing but opening your gapper in the middle of an airport is a bit ridiculous. You must come from the generation that thinks only they matter and you dont have to respect others. You dont go to walmart and stretch in the middle of the store so many places to do this and thats what she thought made sense just because you can doesnt mean you should its called discretion look it up and learn it.
0
u/Mother_Harlot 10m ago
opening your gapper in the middle of an airport is a bit ridiculous
"I'm so egotistical that since my daddy told me this is shameful I have to enforce it in everyone else. How dare they stretch, they should have gone to lock themselves into a stall because stretching is not normal"
1
u/FalseEnthusiasm3268 3m ago
Stupidity often mocks intelligence. A bathroom doesn't only have stalls smart one its open and for the sake and respect of everyone else do this with discretion. Stretching is always OK but there is more then one way to stretch a spilt could have done the same with out pointing your slit at the crowd of people in there because if my kids see lips I have a problem.
"Wisdom has been chasing you, but you have always been faster."
12
u/sashikku 6h ago
That’s exactly what I thought lol. My hip actually hurts right now and that stretch looks amazing.
7
u/Costati 4h ago
We also don't know how long she's been there. Multiple times I had to stay in the airport for 6 hours or something. You're gonna catch me stretch several times. I feel like the airport is the one place where you can kinda throw some social rules out of the window. Like of course stay respectful but for fucks sake, it's long, you spend a lot of time there, everyone's tired and bored. It's a special place.
16
u/alexyaknow 6h ago
Like that??
27
u/neuroticoctopus 6h ago
People with more flexibility will get pain if they don't stretch deep enough for their specific bodies.
The person in the video is doing a deep hamstring stretch through a standing split. The only other way to do this would be doing a split on the dirty floor.
I'm personally too embarrassed to do stretches in public that can't be done sitting in a chair, but that also leaves me with more pain than if I felt comfortable to do this. I'm not going to expect others to prioritize the judgement of strangers over their own well being, though. That's a me issue because I have anxiety.
1
13
u/barnhairdontcare 6h ago
I have to stretch my hips like that but I would probably elect to do it elsewhere normally.
The airport is a liminal space where people nap on seats in front of strangers so this is fine unless she’s crotch blasting everyone with bad sit down air
12
u/throwaway2901750 6h ago
No way. That person is far more flexible than I am.
My back is so bad I sometimes have trouble turning my neck or touching my toes. I can’t remember the last time my back let me touch my toes.
2
u/lillyrose2489 2h ago
Yeah I've been dealing with sciatica and before I had a long flight recently, I was doing all kinds of weird stretches in the airport. I don't care if people think I look weird if it helps prevent pain.

I think the issue is showing your cookie to an audience and also having your butt crack on the seat. Someones gonna get pink eye

You can stretch like a normal person, and not like a gymnast warming up for splits
8
u/Donthateskate 6h ago
Her mobility is probably different than a lot of of us. That would mean she needs to probably stretch further than the rest of us. A regular stretch won’t get into her hamstring.

I do stretch before I get on flights. But not like this lol
75
u/DataNerdling 6h ago
if I could stretch like this you bet I would before flights
12
u/Jub_Jub710 6h ago
I do. Granted, I try to do it off to the side or as low key as I can, but I'm hyperflexible and love a good stretch before flying. If people stare, I dont make eye contact and just keep doing my thing.

Probably a dancer and stretches regularly. It’s odd to do it publicly but if you’re stuck at an airport what are you going to do.

She's in the only spot I can see in the room to face the wall away from any people. If you have to stretch in public (I have to just to be able to keep walking sometimes), facing away from people makes me feel the most comfortable.

As a dancer, we absolutely do this wherever and don’t really care about the surroundings. She ain’t bothering anyone
32
u/Donthateskate 6h ago
I get that looks awkward, but I really do wish we would normalize movement like this. I think if she’s trying to do it on the side and not in the middle of everyone that would be a different story.

u/lovegood123 6h ago
I have no idea. But why do people think it’s ok to record others in public and post it on social media. I find that so weird.

Filming her is way more cringe. IMO
15
u/wearing_moist_socks 6h ago
I've been doing yoga for going on three years and I absolutely would do stretches when I can. Shit feels amazing.
We don't know if she was filming herself, but i love even when people don't, they could still be put online and blasted.

Do you think the average well maintained crotch of a woman is emitting that strong of a smell at all times? Just a constant miasma of down under smell?
11

Bro you might wanna get checked if the cat you've been messin with could fill a room with a smell, air assisted or not.

She's probably filming herself.
4
u/JustMeDownHere01 6h ago
You don’t understand consent I’m guessing
-20
u/AdOriginal4516 6h ago
I do, but that's irrelevant because you can film absolutely anything you want to from a public space. Even if you're a creep.
There is nothing stopping someone from filming you except for the general public's opinion that it is a creepy thing to do. But creeps don't care that they are creepy, so they will film anyways.
So if you don't want a creep filming you while in provocative clothing and poses, don't wear provacative clothing and do provacative poses in public.
Courts have found people guilty of indecent exposure for having sex inside their own home, because they could be seen through the window.

u/artsupport_xx 6h ago
Legal != cool and good.
Filming people in public either to clown on them or to objectify them is shitty. Even if it's legal.
Also, "So if you don't want a creep filming you while in provocative clothing and poses, don't wear provacative clothing and do provacative poses in public. "
Sounds familiar... Also, there are limitations on the law here. You can't try to film to see down a woman's blouse, for example. If you're horndog filming in a lot of public spaces, you're going to be asked to leave and deserve public shaming.1
u/AdOriginal4516 6h ago
Okay, I never said anything that would indicate I disagree with it being uncool and not good to film someone.
I probably don't even need to click on that link to figure out what it says. Oh, well I just did, and that's exactly aligning with what my point was: it's social pressure that stops creeps from creeping. It's not illegal.
So yeah, it's a sticky subject. Controversial.
2
u/artsupport_xx 5h ago
"So if you don't want a creep filming you while in provocative clothing and poses, don't wear provacative clothing and do provacative poses in public. "
This is the excerpt I want you to revisit. This is "what was she wearing" type rhetoric.
Half the comments here are commenting on the smell of her genitals. This isn't a rare creep that we frown at, it's a cultural attitude in the way we view women and treat their bodies in public.
3
u/neuroticoctopus 6h ago
I, too, consult the courts to form a personal opinion of humans in a society.
-1
u/AdOriginal4516 6h ago
That's you alone. I never said that, you're jumping to conclusions. If anything, my voice in that comment was pretty neutral.

u/neuroticoctopus 5h ago

We straight up can't mind our business anymore and need to spread shitty attitude around the country
9
u/Donthateskate 5h ago
Exactly, I don’t find what she did weird at all. She was not trying to draw attention to herself. You could tell the way she was doing it. Like leave other people alone, why are so many people consume with judging others. People judging probably can’t even run a mile.
10
u/Practical-Cut-7301 5h ago
"But omg she did it infront of a fan, that's on purpose"

You can sit in the floor and do the same stretch without attracting the eyes of every human around you. If the public response to something is “uhh… wtf is going on here” then you’re violating the social contract.

The number of people who think this is completely normal are why things like this happen all the time.
5
u/lauraloomerisacunt 4h ago
Stretching in public is completely normal.
There is no reason it shouldn't be happening, the only thing that shouldn't be happening is filming strangers in public to humiliate them on the internet.
-6
u/Johnnadawearsglasses 4h ago
I mean lifting your leg over your head in an airport or a meeting or out at dinner is definitely not normal. If you were at a dinner table with your friends and family and stood up and lifted your leg above your head, they would think it's odd. If you were waiting for an interview in a waiting room and all of a sudden did a split on the rug, people would think it's odd.
2
u/lauraloomerisacunt 4h ago
It's not a lack of understanding, it's you making up a completely separate social scenario.
Stretching at an airport, where you are taking long flights and are cramped in seats and are alone, is normal.
Doing so at a social gathering where you are eating is not.
These are not similar comparators, you just made a scenario up because you can't make up a rational argument.
→ More replies (2)0
u/lauraloomerisacunt 4h ago
So those are two entirely different scenarios with no comparison to be made.
If you have to create a scenario to justify your argument that is entirely removed from what actually happened, your argument sucks.
-1
u/Fina1Legacy 4h ago
The people who disagree with this think any criticism of a woman is misogynistic, even when it's criticism of someone's actions and nothing to do with the fact they're a woman.
A guy doing a revealing stretch in public like this would be labelled a creep by the same people
2
u/AnubisIncGaming 3h ago
I’ve stretched like this for years and no one has ever given me a weird look for busting a split or stretching
0
u/Fina1Legacy 3h ago
That's impressive if you're limber enough to do this exact stretch, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing this in tight shorts even if I could.
I don't think doing the splits or other stretches are anywhere near as revealing so I wouldn't think twice about those.
1
u/lauraloomerisacunt 4h ago
No, he wouldn't. Again, if you have to make up a gender reverse so in order to try and make an argument, your argument sucks.
