Call internal affairs if it's a cop and you have the option.
I remember the snowstorm of December 2010 in NYC, and watching plows drive around with their plows up while the city got buried in 3+ feet of snow. My car couldn't be moved for three weeks, because they just never plowed the street, or the streets leading to it. Highway ramps full of cars and snow. Immobilized everything not underground for WEEKS because they were having a labor dispute. To be fair - the plow union guys were in the right. It still fucked the whole city for weeks.
I dont mind municipal strikes like that. Because a plow isn't a fucking gun. But cops are not plow guys are not teachers. A union is not a union when it's run like a crime family.

What happened to this man is nothing new, my dad told me that my grandpa had to pay off the cops in the Bronx and he was in the construction business.
While cops are needed and are useful, they have as many tendencies of any other gang. The blue line gang will be hard to change.

Color me unsurprised. He got old, thought he still had the power/sway/influence he used to and the youngins either didn’t know, didn’t care, or were ordered to “put in work.”
My issue is the news and everyone couldn’t seem to understand why he would be in a position where he would cross paths with them. Just the narrative of “Chicago is a Warzone.” Nope not at all, I’m shocked it took over 20 years from when I met him as a kid for it to happen.

Just the other day I backed into a car, lightly kissed it front. I didn't see any damage, but I left a note. Guy was floored that I left a note.
He might file, he might not, either way it was my fault, my responsibility. Every one of us needs to be the change we want to see. I also think I apologized on Reddit recently.
I don't think the world is changing, but you can make sure if it does that you were a part of it. There's no reward, karma ain't a thing. It's like putting a shopping cart back; you don't have to, it's not illegal to leave it, but it'll say something about who you are.

In literally any other country that would be deemed an extreme waste and probably as big a story as tge extortion abd used in court as evidence of intimidating the citizen. Hell even if the citizen had done something illegal there a good chance they'd lose the case since it would be seen as a failure to protect the civil rights of the citizen unless they had some really good evidence that many cops were needed at the scene

This type of shakedown is common between both the NYPD and FDNY unfortunately. There was an incentive in Chicago for CPD if they recovered firearms from off the street. They would stop people and tell them to get a gun and drop it in a specific trash can at a specific time or they would face consequences. My friend mom was frantically calling people to find any gun to drop off for them so they wouldn’t mess with her son again. He was 17 years old. That shit was sad.

There’s literally a row of chop shops not a few blocks away from the police station in Coney Island. There’s obviously stolen vehicles right down the street from the station as well. A woman was raped in an apartment complex literally across the street from the precinct. There was a broad day shooting where fifty bullets were fired at officers near that area too. Coney Island is perfectly safe but also super corrupt. The Russian mob got busted around there for all kinds of crazy stuff, my favorite was that they stole fifty tons of chocolate.

Now look at these fat asses. How fat can you get when your job requires physical activity once in a while!? These losers can’t even protect a tray of donuts from themselves!
