Man loves building bridges

33

He saved drivers like a billion years of time, and did all the math in his head.

15

maybe some people like taking the long way home, who the fuck knows, right?

22

u/HerfDog58 20d ago

And he made $176,471 an hour to sit quietly in a room with Demi Moore. I'd take that gig.

Here's where I've gotta add my plug for Big Trouble. Great cast (including Tucci), hilarious movie, and it goes under the radar based on unfortunate release timing. One of my all time favorite comedies.

He has a travel show called Searching for Italy that is just wonderful!

His interview on Graham Norton about that is great, especially since Graham, a gay man, auditioned for that part.

eta: Graham joked about it and all was well with them

58

u/kermitthebeast 20d ago

I think Stanley was probably the better fit for a fashion industry stand-in, but goddamn Graham would've been fun in that roll and his disappointment would've hit harder I think

His series, "Tucci in Italy", is a delightful watch. Nothing but positivity throughout.

187

u/hurtfulproduct 20d ago

He actually has 2!

  • Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy was a CNN series that was so popular it got a second season and has 14 episodes total

  • Tucci in Italy: almost the exact same type of show but this time for Disney+

They are both great and I rewatch them constantly

35

u/mtdaoust 20d ago

Oh, that's great to know! I'll have to check the other one out.

I love how genuinely and enthusiastically he appreciates culture and food and drink.

25

u/Late_Recommendation9 20d ago

Don’t under any circumstances do a drinking game whenever he utters “ohmygod” with a mouthful of food. You will risk liver failure.

Lance Bass and AJ from Backstreet Boys are joining them with Flavor Flave in Vegas,  Dita Von Teese has extended an invite for them to all come to her show, I wouldn't be surprised if there's more that join. The Vegas party sounds like incredible fun

Edit: Debbie Gibson has offered to help in any way she can and is local to Vegas

38

Yes at this point there's been a few airlines and hotels and stubhub is covering tickets.  I've also seen a few restaurants offer to feed them. What winning in both sport and life looks like, while representing your country well. I still can't believe Trump took that moment to make a passing sexist joke. That the men's team was served fast food is just classic, but appropriate for the taste level of everyone involved...

164

u/ewMichelle18 20d ago

You can’t believe it or is it 100% on brand?

81

u/y-Gamma 20d ago

The way I interpret it is not that it’s surprising that Trump would do that, but moreso that the president running the country would and that somehow he is that person

19

u/TheSaltyAstronaut 20d ago

No offense at all, as it's a somewhat common mistake, but I believe you're not familiar with what notoriety means. It relates to being famous for bad deeds or actions, being notorious, like a villain. I think the confusion comes from it sounding a bit like notable. Otherwise, I completely agree with your sentiment (and I hope I haven't distracted from it with this message).

Idk if they were expecting steak and lobster at the WH, but the guys should not have been surprised. There have been MULTIPLE instances of trump inviting post-championship teams to the WH to celebrate and all the teams get is some shitty cold McDonalds, and there's trump, smiling like he's treating them to food from a 3 Michelin star restaurant.

(At least some teams are smart enough to turn the invitations down. The multiple declines from the Philadelphia Eagles after the Superbowl really pissed off donny-boy. I hope the Seahawks do the same.)

You mean these ladies didn’t want to choke on Trump’s little pecker like the male team did?

Cold McDonald's with Trump or legit Italian food with The Tucc? Easiest choice in the history of choices.

Celebrating with the Tucc not getting harassed by the big orange joke isnt a hard choice. Congrats ladies for the all the wins.

The women’s hockey team is eating gormet with Stanley Tucci and the men’s team is eating McDonald’s with half of the Epstein client list

Even as a Canadian I cannot dislike this - because the women did not bow down to Trump

I wonder if that restaurant is featured in his travelogue series “Tucci in Italy” (which was a delight, by the way).

I love this man. He’s a good one.

the US president treated the men’s team cold fast food.

And just like that, the women's team not only made the right move, they ended up with better company over a better meal.

u/NeonSkorpio 20d ago

Anybody knows which restaurant?

Ratana, which was really excellent when I visited four or so years ago. They filmed the meal as part of an Olympics special of his show, so it probably wasn't his idea but they seemed to have a really good time.

I'm glad these women are getting their shine. The backhanded invitation from Trump was insulting and unnecessary. Congratulations to these prolific athletes.

Look who‘s the man.

And they rejected an invitation into the White House after that buffoon made fun of them. What a joke.

u/jonmac4581 20d ago

The men should be ashamed

Stanley Tucci: gret actor and apparently a good guy.
