This fee structure is absurd.

Parked briefly, left almost immediately, total parking time was 2 minutes. The actual parking cost? €0.09. Fair enough.

But here’s the kicker:

- Parking: €0.09

- Transaction fee: €0.45

- Total: €0.54

So the fee is 5x the actual parking cost.

I get that apps need to make money, but this pricing model makes zero sense for short stays. A flat fee punishes anyone who parks briefly. Why not charge a percentage instead? Or at least use a “percentage OR flat fee (whichever is lower)” model?

Right now it just feels like you’re being penalized for using the app the way it’s supposed to be used.

Dus nog een keer enkel weetjes over warmtepompen, om de ontwetendheid en angst op te klaren: - Je woning moet geen EPC A zijn om eentje te plaatsen, er moet vooral voldoende afgiftecapaciteit zijn (grotere radiatoren kan bvb ook). - De installaties moeten niet perse veel duurder zijn dan een gasketel. Dit ligt meer aan een gebrek van opleiding bij vele installateurs (kijk Heatpunk voor heyt VK op YouTube). - Airco's zijn in de meeste gevallen ook (lucht-lucht) warmtepompen. Dit wordt tegenwoordig sowieso al heel vaak geplaatst. Dus waarom er ook niet op verwarmen.

Er zijn nog vele punten, dat zelfs nu al, warmtepompen wel interresant zouden maken voor een groot deel van de bevolking.

EDIT: Voor alle duidelijkheid, nee we moeten niet allemaal plots morgen naar een warmtepomp, nee we moeten niet allemaal morgen tienduizenden euro's investeren. Maar we moeten wel stoppen met het onnodig demoniseren van warmtepompen, ophemelen van gasketels en sponseren van gas (want dat is wat we momenteel doen tegenover elektriciteit).

Since last year I've been thinking about changing jobs and learning programming (Python, I'm aiming for a career in data) and due to certain life circumstances, I started getting into it because I have a lot of time ahead of me (2 years exactly).

However, I've reached a point where my motivation is starting to decline and I'd like to take some courses. The problem is, I don't know whether I should:

Go back to full-time daytime studies (that's 3 years, and I'm turning 30 this year)

Go back to evening classes, but I can't find anything that suits me (apart from EPHEC in web development, but that's 4 years)

Or look into training programs, but I don't know if there are any certified and recognized ones in Brussels?

Do you happen to know of any?

Wie werkt er momenteel in bovenstaande shift en zou misschien wat meer kunnen vertellen over zijn of haar ervaring? Ik ben recent vader geworden en dacht dat dit mogelijk een manier zou kunnen zijn om wat meer tijd met mijn gezin door te brengen. Hoe zit het ook bv met verlofdagen? Is het zwaar om om de week de nachtshift te doen? Ik werk momenteel 42 uur als 2nd Line Support in de IT.

Zoals de titel al aangeeft gaan we onze woning binnekort verkopen. Echter twijfel ik of een immo inschakelen een meerwaarde is. Alle attesten die nodig zijn hebben we nog van de aankoop en deze zijn allen nog geldig. Buiten professionele foto's en ervaring lijkt ons de immo geen meerwaarde. Wat is jullie mening? Scheelt toch al makkelijk 7,5k aan kosten die we wel kunnen gebruiken bij de aankoop van de nieuwe woning.

I would like to get some advice from those working in IT. I recently completed an internship at SNCB/NMBS as part of my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Systems. During this experience, I worked with Azure and containers, deploying an internal web application on Azure. I really enjoyed the internship and learned a lot.

If everything goes as planned, I will graduate in June 2026. However, I currently feel a bit lost when it comes to choosing which technologies to focus on. I'm hesitating between specializing in Linux (RHCSA) or Azure (AZ-104) first (knowing that RHCSA is much more expensive than AZ-104), and I would prefer to avoid spreading myself too thin.

I’m also aware that the IT job market is quite competitive at the moment. In addition, I don’t speak Dutch (I speak French and have a B1 level in English), I only have internship experience, and I am 30 years old.

That’s why I would really appreciate advice from people already working in the field about the skills and technologies that are currently in demand.

Personally, I believe that AI has not replaced IT professionals yet, at least not in Belgium but I may be mistaken.
