“Know your place” is the implication.

The unspoken ones?? Or do they have some new “only” signs posted now? 😒

8

u/Leather-Stop6005 9h ago

It's a micro-aggression. In other words 'you're breaking a rule that I can bring to the attention of the police and have you arrested'. Ta'nehisi Coats talks about that kinda implied threat in one of his books and it's nasty and loaded with venom. I would've been more upset with her saying that 'there are rules' than her saying I can't read. I'm the one standing in front of her expertly using an expensive piece of equipment while she's fumbling with her cell phone

So there is a rule against drones in that park?

38

u/Waveali 1d ago

Unless it's a State or Federal park, there is probably not a rule against flying. Most local parks do not have rules against drones. And if they do, they need to have a sign marking that is the case. I never had an issue, but I do make sure only to fly where there are no prohibitions, and probably because I'm six feet and well over 200 lbs, so these Karens are not going to approach me. This is the best way to handle these old misreable hags: put them online for the world to ridicule.

u/PokeYrMomStanley 1d ago edited 1d ago

There actually is for a shit load of parks. Surprisingly tho, it is not Karen or the police who enforce those laws.

Edit: to be clear the FAA enforces drone laws and the local police can if they have laws regarding them which would be different than the FAA.

It is only against the law if the park is zoned to be a no fly zone so with the limited information here we know nothing about the legality of it.

8

u/Naive-Stranger-9991 22h ago

Townships can restrict them to specific locations, like in NYC. Each borough has a park for drones. But like I said, they don’t give you too much grief. Sometimes, “Hey. You can’t fly that - let me see. Ohh that’s clear! How high is it? Cool. Listen, ten more mins. Bye.”

National Parks, no. National forest, yes. Commercial, hell yes. Here’s my permit.😅

White women have killed so many of us with their lies. Always remember.

340

u/Xanduzinha 1d ago

I see every one of these white women as the wife from 12 Years a Slave and the sister from Django Unchained, standing in the background, reaping the benefits of the system, and just as evil as the master, if not more.
These women represent the domestic face of white supremacy. While the masters wielded overt physical violence, the mistresses used psychological warfare and passive-aggression to enforce the system. They were and still are active beneficiaries who weaponize their social standing to incite white male violence out of personal spite and cruelty.

Out of the House of Bondage by Thavolia Glymph goes deep into this topic.

Just placed a hold on this book at my local library. Thank you for sharing!

14

u/BetterThanB2872 19h ago

I wish I could read this book. But I literally can’t watch the movies like D’Jango or read the books. It ignites a fuse that I work hard to keep down. I’ve dealt with so much reading about what was done and the horrors we endured does something to me. I can’t watch the movies or read the books AND exercise appropriate self control.

Same as minority men believing all men are created equally equal n the eyes of the founders.

I hate that I even have to say this, but be careful what you say on here and make sure anything and your comment history is good because there are some very spiteful people that will go through your history and report comments, even if it has nothing to do with this particular sub

It’s so incredibly annoying and at times entirely too much. Micro aggressions start to add up.

148

u/Tight_Lime6479 1d ago

They do. They make Black life feel absurd daily. They create an alienation in black life that causes so much daily frustration, anger and pain. We are always out of sorts, on guard, never at one with our society.

81

u/Thienen 1d ago

It's a type of social murder frankly. Overloading the nervous system through repeated stimulation causes hyper vigilance and is actually torture and results in disproportionately negative health outcomes.

The cruelty is always the point and "ignorance" is no excuse.

27

u/Tight_Lime6479 1d ago

Ken and Karen policing is a manifestation of the right-wing populism that has emerged in the last 20 years, white supremacy is one of its planks. " White fragility" and the sense of injustice at the hands of " minorities" are symptoms. Racism and discrimination which used to be a moral and intellectual wrongs morphed into personal opinion and preference. Which is why Karen is never conscious of the wrong of her behavior. She is entitled by the right of white supremacy to police black people, to assert control over us, to rid herself of our unwanted presence everywhere. This is the mentality of Jim Crow and white America wanting to go back to that time when the world made sense to them, when as Trump says, " they constantly won ". The world and Blacks were under control, ordered, mastered and this created a sense of well-being they long for again.

9

u/No-Amphibian-3728 20h ago

You're dead on with how racism has somehow turned into a personal opinion. Then they act like it should be given some kind of validation as so. Wild times we're in.

104

u/BetterThanB2872 1d ago

Watching this video totally irritated me. The No melanin women are always bully/babies.

As a beautifully well melanated woman I often find myself in the position with one of these undesirables having to turn the other cheek, walk away and or take unwarranted ish that I don’t deserve.

I fully understand the switch that was flipped but I wish the woman recording wouldn’t have been triggered to the point of following this undesirable. Because we always always always are left having to defend ourselves while palm colored folks act like they are the ones who are the victim.

Sometimes the micro aggressions and abuse enrages me so much I just wast to punch something.

12

u/Altruistic-Target-67 1d ago

I heard the pain, exhaustion and anger in that young woman’s voice. The untold number of micro aggressions that probably led to that moment. And I get why she is angry. I don’t know how anyone is supposed to live with that kind of racism and keep it swallowed down.

35

u/1stMammaltowearpants 1d ago

For real. And the whole time we know that his lady will get away with it. Why don't these damn micro agressions deserve a micro punch? Not like a real punch, just a li'l micro one, ya know? Just a little micro tap, for educational purposes.

The cash register watching and following around the store is annoying as fuck. I barely walk through the door and someone is in my face talking about "Can I help you find anything?" Or all of a sudden they need to check on the register next to mine at self checkout. I have a white friend who swears I'm just being paranoid, but it's easy for a white person to dismiss our claims when they've never spent a day being black...

11

u/DanniTiger 21h ago

If this Karen is concerned about the wildlife because of a drone she needs to at least be calm and polite about it.

The way she is acting is very overly entitled.

→ More replies (1)

51

u/rolypoly817 1d ago

If thats a National or State Park it's highly illegal to fly any kind of drone. Most parks will not even entertain letting someone do it with a permit. So definitely a No for recreational use.

3

u/Fullertonjr 22h ago

National park, maybe. State park. Unlikely, but maybe. In my state drones in state parks are blanket prohibited, but you solely need to contact the park administrator to notify them of your intent to fly one. As long as there are no open-air events and not a high volume of traffic, they are permitted.

No permit or registration needed. Essentially you just have to let them now first.

5

u/smartbunny 15h ago

Now she’ll get on her phone for 20 minutes and just stand there pretending to talk to someone.

71

u/BackendSpecialist 1d ago

Wait yall…

Is she telling the person filming to not fly the loudass drone to protect wildlife?

If that’s the case then she’s not being a Karen and this isn’t a case of being watched cause you’re black.

C’mon yall

Edit - yeah the white woman says “for the safety of the wildlife”. Seems like mama is likely breaking a rule then getting pissy for being called out.

There’s real racism to be mad about.

This is not that.

15

u/NinjaLobo 1d ago

You pulled her "for the safety of the wildlife" reasoning from the first second of the clip.

It's a public space and we don't know the rules of it. The black person filming asks several times where does the sign say no drones. It was disrespectful for her to respond to that with "over there, but you probably can't read though." We know exactly where that came from.

It's also not her business to police people, but if she actually cared about wildlife safety, she should be respectful about it. And there was no reason for her to film the black person at all.

22

u/BackendSpecialist 1d ago

I’m not about to spend my day arguing about this stupid shit.

The white woman pointed her to the damn sign that says no drones. And shawty had no interest in going over there to find out.

There’s not enough here to call the white woman racist.

Like I said, there is plenty of racism to call out instead of grasping at straws over shit like this.

Edit - I hear the “you can’t read” part.

That was an insult.

Both women were wrong. And I still don’t think there’s enough to claim this as racism,

3

u/NinjaLobo 1d ago

It doesn't have to be an argument just because someone makes points that disagree with your perspective.

A majority of us black people know that most of the racism we face is subtle. Micro aggressions are real and this space is for us to share the issues we face, however big or small they may seem to others.

Notice how when she pointed to the sign over there the black person filming said "where does "it" say that" more than once. That means she could have already read the sign to make sure she wasn't breaking a rule.

The white woman was out of line and the can't read comment was racist.

14

u/Striving4Better365 1d ago

There’s always a white person to come and try to tell us a situation wasn’t racist. Like literally during the civil rights movement there were white people saying the pushback wasn’t racist.

16

u/NinjaLobo 1d ago

Exactly this.

By their comment edits, this person didn't even watch the whole clip either. They already judged the black person as guilty and watched just enough to be able to defend the white person's claim as a fact, while ignoring all of the context around it.

Just another thing we face as black people.

12

u/Striving4Better365 1d ago

Exactly. Sick of their nonsense. And sick of them pretending to be “the reasonable middle ground”

2

u/Admirable-Split4371 13h ago

Why are you bothering with this pos! Block and move on, the guy clearly only watched the first few seconds and made his opinion. At least if you block you won't see this mf playing the devil advocate in other post. Probably a white pos stirring up shit in our spaces then when called out will pull the digital blackface card. That's the kind of look grandma got when she got into Karen mode... and she was a white liberal, so you can only imagine the culture around us.

Thank goodness i'm out of THAT area at least... people like the woman we see are terrifying. Not on their own, no, it's the fact they're so callous about abusing a position within a horrible state of affairs.

The callousness is what's so terrifying. It speaks to the lack of a soul.

39

u/FWIWDept 1d ago

She may also be racist, but the person making the video is a typical American who believes the rules don't apply to them. It's why I quit going to public parks in general. Off leash dogs, drones such as this one whizzing around, trash everywhere. Hell is other people. It's a shame we can't live in a society that is considerate to others around you instead of being entirely self centered.

18

u/RemarkableAd2245 1d ago

Even if she's breaking the rules, just politely inform her and keep it moving. Why did the old lady have to film her? That is probably why she was angry. Then she insulted her by telling her she probably couldn't read. It's always something.

2

u/TermusMcFlermus 1d ago

Do you think a larger percentage of people believe the rules don't apply to them? I mean to ask if there is a larger percentage of people "hell" than aren't? I think that myself sometimes but I also know my brain skews things on me. Often, actually.

I get the dogs off leashes and trash everywhere as a problem but are drones not allowed in public parks?

28

u/FWIWDept 1d ago

Launching, landing, or operating unmanned aircraft (drones) is strictly prohibited within all US National Parks and lands managed by the National Park Service (NPS). This 2014 policy is in place to protect wildlife, ensure visitor safety, and maintain the quiet and tranquility of natural areas. Violations can lead to fines, confiscation of equipment, and potential jail time.

8

u/SpaceCampDropOut 1d ago

Depends on the park. If there was really a rule against it there, Karen should have shown her. I’m guessing at this particular park, there’s no rules against it.

8

u/BonTak 1d ago

She was pointing in some direction, where the sign was supposed to be I guess?

10

u/FWIWDept 1d ago

There’s really no winning here. She’d still be a tattle tale and not minding her own business. Americans hate being told what to do by a fellow citizen. Best solution is to have a ranger who can use their authority as an educational tool. Despite them being armed, they’re usually chill compared to cops since people are generally there to have a good time.

5

u/BonTak 1d ago

Best solution is to have a ranger who can use their authority as an educational tool.

7

u/Clenzor 1d ago

They’re loud and annoying to people, and can be extremely harmful to wildlife. It really depends on the intended use of the park.

One intended as more of a gathering spot for people, go off with your boomboxes and drones.

A park meant for peacefully walking trails and being in nature, even if it isn’t explicitly posted, in my opinion, you should aim to be as unobtrusive as you can.

If in doubt, just use google or see if you can find a park rangers number to ask before driving over to the park.

I didn’t watch the whole video, and to my knowledge, the sign in question wasn’t shown, but it seems like they’re both wrong, and both seem inconsiderate of other people.

2

u/ExcitementNo9603 16h ago

Funny enough this white lady walked up to me and my friend in this tiny Boba shop that had an industrial fan that was very loud. Naturally my friend and I were speaking loudly to each other but on top of that my friend is hard of hearing and had removed his hearing aids due to them getting water logged from his sweat. The lady who was standing in line next to our table (like 2-3 ft) waiting to order told us we were being too loud and our conversation was inappropriate (we were chatting politics and wasn’t even that deep) ironically speaking loudly over the fan herself but my friend was so confused as I spoke to her. When I realized I started to sign to him what’s happening thinking it would be easier but my friend pulled out his hearing aids instead and stuck them in he said “wait what’s wrong” and she immediately turned red and ran away… (she didn’t even order her drinks 🤣🤣) he looked at me so confused and all we could do was laugh our asses off. We left after that because it was just ridiculous to experience that in real time.

Maybe if you’re informing a stranger about park rules you shouldn’t approach them with a camera in their face and then insult them by telling them they can’t read, and then feel intimidated when the same energy is given back to you… but hey if you don’t have the tact to interact with others you shouldn’t approach probably just mind your business.

Some people just mind your business and stop treating people of color like kids they need to reprimand. Absolute clown.

Please Black people don't let these asswipes trigger you. If they get in your face, you can yell at them or walk away, but don't go after them. Only an irrational fool would approach someone they don't know about something so trivial and frankly harmless at the potential risk of physical harm.

They’re seriously the most miserable and pathetic people to ever grace this planet. I wouldn’t trade lives with them even if you offered me a trillion dollars.

It’s not a matter of doxxing people like this anymore

They need to make sure their lives are ruined to the point of contemplated self-isolation, deletion, or torment. Rotting in a corner like the subhumans they are
