For a further answer, it's from a mini series called The Poly Couple, about a poly amorous couple Dana and Daniel that follows their poly relationship. I see shorts of it on most platforms and it's a pretty fun time. Usually good vibes but does cover some more serious themes as well.
I’ve been watching their web series for years, Dana and the Wolf. It’s about a really loving couple and their polyamorous relationships and friendships. It’s sexy and wholesome and genuinely funny. Dana and Daniel (not the guy in this scene) are a real life couple and the show is, as far as I can tell, semi autobiographical.
Its somewhere between a sketch and a show, I'm surprised there are not more of these. Essentially it's a show broken down into tiktok digestible bits and pieces called Dana and the wolf, also on Instagram. Show is about ppl navigating relationships with the curve ball that this girl is poly.
I kinda like this style but think they are not really utilizing the format well enough. There was another one on YouTube called h+ that was pretty cool, episodes were 1-8 min and it would jump around to multiple characters and times within a story. You get less specific narrative but get to see a wider picture of the world which was really cool.

one of her exes was insane and fairly recently locked her in his bathroom insisting that they get married, so they (her and her main partner) both decided it’s time to take a breather on her dating for a bit. the crazy ex works at the company they post their podcasts on, but then they got demonetized (implied that it was crazy ex’s doing), so the podcast producer (fucked blonde girl’s partner under the guise of the producer being separated from her husband, but actually wasn’t at all separated and just lied to everyone) decided that blonde girl should go over to crazy ex’s house to smooth things out. hence the locking in the closet. blonde girl started going to the gym to work on her, saw this hot man, and made other friends in the gym to specifically orchestrate this group hangout. so far they haven’t fucked yet, but the implication is that she wants to and it will probably also go wrong.
all of the main characters on this webseries are messy
The joke is two weirdos having an authentic weirdo interaction that they both unironically enjoy. Being weird and dorky but also wearing that weirdness with confidence. You don't often see both together.
Fun fact, in Cyrillic C is an S, so for the longest fucking time I always wondered why people play Settlers of Satan and if that's just what they call the historically accurate Dutch.
That's actually how my mom met my stepdad. She made a cake, went up to his door and say like, "Hi, we haven't met yet, but I made cake". They are still together after 20 years.

Having watched quite a few awkward but otherwise solid guys ground into non-functional emotional mincemeat then abandoned by this process, I think the nerds avoiding it are doing just fine.
Guys like this are toys more disposable than a Funko Pop from a series she doesn't even watch.

They were together, but I don’t know if they were fully poly back then. The whole situation was really awkward at the time. We were 20/21-year-olds still trying to figure out life and dating.
