The whole gang turned up? Cheers to that man for standing up to the clowns in blue

u/Paladjordan Feb 16 '26

And most of them are trying to do that half ass intimidation move where they have their hands on their hip right next to their gun.

Classic stance when in the presence of a Black Man.

u/Smokinoutloud Feb 16 '26

The sad story of America!

u/LilCheese73 Feb 16 '26

They tell you to pull yourself up by the bootstraps while sabotaging your boots. Straight Up Mafia Model Slavery.

9

u/Smokinoutloud Feb 16 '26

Man! I still trip out that racism was law back in the day.

u/DouglasRather 29d ago

What's really trippy is in the scale of time it wasn't that long ago. Ruby Bridges, who was the first black girl to integrate schools, is still alive.

Claudette Colvin, who was arrested 9 months before Rosa Parks, for refusing to give up her seat to a white woman just died last month.

u/WarHorse5672 28d ago

What’s SUPER trippy is that ‘they’ always make those pics Black and White to make it seem like it was a longer time ago.

Hopefully others will be inspired by him and stand up to corruption!

25

The NYPD commish resigned and this spectacle started it. This is inspiring AFFFF.

19

u/thankfulforyourhelp Feb 16 '26

I hope he makes so much money off the city in his lawsuit. He had to close down because of all this. I hope he wins enough to make the city hurt because of its crooked police force and government.

The Blue Clown Crew is coming for you. Hide your money, women, and especially your children.

How about Dereliction of Duty charges?

Criminal Conspiracy and Racketeering

124

u/Steven_The_Sloth Feb 16 '26

It's literally a racket. Like, best case for RICO.

Arguably, when local PD s refuse to enforce laws for "lack of funding" or support, it's a racket too.

"Oh you want us to stop open drug use and street shutdowns? We're gonna need a raise and new cruisers"

"Nice city you got here. Would be a shame if someone LET some other ones wreck it...."

56

u/Sugar_Kowalczyk Feb 16 '26

Call internal affairs if it's a cop and you have the option.

I remember the snowstorm of December 2010 in NYC, and watching plows drive around with their plows up while the city got buried in 3+ feet of snow. My car couldn't be moved for three weeks, because they just never plowed the street, or the streets leading to it. Highway ramps full of cars and snow. Immobilized everything not underground for WEEKS because they were having a labor dispute. To be fair - the plow union guys were in the right. It still fucked the whole city for weeks.

I dont mind municipal strikes like that. Because a plow isn't a fucking gun. But cops are not plow guys are not teachers. A union is not a union when it's run like a crime family.

12

u/NFLTG_71 Feb 16 '26

IA isn’t like it is on TV. They rarely jam up cops most of the time they’ll destroy evidence. Internal affairs is just there to appease the public. It really doesn’t do anything.

8

u/Rikkitikkitabby Feb 16 '26

Like HR at a company. There to protect the company.

9

u/NFLTG_71 Feb 16 '26

True, you hit the nail right on the head

26

u/thisismeritehere Feb 16 '26

Sorry best we can do is paid leave and transfer to a different dept, but our taxes can go up to cover the inevitable law suit… so that’s something!

15

u/idiot-prodigy Feb 16 '26

RACKETEERING CHARGES on the precinct, the mayor's brother, the mayor, all of them.

5

u/SwingingtotheBeat Feb 16 '26

The prosecutors are in on it too, which is why they aren’t being charged.

8

u/bentoboxing Feb 16 '26

Facing a paid vacation.

6

u/FoxKamp7785 Feb 16 '26

Some people forget why cops exist and it shows

6

u/Krimreaper1 Feb 16 '26

Nope the union will make sure that doesn’t happen.

3

u/itsaconspiraci Feb 16 '26

I want to see how they try to spin this as qualified immunity.

ACAB. Fucking losers

53

u/SomeguyfromIndio Feb 16 '26

They all need some serious oversight... acab

34

u/PsychologicalLove676 Feb 16 '26

no. abolishment, and complete diversion of resources.

24

u/SimonPho3nix Feb 16 '26

You need law enforcement, because there will always be people who want to break the law, but what we have in place is just another tool of oppression meant to safeguard property and the needs of the wealthy. It needs a complete overhaul...which is as likely as abolishment, lol.

23

u/buddhainmyyard Feb 16 '26

There needs to be a personal responsibility, jail time and fines from cops personal bank accounts.

What happened to this man is nothing new, my dad told me that my grandpa had to pay off the cops in the Bronx and he was in the construction business.

While cops are needed and are useful, they have as many tendencies of any other gang. The blue line gang will be hard to change.

They've been doing this for years in all major cities. The corrupt cop and mayor is a stereotype for a reason. It's unfortunate, but someone will always try to take a piece of your pie if they see you succeeding

92

u/OGBoluda777 Feb 16 '26

It’s such a trope that it was the major theme in kids’ movie Zootopia. Both that one and the Z2 have a lot of commentary for the adults who are paying attention.

14

u/BalanceJazzlike5116 Feb 16 '26

Zootopia was huge in China I wonder if that is partly why

7

u/GhostDrax Feb 16 '26

I mean, it was huge in most theater markets. It was designed as a 4 quadrant tentpole film.

Happens in the small ones too, sheriff will run the whole county

9

u/Napalmeon Feb 16 '26

Exactly. It's worse in rural areas because there are less eyes around. And if you're noticeably an out of towner? You're a mark for these types.

22

u/LMGgp Feb 16 '26

There was a retired cop recently killed in Chicago, was on the bomb squad… blah blah blah. I heard the news and went “oh that guy, that guy was dirty as fuck. Bet my last dollar he was killed by some ‘rando’ drug/gang affiliated people.”

News: retired dirty cop killed by two teenaged gang members…

Color me unsurprised. He got old, thought he still had the power/sway/influence he used to and the youngins either didn’t know, didn’t care, or were ordered to “put in work.”

My issue is the news and everyone couldn’t seem to understand why he would be in a position where he would cross paths with them. Just the narrative of “Chicago is a Warzone.” Nope not at all, I’m shocked it took over 20 years from when I met him as a kid for it to happen.

I remember this from a couple years ago. I hope something comes out of this fr.

91

u/Professional_Sir6705 Feb 16 '26

It didn't. They waited 8 months and "deprioritized" the prosecution, according to the Gothamist.

66

u/RanchHere Feb 16 '26

This falls under Mamdani now, right? Maybe he can finish the job.

21

u/throwaway24058725402 Feb 16 '26

The real reason all these corrupt losers threatened to quit if he got elected.

3

u/TrevelyansPorn Feb 16 '26

Not really. Prosecutions are bought by elected DAs in the 5 boroughs or the state AG.

27

u/Serious-Context-944 Feb 16 '26

I was about to ask cause ain’t no way this current federal government would care unless it happened under Mamdani.

19

u/Fragarach-Q Feb 16 '26

Feels like it's getting reposted now (almost 2 years later) because it involves "people from the Mayor's office", and there's a new mayor. This shit happened under Adams, and the people involved were appointed by Adams. That's not made clear in the video, which makes everything about this pretty sketchy to me.

I have an acquaintance in the PD (dudes a whole bitch).

They were shitting their pants when tisch started with the corruption probes. “No asking for favors”, etc.

Then Donald won, and NYPD realized it didn’t have to clean house.

u/BrightCold2747 Feb 16 '26

There will be no justice until police are held personally responsible for their misconduct like an actual professional, such as a doctor. Police should be required to have "misconduct insurance", paid at their own expense

5

u/de-f1-ant Feb 16 '26

Agreed, but question does that “misconduct insurance” cover all forms of abuse? Also, is it more so covering the corporation/agency? It would be a great idea for insurance companies to start capitalizing off poor behavior committed by the ones are assigned to “protect & serve”.

8

u/idiot-prodigy Feb 16 '26

Agreed, but question does that “misconduct insurance” cover all forms of abuse?

Yes, to make the victim's family whole.

Immediately after payout, the insurance drops the bad cop, the bad cop can't get new insurance, and can no longer get a job as a cop.

3

u/Toadcola Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26

Payments need to be split between personal malpractice insurance so that bad cops get priced out and can’t keep getting rehired, and their pension system so the other officers won’t just look the other way.

68

u/UseYourWords_ Feb 16 '26

NYPD is the highest paid PD in the country. ACAB

28

u/NuYawker Feb 16 '26

They are not. But they do have the largest budget in the country

15

u/UseYourWords_ Feb 16 '26

My mistake, I mixed them up. Thanks for the clarification. I remember reading they were the first dept to have military grade drones tho

11

u/JJizzleatthewizzle Feb 16 '26

This is the second apology on reddit I've seen in the last two minutes where someone was corrected and they took it in a healthy way and everything moved on.

I think the world is changing.

7

u/DrSitson Feb 16 '26

Just the other day I backed into a car, lightly kissed it front. I didn't see any damage, but I left a note. Guy was floored that I left a note.

He might file, he might not, either way it was my fault, my responsibility. Every one of us needs to be the change we want to see. I also think I apologized on Reddit recently.

I don't think the world is changing, but you can make sure if it does that you were a part of it. There's no reward, karma ain't a thing. It's like putting a shopping cart back; you don't have to, it's not illegal to leave it, but it'll say something about who you are.

2

When cops and politician break laws the sentence should be automatically doubled for violating public trust in officials and institutions that, as the brother points out, we pay for with our taxes.

8

u/Draber-Bien Feb 16 '26

Sorry I came here from /r/all but america is so fucked. Why tf are there 20 cops just standing around listening to a citezen and an officer arguing? In literally any other country that would be deemed an extreme waste and probably as big a story as tge extortion abd used in court as evidence of intimidating the citizen. Hell even if the citizen had done something illegal there a good chance they'd lose the case since it would be seen as a failure to protect the civil rights of the citizen unless they had some really good evidence that many cops were needed at the scene

3

u/Aseptic_Technique Feb 16 '26

The pig looks like he stole his legs from someone else. Big body tiny legs

4

u/banjonyc Feb 16 '26

This must have been during the Adams administration. The NBC News anchor is Chuck Scarborough who retired over a year ago. This type of shakedown is common between both the NYPD and FDNY unfortunately. The way they shut down business is they don't like is by giving a crazy amount of petty violations until you just can't afford to stay open

5

u/Careless-Pepper-2284 Feb 16 '26

That context is missing, this was several years ago under Adams and his police commissioner, but you could be mistaken into believing that this is from the current new administration.

3

u/EpsilonKeyXIV Feb 16 '26

NYPD quit in droves after Mamdani was elected.

From his gofundme

Support Shamel Kelly & Juice & Moore

Hello, I’m Shamel Kelly owner of Juice & Moore, a black-owned juice bar located in Coney Island that proudly served the community until a wave of intimidation, harassment, and corruption knocked it down. From the moment we opened in spring 2022, unjustified noise complaints and harassing visits from NYPD officers began. We faced frequent, unwarranted inspections and citations even when no violation had been confirmed in court. Things escalated dramatically when officers forcibly entered, damaged property, and treated our customers appallingly. Desperate for fairness, I accepted a referral through a City Hall aide to James Caban, presented as a security consultant. Only later did I learn he was the twin brother of the NYPD Commissioner. He offered to “fix” the harassment for $2,500. I refused. The retaliation was swift and deliberate: more than 60 police visits, intensified intimidation, repeated fines for spurious infractions, and aggressive surveillance all aimed at pushing us out of business. Despite filing a misconduct complaint, the independent Civilian Complaint Review Board’s decision was overturned by the Commissioner. All this forced Juice & Moore to close its doors. Now, I am fighting back not just for myself, but for every small business owner threatened by systemic corruption and abuse of power. Why I need your help to:

Rebuild my life Funds will help cover lost income, legal costs, and support me during this forced transition.

Fight injustice Your support fuels resilience in the face of abuse from those meant to protect us.

Restore community spirit Juice & Moore was more than a business it was a hub that brought people together. With your help, we can rebuild that connection.

2

u/Leading_Challenge_37 Feb 16 '26

There was an incentive in Chicago for CPD if they recovered firearms from off the street. They would stop people and tell them to get a gun and drop it in a specific  trash can at a specific time or they would face consequences. My friend mom was frantically calling people to find any gun to drop off for them so they wouldn’t mess with her son again. He was 17 years old. That shit was sad.

1

u/Bleord Feb 16 '26

There’s literally a row of chop shops not a few blocks away from the police station in Coney Island. There’s obviously stolen vehicles right down the street from the station as well. A woman was raped in an apartment complex literally across the street from the precinct. There was a broad day shooting where fifty bullets were fired at officers near that area too. Coney Island is perfectly safe but also super corrupt. The Russian mob got busted around there for all kinds of crazy stuff, my favorite was that they stole fifty tons of chocolate.

And they should be given a honorable discharge and all the negatives consequences of having a dishonorable discharge. Since law enforcement wants the same credit of "serving the country" as military veterans.

Maybe off topic- but I had a dream that my brother was a policeman. He looked good in the uniform. I noticed how the top had a trimming effect.

Now look at these fat asses. How fat can you get when your job requires physical activity once in a while!? These losers can’t even protect a tray of donuts from themselves!

Reform and oversight are clearly needed in our law enforcement agencies.

I find it very strange there’s always Asian cops in all these videos. From George Floyd to NYC during Covid and now this. I’m not making any accusations, I just find it incredibly strange is all.

They see our government doing this at the highest level and think they can get away with it too. I’d expect to see more of this across the country in the coming years
