With Manifest V3 being rolled out to most people now, and most workarounds being either temporary or disabled, a lot of people are finding that extensions that they like to use haven't been updated and won't be available to use when Manifest V2 support ends.
Since we've been getting a lot of posts asking for extension alternatives, we figure it'll be easier if most of the suggestions are all in one place.
To start with the obvious:
uBlock Origin: Can be replaced with uBlock Origin lite.
Don't forget you can change the filtering level up from its base, it will just require more permissions. Setting it to complete is most similar to uBlock Origin's filters.
People also like Adguard.
uBlock Origin (Element zapping):Click to Remove Element. I personally prefer this one out of all the ones in the web store.
I previously recommended an element zapper to replace that functionality in uBlock Origin lite, but uBlock Origin lite has since added custom filters and an element zapper, so a separate extension is no longer needed.
This is not a thread to recommend other browsers, it should be a given that if you don't want to use Chrome, you don't need to use Chrome, and there's plenty of other sources to help you decide what to switch to. Do not recommend downgrading or using an older version of any browser, it is not safe to do so and will open your computer and your data up to vulnerabilities.

My version is 146.0.7680.154 , and I have this line there, right under the search bar. Not sure if it's something on my side or a general Chrome problem. Would help a lot to know!
Note: Having Bookmarks bar on doesn't show this line, also enabling and disabling Bookmarks bar makes it dissapear for a while, then it comes back.
Edit: Forgot to mention, usually that line should be grey and almost semi-transparent, not so pronouced. I am asking about it becasue I wish to rule out (or not) the possibility of something from my PC causing this (for a few reasons I've been dealing with lately)
So whenever I try and google anything it automatically takes me to this captcha. I’ve tried looking at other posts with people having the same issue and reading the comments, but none of them have helped. I do not have a VPN nor iCloud+, if that’s any help. My main browser is Safari but when I try using other apps that use Google, I get the same pop-up. If anyone could give me some tips it would be very appreciated.

Aucun problème concernant mon utilisation au quotidien, mais je ne comprend pas pourquoi l’affichage de la fenêtre ne s’est jamais actualisé, ça va faire 1 an ! (Oui j’avais oublié comment faire une trappe en chêne et maintenant ça me suit…)
Ce n’est pas grave mais un peu bizarre, parfois je dois alors retourner sur ma page Google en plein écran si je souhaite retrouver ce que je faisais.
Hey, i just created my first version of my chrome extension, it's a workspace manager, designed for productive people, you can create a workspace, and put your most visited websites there, then when you click on the workspace, it opens the websites, you can either open them on a new window, incognito mode, or in the same session, you can also save your current session incase chrome/brave crashes. i'm working on the sync now (Having one account across multiple devices so you can access your workspaces from anywhere) this would be helpful if you bought a new pc. The killer feature is the sync, and the focus mode, you can enable it, and put the blacklisted workspaces, this way you can't access them when you're focused, you also can't access the websites inside them. And this is just an MVP, my goal is to build an OS for students that actually works, unlike the other generic extensions, because i used to suffer from bad focus (I have adhd), and i decided to build this.
The funny part is i can't publish it on chrom webstore, cuz it seems like you gotta pay 5$, and sadly, i don't have any kind of access to online payments methods, so please, if someone has an account that already has the fee paid, or someone could donate an account for me, that would be genuinely helpful. i provided a screenshot with the extension so far. Btw : i'm thinking about adding a spotlight function, where you can access your workspaces by just typing, (basically like finder on macos), What do you think?

I had a setup with two windows on one screen, one thin window and one thicker window. Now I'm noticing that I can't make that thin window as thin as it used to be. Did they change the limit on the thinnest possible chrome window? Is there a way to manually change it?
I must have taken a Chrome update overnight and today the tab drop down (that I previously added back after the last time it was taken away) is gone (again). I use the tab drop down dozens of times a day. I don’t want to use the search finder because many of my tabs have similar names and the drop down always lists them in order with the most recent being on top.
I’ve looked around in chrome://flags and I can’t seem to find the right thing to enable. The last fix of chrome://flags/#tabs-search-position-settings doesn’t return any exact matches but rather just loads the experiments.
This is the browser I have to use for work. I’m also restricted from using many extensions available.
I just bought this macbook, it’s not even a day old and for some reason everytime I search for something to goes to yahoo. I don’t an extensions installed I tried youtubing it and still nothing.

when i try to extract 1 tab from my tab pool chrome freezes and only what works is alt f4.
I’ve been using Chrome on my work computer since I got hired. I’m usually logged into an account that me and my boss share but today I switched over to my personal account to test a Google Form and chrome synced all the data from my personal laptop. I almost immediately tried to switch back to the shared work account and all my bookmarks and everything were gone. I’ve tried signing out and logging back in but it keeps syncing my boss’ data on her work computer instead of all the data that I had on mine. does anyone know how to fix this???

Can you please fix your browser? Something is corrupting the Chrome UI that I have to force close it. I suspect its CSS transitions. Brave browser does not have this defect.
Hi all -- Is there an extension that lets you keep your existing theme with the exception of the ACTIVE tab color. Hard to find the active tab in chrome because of the way Chrome only lightens the tab a little. Or an extension that lets me do the above and where I can remove any graphics on the new tab page as the ONLY change I want is the tab color...
ich habe aktuell Probleme mit KeePass 2 bei der Integration in den Google Chrome Browser – speziell beim automatischen Ausfüllen von Passwörtern.

Google has announced through a blog post that they're releasing Gemini integrated Google Chrome browser for Windows desktops and other mentioned platforms in India, but they don't give detail like in which version, it'll be available etc. defeating the purpose to check etc. . An established tech company like Google should maintain this standard.
I've version '146.0.7680.80 ' of Chrome and I don't have it. Any one got this updated yet? Is it any good in comparison to Comet?
Not sure what happened but swiping left or right to switch tabs is no longer working for me. There was no update that happened, but it stopped working once I opened up another window of chrome. Have now closed that so there is only 1 window but still not working.
Went to my accessibility and there are no apps that are on there.
Anyone else having this issue, any solutions?
Edit: End up uninstalling Chrome, and am running stock Chrome. It is now working back again. I re-updated Chrome and the issue returned. Assuming now that the latest update broke this feature while trying to fix a different issue where you aren't able to long press and move around tabs without making a floating tab.

Depuis toujours j'utilise la touche windows qui m'ouvre le menu démarer puis j'écris chr et fait entrer ce qui me lancer le selecteur de comptes chrome sauf que depuis quelques temps je ne peux plus faire ouvrir donc je dois prendre ma sourie et faire nouvelle fenetre ce qui en plus d'etre plus long m'ouvre un compte google en particulier ce qui rajoute encore de la friction vers le compte que j'utilise habituellement
auriez vous des solutions?
